Yep, water can help you get the tackyness back a bit. PPF doesn't always like headlight plastic anyway, so it's even worse when the PPF loses its tack on them. 😁👍🏻 The audio on that Tesla mirror video was all messed up. I have no idea what happened. I'm going to have to re-edit that video and repost it another time. 👍🏻
Appreciate the tip on misting over your hand and also squeegee'ing an extra inch of from the tacked section. I'm sure that helps minimize stretch/distortion if you start stretching right away.
Awesome, it's good to hear that you found some pointers. I always like picking up new tips and tricks. Thank you for leaving a comment. The feedback is much appreciated! 👍🏻😁
Thanks for watching! 😁 this should definitely come in handy then. 👍🏻 Headlight with the parts protruding like that are always interesting. Let me know how your installation goes. Will you be bulking them or I stalling a kit?
@@EncorePPFtint I was planning on bulking. My Forester is slightly older so it doesn’t have that pointed part and I figured it would be doable. I also don’t have a plotter 😅
Great channel and attention to details…. Approximately how many miles on the vehicle? I’m curious how many miles before the imperfections from use become noticeable on ppf install? Thank you!
Thank you! It really depends on how much you drive, what type of driving you do, the size of rocks (road debris) you hit, and how clean you keep the PPF. The film comes with a 10 year warranty. We don't do much replacing of the PPF because of everyday driving. The small rocks that are normally going to cause chips should deflect off of the PPF without leaving and damage to the material.
My gray towels were purchased from PremiumShield, but they no longer sell them. Here is a link to towels I believe to be very similar: www.chemicalguys.com/products/monster-extreme-thickness-towels-3-pack
I did not know you could "revive" adhesive. Once the film I use looses it's stickiness, I start over. Every video I learn something new. Awesome.

Thanks for another awesome demo! I’ve been meaning to practice on my Forester, so this will help a ton

How hot is that gun? I'm thinking just a touch more than you would want on your hand. Is that a fair assessment.
It's sat at about 700 degrees. It'll burn you! You can always start with less heat. 👍🏻
What rags do you use to help dry out those edges?
