How to DIY a Mid Century Modern Dog House - Easy Woodworking Tutorial & Beginner Build

- SETTING UP MY 8-YEAR OLD FOR SUCCESS WITH AN INVESTMENT PROPERTY! 😎Talk about a good Christmas present… amirite? Btw, the 8-year old is Tucker John and he’s an exotic white cream parti Pomeranian. Here’s how I built it using my favorite #HARTtools … including their 20V 4 Tool Combo Kit which is currently on sale for Black Friday 👇🏼👇🏼
+ I built a base out of 2”x4” wood studs and a pre-cut 2’x4’ sheet of 1/4” plywood. used my @harttoolsusa 20V Drill/Driver to do all the drilling, which is included in their 20V 4 Tool Combo Kit!
+ I built the back wall with the same dimension of the base + built the front frame and made it a bit taller so I’d have an angled roof. I chopped all my wood with my HART 10” Miter Saw, which can seem intimidating to use, but it’s honestly soooo easy AND fun to use!
+ Once I had the back & front frames, I measured the space between and built two side wall frames to fit. Everything was secured with 3” wood screws!
+ For the angled roof, I used my #HART 20V Miter Saw to cut the roof supports at an angle & nailed them onto the frame
+ I used my 20V Brad Nailer kit to nail a piece of 1/4 plywood to the inside back wall of the house and then I installed three panels of LVP flooring I picked up at our local thrift store (for only $3!!)
+ For the exterior of the home, I found tongue & groove bead pattern common boards. They were about $8 for 8 feet, which I thought was a very economical option & they were easy to stack together. Once cut to size, I nailed them to the frame with my 20V Brad Nailer Kit!
+ I removed the excess at an angle with my HART 20V Reciprocating Saw (also included in their 20V 4 Tool Combo Kit)
+ I used PVC molding & trim along the corners, window and doors of the house. also using my Brad Nailer to secure!
+ I painted it all blue, added a cute little flower box and some holiday decor.. then popped on a polycarbonate roof
