From one impatient tea girl to another: there are kettles with different temperature settings! Then you can always get the perfect temperature for your tea. I love mine :D
I also have one, and I'll never go back 🙈 BUT I have a tip for brewing green tea without this feature to those who don't have one! Just pour water into the cup first, wait a beat and put in the bag after. That way the temperature goes a bit down before brewing! OR just reduce the brewing time to 1 min or less.
This quote: "I love you. I love you. I love you. I'll write it in waves. In skies. In my heart. You'll never see, but you will know. I think you would enjoy Becky Chambers' other sci fi series, The Wayfarers. She has a really nice, positive way of discussing philosophical themes, social themes, etc. The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet is quite good, and my favourite is the second one called A Closed and Common Orbit.
watching your videos this past year has helped me so much with just relaxing and winding down. I've been able to both keep cozy in my comfort zone but also to build up the courage to try new things even if thats just a new genre of books or new clothes. I hope the moving is going well and I hope youll love your new place and are able to rest and relax❤
Speaking of time-travel-related novels, a book that I'm currently reading and recommend is The Ministry of Time by Kaliane Bradley. Though I haven't finished yet, there's a very interesting mixture of speculative, romance, and historical fiction genres. Plus it has some of my favorite elements like a deadpan morally-grey protagonist, arguably somewhat cosy vibes at times (?), humour (+ some more serious themes), found family, and some yearning. Don't go in expecting the focus to fully be on the romance, though!
You should definitly check out the sequel to A Psalm for the Wild-Built. I personally liked it even more than the first book. This duology is the best example of Solarpunk, which is a subgenre of Sci-Fi that has an optimistc view of the future. Unfortunatly I still haven't found other Solarpunk books that were as good as Monk and Robot.
in a similar vein to psalm for the wild, I recently read "what you're looking for is in the library", which is a book where each chapter is about different people in Japan just dealing with their everyday lives... and I haven't read psalm for the wild but the way you talked about it, it reminded me a bit of that book. It is also short and it is less about big philosophical concepts but more about our attitudes towards our lives and what they should be. It is really inspiring and kind of soothing. I really love e.g. its exploration of self-care and that the view that managing to take care of yourself is an achievement we can be proud of. Also, I can really recommend the audiobook for it, as different narrators are used for the characters' perspectives.
What a great cozy setting! I have to say, Mona Awad seems to be too bright for me 😂. I read Bunny and I cannot say what I thought about it. BUT I think I need to reread it some time, so this is a pretty strong sign for a very good book 😅😂
Every time pooh and piglet tried to get home they ended up back in the same spot lost. So they decide as they walk away next to try and end up in the same spot and they actually end up back home! Also the man with the bucket that had a hole in it. Villagers laughed at him for wasting his time but he says but look how nice my flowers are......as I walk the leaky bucket waters them as I walk. Such a wonderful book
random but I just wanted to say you’re the only booktuber i like to hear read quotes/passages from books lol. I dunno why but I cringe when my other fave creators do it lmao
5:47 You should totally pick up Becky Chambers' other books, the Wayfarer series. Again they are soft, utopic sci-fi with really interesting conversations about what makes us who we are. I've read 2 of 4 so far, and love them! ❤ Thank you for all your lovely videos Leonie, hope the move goes well ✨
@@generic_fish Ah my apologies, I had not noticed there was a reply! I really liked the two books I've read so far. The first one follows more a cast of characters on a voyage. Good luck with the rest of the move! Hope everything goes smooth and easy for you :)
All of Becky Chambers' books are amazing. If you want stories with great characterization, intellectually compelling, but also soul soothing, definitely check out more of her books. Very "cozy Sci-Fi" vibes while still making the reader wrestle with interesting ethical dilemmas.
4:59 I haven’t read the books yet, but in the show adaptation for the three body problem on Netflix they also talk about this and how humans have become too fearless, and the aliens want to teach us to fear again.

I been watching lots of booktubers talk about Psalm of the Wild-built and This is how you lose the time war, but (perhaps in an attempt to not spoil them) no-one seemed to really tell us what are the book about or how they're so special. But you did and now I finally really want to read them, and for that I'm greatful
Can you do a "no spice"/"clean" book recommendation video please? I just recently started watching your videos and I love how aesthetic and calming they are. Keep up the great work❤! Also could you recommend a book('s) that someone who reads dystopian, YA, science fiction would like please! Love your videos! ❤❤❤❤❤❤ Also sorry if my grammar is a little crazy.
I really think you should check out Becky Chambers’ other books. I read her other novella ‘To be taught if fortunate’ and the hopeful philosophical sci-fi vibes are fantastic.
I've read this is how you lose the time war like 5 times atp and I always discover something new I've missed during previous reads, I absolutely adore it ❤ Also I highly highly recommend the audiobook as well it's just gorgeous

Yes, many positive reviews of Time War. Intend to read it along with Ministry of Time before year end. btw: 11/22/63 is time travel but without the sci-fi and with a truly great love story.

I read The Tao of Pooh this year too! Couldn't get behind his argumentative attack on so many groups of people, but did love some of advice, like: - A tree considered useless for lumber still has value in providing shade and shelter. It is only useless to you because you will not use it in it's proper way. - Brain can be fooled, but inner nature cannot. Ignoring your inner nature leads to little understanding or respect for yourself which means you can be easily influenced away from what is best for you. - Don't be a "Busy Back-soon" who wastes his time trying to save time, who devotes his life to working to afford devices to save time.

have bought 'A psalm for the wild built' recently, your review is so on time :) although mine is in Polish, and my Polish is somewhere on level A1-A2 😅
Some interesting books that I will take a closer look at to see if I might like them. Thanks for the introduction, Leonie. I hope your move went well and was relaxed. I'm looking forward to the new setup.✌
When you were describing the Psalm for the wild built i thought it sounds like it's some AU for This is how you lose the time war but then you whipped that book out 😂
I recently saw a series in the bookstore called "The Wild Robot" and from the cover and bio alone, they sound very similar to a Psalm for the Wild Built! However, I've not read either of those series but they're both on my TBR now
The wild robot definitely has similar themes to a psalm for the wild built but in a kids book. It's such a good book and there's a movie coming out later this year
I also love Bunny and Rouge, and I've said this to you on IG, but don't skip All's Well! It has all the weirdness that Mona is capable of, mixed with a healthy dose of Shakespeare and chronic pain. And yes, I also thought that I should have a skin care routine while reading Rouge!! So culty!
Exactly the same thing happened to me when I read "Rouge". Immediately started researching skin care routines to pick up again, despite being aware that that was really not the point of this book 🤦♀
i say this knowing the game Palia (free to download on switch and pc 👀) is my hyper-fixation rn and everything can be related back to it, but for those who love _A Psalm for the Wild-Built_ i think you'd LOVE Palia. there are robots that remind me of Mosscap and one of them, Einar, whose Oneness is fishing, is romanceable. But there are many other characters you can romance at the same time (polyamory is socially normal) and there's so much else you can do like fishing, mining, hunting, farming, and hugely customizeable home building, there is no combat or fall damage or anything and so it's extremely cozy with small puzzle-based temples BUT there is sooo much world-building you learn from interacting with the NPCs and there is a lot of darkness just under the surface in the history of the world of Palia. And anyway I'm obsessed and know people who like Leonie's vibes would love it, too. Seriously come play Palia 😂 and fall in love with Einar with me 😂🤖💕

Some interesting books that I will take a closer look at to see if I might like them. Thanks for the introduction, Leonie.
I hope your move went well and was relaxed. I'm looking forward to the new setup.✌
Hah
I was imagining uncle Iroh while you were talking about _A Psalm For The Wild Built._ xd
Such a cozy videos, love it!
I loved this cozy little time. Thanks for sharing! I hope your move goes well!
Love the vlog - hope all goes well with the move!
Highlighted the hellllll out of this is how you lose the time war. It’s so good
Amazing video, lovely reflections and overall a great chat! 🥰
It's such a good book and there's a movie coming out later this year
you should definitely read Alls Well from Mona Awad if you haven’t already! I’ve read all 3 of her books and that one if definitely my favorite :)
So culty!
When I was in New Orleans I found a little card in a shop that read, “when I am myself, I am free”. It is now on my fridge as a reminder
