11. Canaline 42 Engine Service & Narrowboat Maintenance

It was time for my Canaline 42 engine to be serviced on my narrowboat. Instead of paying to get an engineer in to do it, I prefer to read the manual and do it yourself. You never know where you may be when the engine needs a bit of TLC! Having serviced it at 50 hours, I was a bit more confident to service now just before 250 hours. This video isn't about any of my journeys but without completing a service, there would be no journey!
NOTE
I made an error when filling the gearbox oil change. In the video, I filled it with engine oil (yellow colour) but when packing up, realised I should have used the gearbox oil that was happily sitting in the maintenance box! OOps. I drained it right away and filled the gearbox again with ATF Dexton II oil 10W30 (red colour).
