Can you make a video talking about the feed, perhaps when you prepare it for the horses? I had problems hearing what they were saying and it would be interesting to hear you talk about it 😊
My young horse used to jump out of fields all the time 😂 I love it when feed companies come out and stuff! A yard I was on had Topspec out and that was really interesting. Brandy (my mare) had never seen a weight bridge and was suddenly a fire breathing dragon 😂🤭
You want me to stand on what?? Two inches off the ground?? You ask too much, human! 🤣 My very first horse, an Arab mix, treated every new experience like this lol
I think obi is in love with zora and didi was excellent at getting on that big scary weigh bridge and she is getting so big to and I hope mo gets better soon poor girl
Loved this vlog! My sister who also has horses was in the room and wasn’t watching and came and sat down as she found it really informative and helpful! She doesn’t use UA-cam and she was really impressed with this content! I’ve set her up a YT account and subscribed her so she can watch more content herself!!
A really interesting video on feed/balancers ect - I’ve always been sceptical of balancers but watching this video, it makes sense and shows how you can avoid over feeding and tailor diets even more.....x Can you do a video at some point of you making up all the new feeds please? :) x
Hackett Equine, I'm going to be contacting them from Canada regarding the 5 brood mares I'll have in at the end of December. Their owners know me, and love the fact that I'm on site during the foaling season just in case things don't go well. But all 5 broodmares this year, the youngest this is her 3rd foal, all the others have had multiple foals as well. But, better safe then sorry!!. But finding out their nutritional needs from some experts will be most helpful. I will send photos so the can see the mares, their ages will be included alongside their weight, and what they receive in feed now. Can't wait until they come in so I can start this process!! I'm so happy that I now know who to contact for a mare who is in parturition. Thank you again, from a grateful Canadian, from Ontario, Jenn.
Great great vlog. I really enjoy learning more with feed. It was super interesting as I live far far away. We don’t have the luxury of having grass/hay with lots of vitamins and minerals since it’s so cold here, so I have to feed a lot of supplements. I never heard of chaff (i hope I spell it right), so it would have been nice to actually see the feed you are giving them ;) but other than that, good job. I’m super « jealous » to the fact that they had a real scale to actually weight the horses, I’ve never seen one before it’s so cool
Love this vlog! Great to see so many different horses but they try and keep the feed similar so you’re not buying 10 different chaffs/nuts. I was also sceptical about weigh bridge sessions before as I’ve always felt like it was a sales pitch. Dodson & Horrell came out and recommend their balancer (again thought £££) and build and glow cubes. I’ve cut my feed bill by £30 a month. They really do give amazing advice.
The horse I usually ride, Forrest, is a master at releasing any and all gate snaps and latches, and stall doors. Then he goes into the barn and tears the place up. Tastes all the tack, knocks stuff off shelves, poops everywhere. We have to double latch everything 😊 but the nutrition information was really good, finding out what should work best AND saving some £?! Cool!!😊👍🏻
So, Missy Zora. That was hilarious. She's obviously ready to get back to work. Poor Mo. Hope she gets better soonest. One horse missing (?) Keiko(?) Did I miss something? Nice for a big business to care more about the animal than profits. Will be looking forward to see the results.
Appreciate your thoughts on training and feed. Specifically, your comment re: Zora and making sure feed is not the cause of any stress or behavioral issues first, so you start with very little and go from there.
Great video lots of good information, if nothing else hopefully it will let folks know that they cant just throw feed at their horses lots to think about when planning a feed ration.
The software they talked about for verifying your nutrition numbers for your horses is available in the US from FeedXL. Great info. Costs $50 per horse per year
Pretty interesting video! The only problem for me, is that I've had a little bit of a hard time understanding what she was saying lol her accent got me confused 😂😂
Fantastic informative video!! Maybe post the helpline number in your description to save people searching for the contact details? Plus you’ll get brownie points off D&H for doing it 😉 😁👍🏻
I loved this, i find nutrition so interesting, although for me it's usually nutrition for my dogs, i'm like obi though lol i might have to eat what they recommended for him
I freely confess that I used to feel sceptical about feed balancers but after feeding one to my fairly hefty 16.2hh Standardbred, I am a convert. Later I watched a video on another channel talking about the importance of amino acids and suddenly it all made sense. (Used to be Kitty but changed my name in preparation for uploading my own videos in the future.) PS It's dawned on me that my horse weighs more than I thought.
I was trying to ask for advice from friends about feed and i had someone just say 'keep it simple' that's all well and good ... but sometimes you just can't keep it simple. Is it wrong to say that? Like it makes me feel like i shouldn't even be curious as to what else could benefit my horse.. they just want to see you feed them bran and chaff and think they can live. Sometimes that works ... Sometimes that doesn't.
Great vlog. Had me in stitches at “this is emma, she’s nice and simple” 🤣
David Massie hahaha when I watched that back I realised how that sounded 🤣🤣 she is definitely not simple she’s very smart
Poor Emma

Could we please get a dog introduction? 😍😍
Yessssss!!!
Can you do a video showing you making the feeds up please!
Amy Cook second recommendation for that so yes I’ll be sure to do that 😊

Great video, very interesting and educational.
A good company for horse feed and nutrition in Australia is Hygain, they are great and very similar to Dodson and Horrel!
Please do an updated what I feed my horses now xxx
Thank you so much for sharing this video. I really learned a ton from this video. Best Regards from Ontario, Canada, Jenn.
What great advise I bet it gives you peace of mind. Wonderful video. X

thank you so much for this most informative video vlog - you and yours are appreciated.
Love your videos, you seem so very genuine. 💞 But PLEASE always make sure you turn on captions! Some of us need the help.

Very interesting! I hoped you would actually make the feed too. I love those videos. ☺️☺️

Linzi Mac so Greta to hear glad they managed to save you money too 😊

Flat Junk oh no! What a naughty chap! Yep I’m so pleased to be Saving some money! Maybe I should change the title haha

Watcher On the wall she’s out in the field at the moment and it was really tricky to bring her in. I’ll try and sort that for next time 😊
Super interesting and educational vlog ..love it lol
Really interesting Miri thanks xx

Luiza Fonseca any questions please let me know!
Omg I’m first! Notifications really do help lol!
This was super interesting thx 💕
Hey yall love your videos a lot
What breed of dog is the little black spaniel? He's just so cute.
What breed is Zora? I'm new to the channel and I didn't hear if it was said. She's stunning!
Nice video, I don't have any horses. But I have always liked using Dodson and Horrel supplements for my dogs.
What happened to feeding spirulina? I’ve considered giving it to my horse as seen you (and many others) recommend it - do you still feed it?
Fantastic informative video!! Maybe post the helpline number in your description to save people searching for the contact details? Plus you’ll get brownie points off D&H for doing it 😉 😁👍🏻
Kathy Jones Parry I definitely meant to do that. Oops 😬
🤣 easily done 🤣
I loved this, i find nutrition so interesting, although for me it's usually nutrition for my dogs, i'm like obi though lol i might have to eat what they recommended for him
Are you still feeding spirulina?
Love your videos by the way.
Morgan Leigh yep, but only to a few of them at the moment when they need the extra, I feed it to mo at the moment 😁
What are pony pellets?
Maureen Callahan simple pony nuts. So a basic feed with a low level of nutrition can be added to a feed as they are palatable and add bulk.
Random question! What shavings do you use! They look really nice and fluffy! Struggling to find any I really like!
Sophie Baker they are called Vida 😊

Standardbred Adventures it’s so interesting. Glad you have seen success with a balancer. I’m looking forward to seeing how my lot feel on it 😁
Ohhh another standardbred lover :)
Are you still feeding Spirulina?
lillerella yep, but only the ones that need it. So Mo is still having it to help her build muscle 😊

👍🏻😘
ALCHEMY but very interesting
Didi's huge! (As in heightwise ha)
Still doesn't beat the cammels
Katie Law 🤣🤣🤣
None of this makes sense to me. In Canada horse nuts are not something you feed to a horse.
leslie park oh no. What is a horse nut for you guys? Or is it really as simple as the nuts of a horse 🤣 🍒?
@@hackettequine2059 I don't know the answer to this question, but you did make me snort my sprite!
