Youre actually quite misinformed. Its easier to knock someone out with boxing gloves on than with a bare fist. What knocks you out is the brain rattling in the skull. Hitting the helmet very well had bounced the brain around INSIDE the skull, while simultaneously protecting the outside of his head from the fist. He has no reason to lie anyways. Its War, and aside from SAing someone or executing someone its all "acceptable"
It's complicated, but there are multiple factors, including doctrine, manufacturing, shipping, and rapid tactical change. There's some pretty good videos about it.
Heavy tanks are part of why the Germans floundered in the Ardennes. The bridges and thin forest roads weren't ideal for that sort of warfare. The Sherman was much more suited to it than what the Germans chose to use there.
What a unique story! Thanks for that, it had me laughing.
That was a fantastic story, so glad neither of the guys gave each other up, great pictures too.
Lucky to be alive after three years of fighting especially as most of them were in Russia.
thanks for posting
It would have been great to hear more details of other battles but he is indeed lucky to have survived.
Final de campanha é sempre complicado

What an incredible story! It seems an american comedy film..!🤣
Poteaux 1944 is the place. 14 years back there was a WW2 museum there.
Strange.
fubar funny , if you live !
He knocked out the soldier by hitting his helmet with his hand?
Someone took some liberties with this story.

German armies were the best but they stretched too far and too long
Makes me sick seeing those Shermans burn. Why did the Americans not have a heavy tank? I'll never know. The Pershing tank came too late.
We built 50,000 Shermans. The Germans built only 1300 Tigers and about 5000 Panthers. I think we employed the right strategy.

I don't know if Americans ever met Tigers in the west. Maybe for or five times close to the end of the war.
The Sherman was a good tank. I'll never know why a 90mm main gun wasn't in the original design. Would have made a huge difference 😊
