I remember actually having a 3DS to watch this when it came out. All I remember was thinking about how ingenious an idea someone must have thought it was to have butts smearing across the top screen of people's DS's in 3D.
I don't see how people keep pointing out this videos flaws. It's flawless. It's literally a video about spreading love, THEY SAY IT IN LIKE SIX LANGUAGES
I am Japanese. Now It has been 10 years passed since the 3.11 earthquake, this video always gives me brave. Thank you for making such awesome music and video. arigato!
My very favorite OK Go song. So much hope in it! I cried from an over-full heart, the very first time I saw the writing in different languages. All peoples of the world need more love.
1. The video is beautiful. It’s simple, creative and original. Very nice way of using the human body! 2. “… when they say that all is lost, all is not lost, all is not lost…” it might seem a simple and easy thing to say, but you cannot imagine how it makes me feel to hear that sentence…it gives me hope, confidence and positive energy for all the things I do!
13SoulEater13 Theatre Technician here, the actors are lit parallel to the ground and the lighting instruments are shuttered so none of the beam hits the glass. In reality, that glass is covered it smudges, but because the smudges are not illuminated, they are not visible. As an example, try taking a picture through a car window with the flash on and then off.
This is one of their most beautiful videos. It is true to the creativity standards of the band and utilizes the amazing talents of the dance troupe perfectly. It was well worth the wait.
You give these guys a piece of toilet paper, a ruberband, and a camera and they can turn in into the greatest video you've ever seen! Every video puts a smile on my face! Keep 'em coming
If you're in New York, you can see the video performed live at The Joyce Theater. It's kind of a split screen effect with the dancers and band on the table in real time on one side and a video screen playing what it looks like from underneath on the other. Pretty amazing!
@Crow Crow The 3DS released in Japan in 2010 and outside of Japan in 2011. The eShop launched in June 2011, with the Nintendo Video app releasing in July 2011, with this video on there right away.
OMG This is why OKGo is my favorite band, you always keep things original, and it's ALWAYs yours! This is great, and all the people who worked on it with you, are amazing! :D
How is this not on UA-cam's list for Best Music Videos of 2011?!?! Seriously the interactive version is one of the best things you will ever see on the internet.
Gosh! I really like how those Pilobolus dancers move, especially the girl with black, long hair. When they're rolling on the ground, the way her hair spreads is just awesome!
у меня уже не хватает слов восхищения, чтобы похвалить очередной неординарный клип этой группы! ребята на редкость изобретательны и умны, при этом делают очень хорошую музыку!
Guys I know this is a less then 8 years old video but I remember watching a scene from this video on the 3DS where their legs are hitting each other in the crotch at the ending. They took it out in this video, hahaha!
I love this band..i mean seriously? Every time i think that they've surpassed their limit of awesomeness..my mind is blown again! I hope there is more to come from them! YAY!
lazyboy395 This was done, I believe, in CT with Pilobolus. It was very improvisational, and you can hear more about it by listening to Trish Sie (Damian's Sister) describe it in her TED talk from a few years ago. She has done several projects with OK Go, including "White Knuckles," where she cried before filming, and is a pro ballroom dancer as well - check out the OK Go video and song "Skyscrapers" which features her and her dance partner - really gorgeous work Enjoy!
How did this music video sneak under my radar?? I love OK Go videos and don't remember this one being announced or featured anywhere. I was half expecting something a lot like SOUR's Hibi No Neiro music video, but this was about as cool.
+sandgaijin I'm not sure if it is still available, but they had a thing where you could send a message to a friend using this video... and at the very end they would spell out the message using the same "foot method" as in the video. It was very cool.
OK Go is so very creative and innovative. They make it look easy but the kaleidoscopic images took many hours to choreograph and perfect. I look forward to each new video. Thank you OK Go.
Seeing, realizing the genius, & completely amazed by this & all their work!! I have so much respect, just grieving, wishing I i had found them sooner...💖💯🤟🏼✌🏼
Once again another ingenious piece of work showcasing the creative eye of the choreographer and her ability to produce movement in space that is both appealing to the eye of the spectator and to the abilities of the band. Very interesting and entertaining for me. A very nice piece of editing as well.
this picture make me so fluffy and sad-happy.it's really nice. it's grandious. think, this clip is true exit for people with emotional problem. this video help me make better my emotional system and make better my heart. i feel love and this is wonderful.
I think the discomfort you are feeling is being confronted with people who are more comfortable than you in what they are doing. Or, even, something totally alien to you. I know the part where they picked up Andy and dance totally made my hair stand up the first time. What I'm saying is... be open to new, uncomfortable things. For the only way to become comfortable is to be receptive, open, and willing to experience anything.
I don't know if my hairs are raising because the message and the concept of the song is so overwhelming or because I've seen too much feet in that 4-min video. But good job nevertheless ☺
I was thinking of The Human Centipede and swimming sperm the first time I watched the video. But the second time I was able to focus on the amazing choreography.
Tbh this is full of references on how to draw a body with a top-down perspective
_im so glad I'm not alone in instantly thinking that_
Thanks for this comment I wouldn't have noticed
It would be awkward to be staring at this while trying to draw something and then your mom walks in...
You think?
:0 you genius
This video managed to be one of the weirdest, creepiest, and coolest music videos of all time
And, that was a good thing.
then ending was teh best
Xxzazx
I remember seeing this on the Nintendo video app that no longer functions on the 3DS
Creepiest? Is just pure genius.
I remember actually having a 3DS to watch this when it came out. All I remember was thinking about how ingenious an idea someone must have thought it was to have butts smearing across the top screen of people's DS's in 3D.
Jejune Jimbo Those were the good times 😕
Jejune Jimbo Yeah, i just remembered these guys still existed, so I went to see their olds songs that I heard in the Nintendo Video app on my 3ds
Jejune Jimbo I remember that too and then I would creep my grandma out with the video 😂😂😂 remember bee and puppycat too
Mission Ctrl SAME
Gives me a nostalgic feeling of being 9 again when i has my 3DS

All is not lost, except the way cooler interactive version of this video, that's definitely lost.
Spu - A UA-cam Channel ahahahaha

Great, I had not thought about it and now I need to concentrate not to
Not just me then Phew!
I don't think people realize the genius that is this video. Big congrats to all involved.
I can literally ALWAYS count on OK Go to make me feel better when I'm down. (:
Me too! 😸 👌 🎵 💐 🤗
I come to see this music video on this day every year.
Only question:
HOW in the WORLD did they not smudge the glass?
Maybe it is a very clean and new piece of plexiglass?
Maybe they just cleaned their feet and hands before they stepped on the glass?

Gimli, Son of Glóin Oh, cool! Thanks!
+Gimli, Son of Glóin Ultra cool! Where would we be without great Theatre Techs? With visually uninteresting plays! Bless the Techs! 😀

beside being musicians they are outstanding video artists as well... always pushing the line further .. Bravo OK GO !

I love the message of the video. Spread love.
this looks beautiful..
ok go never cease to amaze me with their originality in a world where everyone is copying everyone elses work. BRAVO!
I can't believe this videos and their other creative music videos aren't getting as many hits as their viral ones
Gosh! I really like how those Pilobolus dancers move, especially the girl with black, long hair. When they're rolling on the ground, the way her hair spreads is just awesome!

I'm trying to not stare at everybody's butts, I am. But when you put it so blatantly on the glass, what did you expect...
Awesome Performance with unique chorography!!!
Now how did they nit smudge that glass?
the light they used is parallel to the glass, so the smudges on the glass are not visible while the people are.
