So hey, the Arts thing mentioned in the video is exclusive only to Djeeta and Gran. Everyone else has pretty different mechanics and gimmicks when it comes to how they approach combat. Rackham has a heat gague, Siegfried has timed inputs, Vaseraga has revenge mechanics and so on.

Not a single person is talking about the fact that Nobuo Uematsu composed the soundtrack?? He is one of the best gaming composers of all time, with FF6, FF7,FF8,FF9, FFX, and Chrono Trigger as some of his best accomplishments. His inclusion alone makes me want to buy this game!
yeah imagine not putting respect on that mans name. hes like the fuckin einstein of video game music. Iv'e had the privelage of playing FF11 and he made the music to all the zones. So everytime you zone into a different area you can feel the music in the area its so crazy. just look up ffxi sea or ffxi sky and look at the surroundings and music. INCREDIBLE!

A tighter, more straightforward action JRPG is actually a nice change of pace from 60 hour long games. Everything described in the review made the game sound extremely fun and varied. Excited to play this

Well , not really , since the game consists of endgame. The actual fun of the game is being those credits. When you finish the story , you're not even level 50 yet.

@@Metalkicker it's endgame focused and it seems to have a monster hunter-like support. It's had a balance patch already and has free characters announced.

This sounds like it takes all the best parts of gacha games (collecting and building a large roster of characters, making team comps) and takes out the microtransaction aspect. The concise story with post-game optional-multiplayer content is the cherry on top. I'm sold.
GBF might be a gacha game, but spending moolah is optional, but selling your soul to the grind gods is a must
it also costs $60 out the gate so it better not have microtransactions 😂

So far all the enjoyment and nostalgia as well as the references from playing the mobile game for the past 10 years have translated nicely over to console/pc released game, it is fantastic to see such an amazing lore rich and beautifully drawn series get a wider audience to learn about it and enjoy what so many of us have been enjoying so far.

Only Quests, but not story. You can do stuff that isn't bosses that is co-op

Their focus was replay ability and they far succeeded at it with the end game content and multiplayer. It was a great idea to get the West into it. They can worry about a story driven single player game later.

Seems like a fair score, lack of crossplay is a big deal for a game that puts online co-op at the center of everything.
u don’t NEED to play online tho, of course it’s an option but u can run with AI who are smart enough to not slow u down

@@SoulCaptain2870 You don't need it, but the point is its fun to play with others. Its like monster hunter, sure you can do the hunts alone, but its fun to play with others, and this game is co-op focused cause that's kinda what they wanted people to do after beating the game.

The graphics and combat honestly reminded me a little bit of Tales of Arise and Ys so ill definitely check out the demo.
The way they talk about the Arts level up mechanic tells me that they only played Gran/Djeeta lol
For anyone that has played this, besides the combos you are given do you unlock more combos in the game? (x,x,x,y,y,y x,y,x,y,x,y)
No extra combos but new abilities and each character had different playstyle. lots variety so one character combos don't quite transition to another.

Watching this 3 days after release made me laugh when he said it could be "niche" when its now one of the biggest jrpgs on steam with over 100k current players! Its a fantastic game and it deserves this success!

For those who wondering about getting overleveled which makes game too easy :
in endgame , there are Quick Quest which randomly select one quest and SCALE DOWN your power level to the quest.
so If you got power level 3000 will be scaled to 1600 against quest with power level 1600.
Isn't there a ng+ mode with a harder difficulty?
@@j.garcia6206 no , but you can do chapter select. to get missable item or fingerprint stone challenge
@@j.garcia6206 there's actually no NG+, more like continue+ but with the ability to replay any chapter of the main story with higher difficulty, the main draw of the game is the quest based raids

Honestly, I'm just happy that this game won't take over 50 hours to complete like most JRPGs and is just a nice and cozy JRPG that is fun to play by yourself or with friends. Enjoying the game so far!!
best part is that it can support casual and hardcore. If you want a super deep sweaty arpg experience you get 7 extra difficulties, endless scalings options, raids and so on
but if you wanna a laid back chill coop sesh with fun combat, its there as well. Game is fun at all levels
Bit short though, 50~60 hours is kinda standard for me 😅

Hidden gem for sure. So much fun.
A few reviews have commented on the short story. I'm not after a 60 hour mega epic, even 20 or so could have been fine. Sure, there's hours and hours of content but that's not the story.
If you don't like long hours stop searching for jrpgs and then crying when you already know the answer

The main story is solo, no co-op. You will play with 3 AI members you can choose who is in your party.

@@RN-zb7li The majority of GBF's fate episodes are just text + background pic though? They rarely involve a battle; usually only special character ones like the Evokers, or max level uncaps.

You have items called sigils that can shorten cooldowns as well as masteries.

Djeeta name is actually on the title aswell, the Japanese read it as "Guran(Gran)buru(blue) Pantajii(Fantasy)", Djeeta came from the Panta"JII" words

im so excited to get this lol. The demo was fun
Lack of CrossPlay is quite a loss for online endgame (would have loved to widen my options with console users); but lack of microtransactions, denuvo and a pretty concise main campaign experience are already wins in my book. And this RPG adaptation already seems to have integrated character specific gameplay quirks that you even find in the GF Vs Rising videogame from earlier. There is alot of variety here just from utilizing different characters.
I’ll wait for a discount kinda iffy about it
