When you're on the verge of a meltdown and you dont have any courage to say "i'm not okay" to anyone so you drop little hints and they take take it as a joke.
Foreign Heat and that all people have problems, but reducing that statement to platitudes solves nothing and keeps the wheel of shit going. It's the equivalent of someone addressing a problem with America and being told 'if you don't like it, move elsewhere'.
Foreign Heat no shit. You're acting as if it was some hidden message. It's not a secret that's what he's saying. Good job figuring out a message in a music video without even having to scratch the surface tho. Must've took some brain power to figure that riddle out.
Not sure this is just about him, I think it's about a lot in this game. Glorifying things 85% think is cool when it;'s actually not good or healthy, our growing apathetic culture, desensitisation... . What an artist!

Danny is one of the few rappers I appreciate showing excessive drug use in his videos because it has meaning and it holds a mirror to how shitty it really is to the person using it. while it's glorified it's still self medication due to feeling broken or loss or whatever reason but it's not positive. Personally I don't have shit against future or migos but the way they glorify drug use has had major influence on many people causing more people to experiment with more hard core shit, lean is basically liquid heroin but it's not delivered through a needle so it doesn't have that stigma with people. However at the end of the day if you're a adult your choices are your own and I'm not here to declare a war on drug on some d.a.r.e bullshit I just think if you're gonna be exposed to something see all sides of it good and bad.
For the record, Tyler The Creator is sXe, and pretty much everything Odd Future does goes through him first. Imagine listening to all that stuff and being the sober producer.
im sorry but take it from an ex heroin user lean is not even in the same galaxy as heroin. i went from perc 30s to oxy contin to heroin when i first got to college, from starting snorting 30s to injecting heroin literally only took about 6 months thats how quick the downward spiral was. i did lean back in high school every once in awhile the whole 4 years and never developed a habit. its once you start doing the 30s and oxys when you really run the risk of getting physically dependent on the drug. if your like me your probably doing it just to have fun with your friends or to take the edge off. i dont think anyone goes into it wanting to become a junkie thats what people dont understand. you just get in to deep and by the time you want to get out your sick as hell and end up using to just maintain and be able to get threw the day. its literally hell on earth. but if someone is drinking lean at a party on the weekend or every once in awhile they should be fine. its not so much the drugs you do i think but its also your life outside of drugs, u have to be responsible. its just when ur doing oxys or heroin if you do it enough you cant just stop or it feels like the flu times a million so ur gonna have to get high just to get threw a day. i smoke pot and do acid and molly every once in awhile and haven't touched an opiate in 6 years and my life is so much better now i love life and respect the substances i put into my buddy so even tho it must sound wierd the respect me back and as a result my life for the most part is amazing nowadays. sorry for the rant ive just heard alot people say lean is liquid heroin just because its an opiate, but not all opiates are built the same believe me. if i was withdrawing off heroin or percs/oxys and drank 4 bottles of lean i would still be sick, thats how weak of an opiate it is in comparison.
A public response, I'm not trying to take anything away from Edward's experiences or opinions Lean, which is codeine, metabolizes into morphine once it reaches that liver. Codeine doesn't do anything in itself, instead it creates a reaction. This is likely why people don't feel nearly as high as when they take a morphine tablet or something of the likes. Percocet, Oxycontin, that chemical is more potent than morphine. Codeine can't even compare to heroin, Ed's right, just as morphine can't compare to diamorphine. It's still an opiod, it's much more dangerous considering promethazine, which can be harmful at a low, one time doses in itself, interacts with the body load aswell as nausea, so they won't vomit if someone has taken too much. My point is, the popular drugs right now (lean, molly, any opiod or amphetamine) all have the potential to be incredibly dangerous if you don't take the steps required to be somewhat healthy while tinkering with your chemistry. If anybody found my comment confusing, just please do research on what you're putting into your body. Knowledge on pharmacology has saved many lives from painful or dangerous experiences You are all loved, be safe, know how deep the pool is before you dive in P.S. I'm a benzo user, and to anybody else that uses or may use benzos, specifically xanax for recreation, it's harsh and never ends pleasently. Definitely not worth the buzz for the risks you're taking
Most rappers make drugs and dangerous lifestyles seem fun. Usually it’s a flex on the listener. Then there’s Danny, who is begging for help but still indulging in his bad habits. It’s a cautionary tale for the listener.

Fuck dude. This video is pretty meaningful. At least, to me. It seems to me like this whole video is a metaphor for how we view celebrities in the media when they abuse drugs. And how they develop serious addictions. But we as fans, eat that shit up, so nobody really worries to much. Celebrities are humans too, they have problems too. Especially in the realm of drugs. I think that's what Danny Brown and Jonah Hill were trying to say with this video.

Finn Mikkelsen You completely miss the point of that line. His mindset is so screwed up from addiction to drugs, that even though he needs rehab, he washes out his pain with more abuse. "Pray for me y'all because I don't know what's coming for me." The song is pretty much a plea for help (whether he's gotten it or not) in a time where he can't even stop himself.
I definitely feel ya that the song is generally an ode to his extensive drug habits and how it has affected him psychologically but I can't think of any other way to interpret "might need rehab but to me that shit pussy, pray for me y’all cause I don't know what coming to me" He's just saying he's too fargone down the spiiral
I saw Danny Brown live in Manchester last weekend at parklife festival. He performed this song and I was surprised how much it rocked live. Everyone was jumping around and dancing in the crowd when he performed it. He also did Smokin' and Drinkin' and 25 bucks. But the best one, without a doubt was when he performed Dip, there was a big mosh pit in the middle of the crowd when that went down when he performed that one. It was one of the best shows at parklife, I hope he comes back again next year.

This is an artistic masterpiece man. Danny deserves so much more attention. He got fans but he needs to be international. Fucking artist
I am from an African Nation and I stumbled on it when listening to alt rock nd I love him
I don't think you know what "international" means.
I thought you said autistic for a good 3 minutes and just stared there puzzled
He is international, I'm from Brazil and he's pretty big amoungst the right niches
italian here, love his music
I noticed how their lips don't sync up to the subtitles, and I feel like that goes to show how what is projected is different than what's actually being said
Good observation, that really gives it a little spice
When you're on the verge of a meltdown and you dont have any courage to say "i'm not okay" to anyone so you drop little hints and they take take it as a joke.
W pfp
he is basically saying that all problems that he have people dont give a fuck and take it as entertainment
Foreign Heat no he is saying ALL THESE PROBLEMS PEOPLE HAVE AND THE WORLD SEES IT AS ENTERTAINMENT. ITS NOT JUST HIM
That was pretty clearly stated in the video
Foreign Heat and that all people have problems, but reducing that statement to platitudes solves nothing and keeps the wheel of shit going. It's the equivalent of someone addressing a problem with America and being told 'if you don't like it, move elsewhere'.
Foreign Heat oh you can read too? yeah i read that too.
Its more of commentary of how terrible human beings are. We've glorified death since our inception.
@@ericnick4498 wtf is u talkin' about bruv?

@@blackcatdreams2011 i know that, but what does he means with 'We've glorified death since our inception.'

I tried to show this song to friends but they all hated it. The lyrics are just so damn raw and hit you different once youre on the other side of addiction.
Lyrics can only take a song so far... It just doesn't sound super good. I like everything but Danny's voice on this track
Find new friends my yute 😂
Now THIS is an interesting way to make a song about addiction..
Future doesn't glorify drug use - his tracks are soaked in melancholy and depression and grief and rage. You heard Lil Haiti Baby?
everything OF does not go through tyler first. Earl does what he wants and Mellowhype has left brain to produce.
im sorry but take it from an ex heroin user lean is not even in the same galaxy as heroin. i went from perc 30s to oxy contin to heroin when i first got to college, from starting snorting 30s to injecting heroin literally only took about 6 months thats how quick the downward spiral was. i did lean back in high school every once in awhile the whole 4 years and never developed a habit. its once you start doing the 30s and oxys when you really run the risk of getting physically dependent on the drug. if your like me your probably doing it just to have fun with your friends or to take the edge off. i dont think anyone goes into it wanting to become a junkie thats what people dont understand. you just get in to deep and by the time you want to get out your sick as hell and end up using to just maintain and be able to get threw the day. its literally hell on earth. but if someone is drinking lean at a party on the weekend or every once in awhile they should be fine. its not so much the drugs you do i think but its also your life outside of drugs, u have to be responsible. its just when ur doing oxys or heroin if you do it enough you cant just stop or it feels like the flu times a million so ur gonna have to get high just to get threw a day. i smoke pot and do acid and molly every once in awhile and haven't touched an opiate in 6 years and my life is so much better now i love life and respect the substances i put into my buddy so even tho it must sound wierd the respect me back and as a result my life for the most part is amazing nowadays. sorry for the rant ive just heard alot people say lean is liquid heroin just because its an opiate, but not all opiates are built the same believe me. if i was withdrawing off heroin or percs/oxys and drank 4 bottles of lean i would still be sick, thats how weak of an opiate it is in comparison.
A public response, I'm not trying to take anything away from Edward's experiences or opinions
Lean, which is codeine, metabolizes into morphine once it reaches that liver.
Knowledge on pharmacology has saved many lives from painful or dangerous experiences
You are all loved, be safe, know how deep the pool is before you dive in

Extra cool points that you made this so well I doubt you'll have much backlash since far too many people will still watch with their own perspective and fail to recognize the point.

this music video is genius

"Pray for me y'all because I don't know what's coming for me."
The song is pretty much a plea for help (whether he's gotten it or not) in a time where he can't even stop himself.

There was a portion of my life that I used this song to revel in my broken-ness. But then seeing the video was an important step in realizing that I needed to get sober-- it really shined a light on some problems that I could no longer ignore
