saturn is one of the strangest paintings i've ever seen lol i had to study for a class and it was so interesting to hear the backstory behind it having it been painted on the walls
Leonie, you have to check out "Macbeth"! It has descent-into-darkness story arc, so if you loved "Picture of Dorian Gray"and "Vicious", you would love that one!
I've been to Park Güell by Gaudí twice and it's like stepping on a fairytale... there are small details everywhere that makes it really special, I hope you can come one day and see it by yourself! Btw, I loved the look!
That language part resonated so much with me, lol. I'm german, so I speak german (and english obviously), I can understand a bit of dutch because like you said, they're kinda similar, I took french in school but also can't really SPEAK it because it's been 7 years, super basic level of spanish and I'm also trying to learn japanese right now. Also have to learn latin (and maybe greek) for university.
This video was really cool and original ! Love the outfits !! I make my way through Dark academia, just started with the secret history and I loved it so much I want to read everything now ! I'm also a big fan of the TV show How to get away with murder which is of course dark academia ;)
i remember seeing saturn by goya in madrid! i had never heard of it before but i remember how striking it was. stood there for a good 15 minutes just looking at it. there's a whole room of goyas. it was so cool
I'm a French Canadian and you really cracked me up because we really do speak really really fast 😂 great video I would love to see you do more of that style !
I love that this tag is a thing and you always give off dark academia vibes & I love it. The outfits are SO cute & peak dark academia. I'm a history major and would love to be an egyptologist except I would prob have to live in Egypt to actually have that career. So I teach myself in my free time lol. Audible has this great new thing called The Great Courses. They're lectures by professors and basically people who know what they're talking about. I'm listening to one right now called The History of Ancient Egypt and it's so good! It helps that each lecture is about 30 minutes, so you can listen to one at a time and there are 24ish hours in all I believe. Just wanted to let you know! It's like getting the quality information and lecture of a college course but the cost is a lot different haha. There are also many different subjects but you mentioned Egyptian mythology so I thought you may wanna know!
i loved seeing gaudí's architecture! i've always wanted to live in one of those buildings! also, i love your make up and outfits!! (and albert camus rocks)
Leonie i enjoy your reading vlogs so much and i think you are my fave booktuber now. I am currently on my 3rd year in uni and i major in biology. Im thinking of getting masters in neural biologyy in the future too and u inspire me so much! 😭
That is actually a thing? Wow, I always used to simply see it as a part of why fall/autumn is my favorite season because it is also always the beginning of a new academic year lol Great to know that it actually has a name, though.
I felt sooo represented when you talked about being really into dark academia and literature etc but irl my field is also science based 😂 specifically medicine so I'm also not familiar to a lot of poetry and stuff
The Mona Lisa Smile movie is a very clear example of the Feminine Mystique that took placed in the 50s, 60s and even 70s. Betty Friedan wrote about this phenomenon (The Feminine Mystique) in case you're interested in learning more about it! Loved this video to bits.
wow, i seen that misty mountain painting on the cover of a book by Nietzsche somewhere. that painting supposedly inspired Wenzel Hablik's own painting titled "Sunset, Montblanc"! the similarity is there but their styles are different. I prefer abstract (expressionist) paintings.
I could actually tell you had learned some Spanish because of how well you pronounced Barcelona xD There is another famous building by Gaudí in my home region. It's called "El Capricho" and one of my friends from Uni works there as a "historian tour guide".
I have seen that too in Kunsthalle and it’s called Der wanderer über dem Nebelmeer!!! If you see this in real life it’s another feeling and one seems to dive in the painting !! By Casper Friedrich
I'm Belgian (native French speaking) and even if I also speak Dutch I can hardly understand Dutch people because you guys are speaking sooooo fast and eating your words all the time ahahah
Hi. Im a year late watching this video but if you're interested in Irish poetry, I highly recommend Patrick Kavanagh. Perfect for dark academia aesthetic xxx
So.. for question 3 you misspelt painting and wrote "paining" and that has to be the most perfect Freudian slip possible for a dark academia video XD XD XD too perfect.
Hi Leonie seeing your other video, I see you played pokemon diamond on nintendo DS, and I'm wondering if you beat the game and caught the legendary pokemon dialga, the game is so fun I played it many times
I love Leonie and seriously, no offence to anyone, but I absolutely hate how westernized dark academia is. I mean, coats/candles/shakespeare blah blah it's all so western centric and I think that's so sad that people limit it to just that. Have you ever looked up indian dark academia on instagram or tumblr? It is mindblowing!!! Gorgeous saris/anarkalis, diyas, urdu poets/so many books, have you seen mughal architecture?!!!, henna, hindu mythology, chai oh my god there's so much i wish dark academia enthusiasts were more diverse with their love for DA.
0:19 the prettiest sock ive ever seen
"I feel ready to ask my professor really annoying questions" hahahaha
Such a great way to describe the sound of a piano
saturn is one of the strangest paintings i've ever seen lol
i had to study for a class and it was so interesting to hear the backstory behind it having it been painted on the walls
yes it really adds another dimension!
I think the book series "His Dark Materials" fits very well into the dark academia genre, and you'd love them! Some of my favourite books ever
Leonie, you have to check out "Macbeth"! It has descent-into-darkness story arc, so if you loved "Picture of Dorian Gray"and "Vicious", you would love that one!
I wasn't aware of this until recently...definitely into Dark Academia. And "Wanderer Above a Sea of Fog" is one of my favorite pieces as well!
I loved EVERYTHING about this!!! Your makeup and outfits came out AMAZING!!! Thank you so much for doing our tag! :)
Duuuude you should write your own dark academia tag that's geared more towards sciency academics!! It'd be so cool!
I feel you on the poision thing. Lets be real its less messy, less work.
Egyptain Mythology is so cool!
I‘m in love with this fall 🥺❤️
I zoomed to get over here. I'm in love with this aesthetic :)
You look ready to solve a murder and tell off that dismissive upperclassman.
I've been to Park Güell by Gaudí twice and it's like stepping on a fairytale... there are small details everywhere that makes it really special, I hope you can come one day and see it by yourself! Btw, I loved the look!
Now I’m trying to think of biology dark academia. Frankenstein and Jekyll & Hyde?
The mention of Jekyll and Hyde has summoned me.
This video was really cool and original ! Love the outfits !! I make my way through Dark academia, just started with the secret history and I loved it so much I want to read everything now ! I'm also a big fan of the TV show How to get away with murder which is of course dark academia ;)
"My favourite characters are all very morally grey" that sounds like a V E Schwab novel to me 😂
i remember seeing saturn by goya in madrid! i had never heard of it before but i remember how striking it was. stood there for a good 15 minutes just looking at it. there's a whole room of goyas. it was so cool

I'd recommend movies "cracks" -eva green plays wayward teacher in girls' boarding school and "tanner hall" with Rooney Mara, it's so autumnal
i loved seeing gaudí's architecture! i've always wanted to live in one of those buildings! also, i love your make up and outfits!! (and albert camus rocks)
yes yes yes to everything!
Nice video I love how you wear the coat on in slow motion lol

this is the best compliment
i'm from Barcelona and I can tell you that Antoni Gaudí's work is absolutely breathtaking. (btw, i love that you know geography hahahaha)
I felt sooo represented when you talked about being really into dark academia and literature etc but irl my field is also science based 😂 specifically medicine so I'm also not familiar to a lot of poetry and stuff
the ultimate dark academia book for me is The secret history by Donna Tartt, it's so so good
6:43 wonder what you think about "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley
yes come to Edinburgh!!
Love the plaid pants girly! Where did you get them?

that sounds super interesting!
The painting of "The Astronomer by candlelight" (L' Astronome a la chandelle) by Gerard Dou seems to fit the aesthetic pretty well
i looked it up and it's really pretty!
wow, i seen that misty mountain painting on the cover of a book by Nietzsche somewhere. that painting supposedly inspired Wenzel Hablik's own painting titled "Sunset, Montblanc"! the similarity is there but their styles are different. I prefer abstract (expressionist) paintings.
"Poison. Yes. It's just cool." hahaha I loved you! I'm subscribing

I literally love this so much! Trying to get into spooky season vibes and this video helped a lot. :)
I love DA and I'm glad you did this tag. I'm going to have to do it soon for my channel.
They must have some pretty high-end socks in the Netherlands...
I could actually tell you had learned some Spanish because of how well you pronounced Barcelona xD

In primary school, I had to wear blue tartan trousers as my school uniform. 🤢 Honestly, it looked so good on you.
You should definitely read Richard the Third by shakespeare
He is a really interesting anti heroic character you'd probably love reading about
Love from India😍😍🥰🥰
No body ever mentions the Lord Peter Whimsy and Harriet Vane murder mysteries. They are very DA like 😊
Come to Spain 💜
Heyy could you maybe make a video about your favorite fictional characters
