BEWARE
I close my eyes and seize it
I clench my fists and beat it
I light my torch and burn it
I am the beast I worship...
And I know soon come my time
For in mine void a pale horse burns
But I fear not the time I'm taken
Past the point of no return.
Wage war like no tomorrow
Cuz no hell there won't be one
For all who deny the struggle
The triumphant overcome
Trips to where, few have been
Out of thin air, upon high winds
Rites begin when the sun descends
Have felt what few will ever know
Have seen the truth beneath the glow,
Of the ebb and flow, where roots of all mysteries grow
I am below, so far below
The bottom line
Transmitting live, transmissions rise
From the depths out of controlled by
Suspended glance of an unblinking eyes
Imminent gaze cast 'pon the path that winds
'Pon the path I find, and claim as mine
To ride the waves, of unrest
Made to make me shine as a testament
To why the ways of the blind will never get
Shit but shanked by my disrespect
Dismiss this life, worship death
Cold blood night of serpent's breath
Exhaled like spells from the endlessness
In the bottomless wells of emptiness
Channeled to invoke what we represent
Secret order
Elitist horde of
Creeping fire
Seizing power
Riders of the lupus hour
Eye on palm
Time is gone
Moonlight drawn
Fly til dawn
Sacrifice to rise beyond
Deep inside the violent calm
Of the coming storm
In blood sworn
To glorify and for life adorn
With all that dies to become unborn
I close my eyes and seize it
I clench my fists and beat it
I light my torch and burn it
I am the beast I worship...
I am the beast I worship
In the time before time eyes 'bove which horns
Curve like psychotropic scythes
And smell of torn flesh bled dry
By hell swarms of pestis flies
Vomiting forth flames lit by
An older than ancient force
That slays this life with no remorse
The spiral storm
Of flames inside
The torch I raise
The force I ride
Feel my vessel go up in flames
Flesh torch lit by thee unnamed
Direct connection to the source
Vestment of unnatural force
Forever burning black torch
Wisdom of the old and true
Possessed by the chosen few
Shining to reveal the ways
Of a darkness that pervades
All that is and ever was
Inferno of witches blood
Worship is not on bended knee
Nature knows not of mercy
To pray is to accept defeat
Power pisses on the weak
Bow and beheaded by the beast
Beggar on a bitches leash
Scum is desperate for relief
Worship is the way I ride
Witching currents through the eye
Of storms that force the false to die
Worship the flames with which I rise
Into apocalyptic skies
Harsh winds flay mine flesh to bone
In splintered skeleton I roam
Wastelands with not to call my own
But the path I walk alone
The hunger burns, within my gut
As my bones turn into dust
And I know soon come my time
For in mine void a pale horse burns
But I fear not the time I'm taken
Past the point of no return
Wage war like no tomorrow, know well there wont we one
For all who deny the struggle
The triumphant overcome ...
I close my eyes and seize it
I clench my fists and beat it
I light my torch and burn it
I am the beast I worship...
I am the beast I worship

I recognized that too, I thought it was just to refocus his eyes because the light seems very direct in the direction he’s focusing; I’m assuming it was shot in a particularly dry part of Sacramento where they chroma keyed out the sky for black. different take on the same concept, slightly different results...
I watch this every night like it is a religion
It's part of my routine
This was the first Death Grips song I listened to. I just remember being completely overwhelmed by how loud and intense it was, (along with the rest of Exmilitary). I hadn't heard anything like it before in all my life. It was tough for me to get through the whole mixtape because I was into a bunch of soft acoustic stuff at the time, and I don't normally listen to anything super loud per se. But something made me come back and listen to it again. I wasn't really feeling it [*No Takyon pun intended*] at first, but a few tracks stood out from the rest that I enjoyed (Takyon, I Want it I need it, Culture Shock). Then after several listens of the entire mixtape, I finally got into it. I'm not sure what it was, but something just clicked and I didn't hate it anymore. Music is strange like that.
Same bro, I picked the first "album" as my first listen
Exactly the same for me. I got myself to sit down and listen to it, I didn't like it that much, and then that night as I was going to bed I felt the weird urge to listen to it again and suddenly it was one of my favourite albums of all time
Totally the same for me, but with Money store. They have something that at first makes you come back despite the loud weirdness, and eventually you’ll listen to them (at least partially) for the loud weirdness. Combining it with intense lyrics like these makes all the more interesting.

I love the memes, DG community is pretty wholesome. I just wish there was an equal amount of fans who also like discussing the actual music and lyrics.
Sad when art gets demoted like that. Being a huge pink floyd myself I find similar things. Everyone knows two songs thinks the solos great. And no one's really interested in the bodies of work.
These days I'm pretty convinced this is one of the best songs ever conceived.
The imagery is awesome, the beat is visceral, the vocals are perfect and it sets up the tone of the rest of the album perfectly.
Definitely one of the best hip hop songs ever, although I would argue that there is a lot of jazz/classical that's better (yes I listen to jazz and classical I'm a pretentious bastard) lyrically this song is amazing, well everything about this song is awesome.

The way the background instrumentation gets really loud and intense right after the opening monologue ends is legendary. So I finally finished listening to this song for the first time. Man, this is so, bizarrely entrancing. These lyrics don't feel like they're intended for the style of music McRide is going for, they sound like ritualistic cult chants, and yet it just works so elegantly with the music.
"DISMISS THIS LIFE! WORSHIP DEATH!"
I don't think there's another piece of music that shocks my system as much as this song, literally every single time I've listened to it the drop sends goosebumps through my body.

Yes, sir, captain! Awesome lyrics...
"Wage war like no tomorrow, cause' a hell there wont be one" FTFY
Thanks Mr. Fixit! The second part only reinforces the first part of that sentence, not contradicts (if that's what you allude).

@@ea11111 well it aint about using it on others. its using it on yourself and striving to become superior like your life depends on it. MC ride stepped out of the matrix, and made a bunch of cool shit. That's what literally every successful person does. They find out people ain't really what they seemed to be, nothing really is. They use that pain, the life and time that were taken from them, and become their own god. It's not paranoia, evil, blah blah blah. It's realizing what's going on and becoming the best possible version of yourself in spite of others being "satisfied". The content ones will do anything to drag you down and your path of greatness. They see you become more than them, therefore they envy. They don't have it, or they don't want it, so they HATE. The more hate you receive, the more wood for your fire burning in your soul. That's why Ride is badass as fuck, and the whole band is. They stepped out of the matrix, stopped giving a fuck, and they actually got results. It's takes a fucked up realization that your entire family faked their love, being the scapegoat in almost everything/anything you did. Leaving a social function and feeling completely empty inside because whoever was there fed as much as they can off your empathetic soul. This is how people become successful. It's literally cutting everyone off from your life, starting your own shit, and reaping the benefits after years of persistently.
