I finish the game at the 36:44 hrs mark. The combat is simple but really fun when you unlock more abilities and are able to chain them together. I mostly went for a air juggling style. I would start with the sword, into an air launcher and proceed to finish the sword combo. Then dash forward (mid air) use the axe, into the spikes to launch the enemy up againand keep hitting them. Then finish with Athens shield bash, and hit the next enemy with a drop axe attack.
This game is amazing !!! I saw it about a week ago and the fact that it's colorful appealed to me so I bought it on a whim and I haven't stopped playing ever since. I play it so much I was thinking about pulling a "sickie" at work just so I could stay home (i'm not but I thought about it tho)

I loved this game, just everything about it. From graphics, to story content n how smoothly the gameplay flows n easy to execute. Have it on the switch n I will say the only issue I had was sometimes it would just suddenly stop the screen would go black n would shut off to switch home screen, however when I loaded it back up it would continue right from where it shut off n didn't really happen often enough for it to get annoying (like normally did it if I had been playing it all day/evening n even then not every time) but definitely worth it! Brilliantly fun game!

I am 15 hours into the game (was waiting for a sale), and I really enjoy this game. I haven't even loaded Valhalla since I started this, and I was so looking forward to Siege of Paris, but it must wait. Super fun game.
Finished the game about a week ago. Really enjoyed it but yeah, it can be very repetitive at times. Had a couple glitches and slow downs on Xbox Series X but nothing that was a deal breaker. If your on the fence about it, buy it! It's a great game.
what i adore about this game is bullshitting the vault puzzles. like this situation might happen: what the game wants: hey move these blocks around to put on these pannels to get the fire going then shoot your arrow from your position curve it through this obstacle course, hit the flames to set your arrow on fire then curve it back through the course to ignite the sconce to lower the bridge to get across my answer: if i just put the blocks on top of eachother then spam the spear ability to quad jump i can get on the bridge and just glide to the end. i win. or literally firing an arrow around the vault to hit the victory target that unlocks all the air vents without needing to get to the right position to hit it. i think the only vaults i have ever done the "proper" way were the first few before i got all the godly abilities. after getting the clone statue, Ares spear and speed up/down the control of the arrow i havent done any vaults "properly" (well... other than the ones where you only fight but those arent really puzzles) the only real change i would have of the game is adding flapping to the gliding. like press X during glide to increase altitude. make it cost a section of the stamina like the double jump but can do it multiple times. reason for this is, i really like the flying in this game due to the world being so interesting, but only gliding is annoying as hell when trying to get to certain area's and missing by just a lil bit. would it make the flying super OP at end game? probably yeah with max stamina. but by then you're super OP in every other way so why not?
I'm really enjoying the game. Nice to see the Ubisoft Quebec team doing something that feel different from their attempts at AC. This makes me think that Ubisoft should have them focus on titles like this that are more experimental compared to their other open world games. My only major complaint is the lack of NPCs outside of the gods you save. It would have been nice to get a larger variety of quests from a village or something. With the number of myths from ancient Greece, it would have been cool to see more of those characters and interact with them. Luckily the core gameplay loop of puzzles and combat is enjoyable. The game being only 20 hours long, means it won't be overstaying its welcome. Definitely a hidden gem from 2020.
Had lots of fun with the game. But having only 2 weapon types killed the mood after a few hours. Becomes a bit repetitive and you rapidly get all the powers and then there's nothing else to wish for. Still a fun game nonetheless
No more repetitive then Zelda faster paced good story the most fun I have had with a game in a couple of years. I'm not saying it's better then Zelda I am glad to have both. Hope Ubisoft makes more read many comments that said they had a smile on there face while playing, I agree.
I've put about a hundred hours into this game, played the game+ in such a way that I activated all the gods' essences at the Hall at the same time AFTER I (tried to) clear the map of all the challenges and secrets. It's a really fun game and I do appreciate the goofy nature of it. But... I only wish there were people. I wish they didn't use the story to take away the crowds, because playing this game feels lonely. The plus side is, that lonely feeling makes me want to get AC Odyssey.
Just bought it today on sale. I've seen many reviews on it. It sucks that it gets compared to botw. There's so many other games that do the same. Any ways. I read some of the comments as well. Thank you all that made my choice a good one. Cant wait to dive into it. I passed botw and it was badass. I've always enjoyed Greek mythology. Do definitely excited. Good review as well my friend.
Yeah I've also noticed that it's quite repetitive I've upgraded my health stamina and weapons quite a bit and still struggle to do enough damage to the stronger enemies everything else about this game though is great I'm around 20hrs into it now and still not even started the 2nd stage of blessings yet. My last mission was where I get my bird
Trust me, give it another 15 hrs and you'll be so strong that enemies dies just by hitting you 😅 which I will admit, for me, it took away from how difficult it was at the beginning... Playing nightmare mode at the moment, and I'm still having an easy time defeating enemies...
Would you guys be willing to recommend a better control layout then the default one. I personally don't like using the RB and RT buttons for light/heavy attacks.
I tried switching X and Y for RB/RT. I mean...it kinda works but its not optimized for it. You'll take a huge swing of your axe when simply trying to activate something. I do also find it easier to sprint during combat with those changes.
It has micro but they are not scams, completely optional, not that pricey, can be earned in game and not that much of a grind. In other words the only kind of MT we like. No scamming in this game my friend, its well worth it
I bought the game a few weeks ago when it was on sale at Target for $30 on switch and I feel like that was a great price for this game. I don't think it's worth $60 on the switch, but at 30 I feel like it's definitely a great game and I've invested so far about 15 hours or so. I'm having lots of fun with it and I keep getting sidetracked.
Comparing it to Breath of the wild is ignoring all the games using the same elements : 4 realms with a final one (called north/south/east/west or fire/water/air/earth you'll find dozens), sneak on animals to tame thems (also lots), lots of minibosses (even more lots), go to a point of view to discover map (hmm, well, this one is mainly in Assassin's creed), hero with wings (also a lot), climbing/swimmming with stamina bar (not as much but at least a dozen), puzzles with physical elements (damn lots and lots, back form the 1980s), vaults ... not knowing BotW enough but they're really thematic with Greek mythology and yes tons of games have this, maybe not adventure games but not new either
Kinda annoying how after you beat the game you’re prompted to a menu to choose a save file to return to like my most recent saves just keep putting me back to the end of the game cut scenes
I play the game on "story" difficulty and think it's too hard on this setting. I would love to one-shot everything and just check out stuff - basically rush through the story in some hours but thats not possible :(
During a mission I fought against a bear and when I defeated it somehow i passed through the ground and kept falling in a black abyss . I couldn't see anything but i could use some skills. When I reached like 5000 meters below the ground and I kept falling I decided to reload last save. Luckily I didn't encounter the same bug again. I played on nintendo switch. It's a great game I just wanted to mention this bug cause it was really weird.
Love the game, don't entirely like the button controls on a controller. And for some reason I can't sprint while on a horse it just dismounts me, have to sprint first then mount in order to mount sprint.
This is in my top 3 games in the last several years, and frankly I'm pissed that so many reviewers that don't care to really play fully fleshed games like this talk shit. It's like that girl reviewer that doesn't like Cyberpunk levels of stupidity.
Sorry but the game is easily a 9/10! You said it yourself, it draws you in and makes you want to play. The combat mechanics are fun, the movement mechanics are excellent, the story is great without taking itself seriously from the very first moment the game starts. If it weren't for the vaults and how repetitive they are I would give the game a higher score, but they are what they are and it only gets worse as the game goes on. The one thing I thought would happen, that the jokes would get old and boring, just did not happen. The game had me chuckling almost constantly because of the story.
I don’t need an open world game to be as big as 1:1 New York City. Make games fun again! I loved Zelda N64, played the demo of this, look tight, no fluff. Here’s hoping after 500 hours of Anthem/Cyberwank... 🤦♂️
Hard difficulty on lower levels is pretty hard 😅 That's combined with souls-musclememory results in catastrophy. About to get a hold of the keybindings though 😂
So the flying mechanic is not new at all... In fact it is almost identical to BOTW... Also, the dungeon system is also identical to BOTW. In fact, a lot of the abilities are almost identical to BOTW. Ubisoft even goes as far as admitting and poking fun at themselves for "sampling" BOTW... I'm guessing you've never played BOTW seeing how you failed to mention the fact that the dungeon system, map, abilities, and flying mechanic are virtually identical... Not complaining about the game though... Best game I've played since BOTW!!!
This game is great and a real breath of fresh air after how horrible cyberpunk turned out! Refunded CP2077 and playing this instead. All the different activities are a lot of fun and though it is repatitve, it's easy to mix up the different activities to keep it feeling fresh. Combat is a lot of fun, but a bit too easy once you figure out Ares Wrath can instant stun even the hardest boss fights.
120 Hours and have not beaten the main story, mostly exploring the world, doing vaults and defeating legendary monsters. The story is amusing at times. By far one of my favorite game this year and the 3 DLC looks promising. Edit: Just play as the female character, playing as the male it is just... Cringy af. From the promotional video ubisoft clearly focus as a female protagonist, the male character is just an after thought, at least that how it felt for me.
Wish this review would have talked about combat mechanics. I believe I heard your abilities don't have recharge time you just have a total stamina, which allows you to use the same move repeatedly if a creature has a weakness to it, would also liked to have heard more about those potion icons.
@@deathwish8672 At length? That was 20 seconds he didn't even name the godly powers let alone describe how they or how any of the bars or potions work in the game, all he said was you can upgrade them. He barely even skimmed the surface.
@@10-OSwords he mentioned that it was simple and that the godly powers could be chained for varying effects. Their really isn't much to say about it without going into a full combat mechanics guide which wasn't the focus of this review. The video demonstrates a fair bit. We could argue that he didn't mention phosphos and all his abilities or the mount system too but really it's nit-picking at that point.
@@deathwish8672 Um, a full description of combat is the only thing a review needs. Don't need story, don't need sound design, can see the graphics for ourselves. The only thing that matters is the combat. You could throw in the upgrade mechanics if your feeling generous but the rest is all bull.
@@10-OSwords I'm glad that you know what you want in a review but the combat is really not the biggest part of this game. I'd say the puzzles, free roam mechanics (flight, swimming, climbing) and the graphical style are the true highlights. The combat is basic and very easy even on hard difficulty. A quick overview of the skills is all that is needed and I think he hit the mark on that.
After 7 years finally i can play a ubisoft game i like this game very much but i play on switch not a great experience. But i will buy on pc because it has cross save.
@ThinKwiQ I played Breath of the Wild quite a bit. I defeated Ganon immediately after leaving the starting plateau, I collected all of the Korok seeds, did all of the shrines, everything in the base game, never played any of the DLC. Here’s the thing, I didn’t really like the game too much. To me, BotW feels more like a proof of concept, or a beta, than a fully fleshed out game, and it definitely feels nothing like a Zelda game. The thing is, Immortals doesn’t feel anything like a Zelda game, either, no one would be comparing it to the Zelda franchise if not for BotW. With that said, it outperforms BotW, as a game, in every possible way. Though, I will state that I am a huge fan of the 2D Zelda games, and not really a fan at all of the 3D Zelda games, so that might factor into my opinion. I still hold that the best two 3D Zelda games ever made are Darksiders and Darksiders 2.
@ThinKwiQ There is nothing "lite" about this. This game is pretty much everything Breath of the Wild is; at least 4 "large" dungeons, like the Beast Temples. Probably 80+ "shrine" type mini dungeons, with much more satisfying puzzles, that also have multiple solutions in some case. And the Korok nonsense has been replaced with probably 200 or so puzzle based mini objectives, of several varieties. Plus, multiple mounts you can find and tame, legit, actual video game combat (which I imagine Nintendo will never get right), and a full narrative. The developer that made this game definitely loved BotW, but was fully aware of all of its shortcomings, and fixed pretty much all of them.
@ThinKwiQ Most of the comments I have seen online praise the game for not having breakable weapons. That is certainly not a negative. And this game does have day and night, with certain chests locked behind nighttime, but it also has a quick time of day change, like AssCreed. I do the majority of my gaming on Xbox, but I do have all of the systems.
Yup, and if things get crazy I just call the "Bird" for back up. Complete the whole bird questline and get the upgrade that increase its attack by 150%. Sooooo gooood.

Just pre ordered 'cause I love open world games and RPGs in general. Now I'm about to watch your video and to see your opinion on this game.
It'll be on sale in 2 months
@@7783alfonso Well, considering my account is already worth more than 3.000€ and most of the games I bought were on sale, I don't think I care
@@leton7565 pffff bigface, I have more on my account, now what? Does it mean I’m the “better” snob asshole?
@@danielvarga4644 Excuse me? I was trying to explain the reason why I don't care if the price of the game would drop in just a short amount of time, since I saved a lot of money on many many other sales already.
And now you attack me for absolutely no reason at all? Seriously?
@@danielvarga4644 But if you really want to know, here are the facts: I'm working daily from Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm. Most days I'm not even getting out at 5pm and have to stay for at least a couple of hours more. My wage is shit. I'm currently only a trainee, that gets only 3/4 of what I SHOULD earn. But since I'm almost done at this point, I don't see why I should quit now. Later next year - sure.
This game is incredible! Playing on hard difficulty and having a blast!
I’m glad Ubisoft put out something different for once. I fw this game heavy.
This game is amazing !!! I saw it about a week ago and the fact that it's colorful appealed to me so I bought it on a whim and I haven't stopped playing ever since. I play it so much I was thinking about pulling a "sickie" at work just so I could stay home (i'm not but I thought about it tho)
Honestly the first game in a while that I can’t stop playing. Only thing I regret is not getting the bundle with the season pass
I did and it was completely worth it honestly. And I don't usually buy stuff from the game's store, but I did for the weapons and armor packs. I want my shit to look good when I play it. Just my take though.
This game looks absolutely beautiful. 👌
So far I’ve put 45 hours into it and have just 1 god to go. I’ve put a bunch of time into collecting coins and finding chests to maximize my health, stamina, and skills before completing the game. Probably won’t be a completionist, but I’ll be close. Absolutely loving it! Although, now that I’ve seen these graphics I’m a bit sad. But still happy I get to experience it on my Switch anyways. Just a bit less detailed. Haha
Been playing since it dropped and I love it !!! Glad I got it on switch I take it everywhere 🔥🔥🔥
Same here! What an awesome surprise! How did IGN and Gamestop only give this game a 7? Sorry, but they are wrong once again...
@@tallonIV facts I’m literally playing it rn I just can’t put it down
@@tng_abu3201 lol same. I'm playing it on the Switch Lite and may also buy it for PS5 later. But I must say it's a perfect game for the Switch right now, especially since I was looking for an awesome game to play on it over the holidays, and just by accident, really... I found it!
Even to preschool?
@@strikerbowls791 especially preschool 😂😂😂
Game is amazing, very beautiful landscapes and exploration. I finally finished it after 40+ hours and platinum it on PS4, I had a nice slow falling bow build that struck all adds with lighting with extra dmg on headshots
Do you need to get the trophies before finishing it?
@@franzkuntschnig1320 no I finished it first, before the final fight it will ask you if you want to continue or keep exploring. So if you keep exploring it will create a save right before the final boss.
I looks amazing on the pc. I have a switch and i,am thinking about getting this game 4 my switch. Dont think it looks as good as pc but it's about the gameplay right. I loved BOTW so this is my kind of game. Good review btw👍🏻
This game was an incredible surprise. I hope this video helps more people find it.
I am 15 hours into the game (was waiting for a sale), and I really enjoy this game. I haven't even loaded Valhalla since I started this, and I was so looking forward to Siege of Paris, but it must wait. Super fun game.
The game is huge yes glinging can be challenging .its fun get your money worth
Finished the game about a week ago. Really enjoyed it but yeah, it can be very repetitive at times. Had a couple glitches and slow downs on Xbox Series X but nothing that was a deal breaker. If your on the fence about it, buy it! It's a great game.
what i adore about this game is bullshitting the vault puzzles. like this situation might happen:
what the game wants: hey move these blocks around to put on these pannels to get the fire going then shoot your arrow from your position curve it through this obstacle course, hit the flames to set your arrow on fire then curve it back through the course to ignite the sconce to lower the bridge to get across
my answer: if i just put the blocks on top of eachother then spam the spear ability to quad jump i can get on the bridge and just glide to the end. i win.
or literally firing an arrow around the vault to hit the victory target that unlocks all the air vents without needing to get to the right position to hit it. i think the only vaults i have ever done the "proper" way were the first few before i got all the godly abilities. after getting the clone statue, Ares spear and speed up/down the control of the arrow i havent done any vaults "properly" (well... other than the ones where you only fight but those arent really puzzles)
the only real change i would have of the game is adding flapping to the gliding. like press X during glide to increase altitude. make it cost a section of the stamina like the double jump but can do it multiple times. reason for this is, i really like the flying in this game due to the world being so interesting, but only gliding is annoying as hell when trying to get to certain area's and missing by just a lil bit. would it make the flying super OP at end game? probably yeah with max stamina. but by then you're super OP in every other way so why not?
Yes! Play it. Definitely setting a higher standard for BOTW2
This game was a big surprise for me. Might even be my personal GOTY, and I've played everything including CP2077, Valhalla, Legions, BL3 etc...
Would u recommend this to me? I do not like Valhalla tho haha
@@babyyyz7948 I didn't like Valhalla either. Legions was ok. IMO this game is much better than both of those.
Is the game worth playing after completing the main story without dlc?
Thanks for the review
Had lots of fun with the game. But having only 2 weapon types killed the mood after a few hours. Becomes a bit repetitive and you rapidly get all the powers and then there's nothing else to wish for. Still a fun game nonetheless
No more repetitive then Zelda faster paced good story the most fun I have had with a game in a couple of years. I'm not saying it's better then Zelda I am glad to
have both.
Great review thanks
This game looks soooo good . Cant wait to play it . I bet it looks fantastic on the PS5.
Stadia runs it best but I think it would look good on any system
I have it on PS5 and indeed it does look spectacular
Can confirm. Played about 20 hours so far on PS5. No bugs found yet and the game is beautiful.
Looks amazing. Does it have microscams ?
It has micro but they are not scams, completely optional, not that pricey, can be earned in game and not that much of a grind. In other words the only kind of MT we like. No scamming in this game my friend, its well worth it
@@mistressofdreams6031 Cheers for the be reply 😁
So far good I just wish Ubisoft did more innovation instead of copy paste their other games
I bought this game on the switch I have had a few crashes with the game but iam really enjoying it tho.
Same few crashes. But I like it.
I wish the game would let you free roam after you beat it instead of going back to last checkpoint
😂 BOTW 😂
Good game...although after 35 hours into it it started crashing. Had to skip the rest of side quest. Crashed my way to the end of the game.
Being that the game is on sale should I get the gold edition for $60 or get the standard for $35
I bought the game a few weeks ago when it was on sale at Target for $30 on switch and I feel like that was a great price for this game. I don't think it's worth $60 on the switch, but at 30 I feel like it's definitely a great game and I've invested so far about 15 hours or so. I'm having lots of fun with it and I keep getting sidetracked.
How is graphic on dock mode??
Gonna get this and wait for cyberpunk to get the ps5 series x upgrade
Yeah good idea. I have it on PC and it's an amazing game
It’s a great game so far. It’s alot more compact than AC or btow. I do suggest paying it on hard difficulty
Crossing my fingers for a sequel 🤞🏻
Best way to describe it. Is 3D anime titan quest, with a mix of Ac oddesey
So we are basically playing a videogame version of Clash of the Titans. I may have to get this to play on my 65 inch.
Happy 1st December everyone!
This year seems to have flown by real quick
I don’t need an open world game to be as big as 1:1 New York City. Make games fun again! I loved Zelda N64, played the demo of this, look tight, no fluff. Here’s hoping after 500 hours of Anthem/Cyberwank... 🤦♂️
Soooo it’s gliding, not flying....
Expressions are female but body movements and swagger are male so.. win/win.. lose/lose...
Looks fun as hell
And as usual they make the bosses so hard you just throw the game down and don't ever play it again
Having lots of crashes to desktop after about 20 odd hours, no warning, just game gone :(
Hard difficulty on lower levels is pretty hard 😅 That's combined with souls-musclememory results in catastrophy.
I bought gold edition on sale for 60 bucks, 40 dollar discount
Havent played it yet
UB has sacrificed valhalla for this 🥴
This looks more fun 😎
Valhalla is a buggy bloated mess. Boring and tedious.
Would love to do coop in this like ghost of Tsushima only just in the regular game. Wildlands is a huge world with 4 player coop why not this?
This game is great and a real breath of fresh air after how horrible cyberpunk turned out! Refunded CP2077 and playing this instead. All the different activities are a lot of fun and though it is repatitve, it's easy to mix up the different activities to keep it feeling fresh. Combat is a lot of fun, but a bit too easy once you figure out Ares Wrath can instant stun even the hardest boss fights.
I did the same and only paid $20 for this so no regrets lol
Damn. Ubisoft is just giving this game away. Wish I was a youtuber, wouldn't have had to pay full price for BOTW 2.
Would u recommend me to this game? I do not like Valhalla tho
I have a 1080ti 16gbs ram and a CPU at 3.20 GHz and the game runs fine at 1440p maxed out. but Ubisoft's servers are the worst.
Its mostly a puzzle game. Why dont you mention that?
I'm personally loving this game
Its is a 100+ hour if you collect and do everything
Wish this review would have talked about combat mechanics. I believe I heard your abilities don't have recharge time you just have a total stamina, which allows you to use the same move repeatedly if a creature has a weakness to it, would also liked to have heard more about those potion icons.
He talks at length about the combat starting around 4 minutes in
@@deathwish8672 At length?
Really like this game I just started
Best game i played on Xbox
After 7 years finally i can play a ubisoft game i like this game very much but i play on switch not a great experience. But i will buy on pc because it has cross save.
In my opinion, at least, this game is better than Breath of the Wild in literally every way.
Seems cool
Hey does anyone else use the running axe bash spam strategy
Yup, and if things get crazy I just call the "Bird" for back up. Complete the whole bird questline and get the upgrade that increase its attack by 150%. Sooooo gooood.
Please, make a review of the Season Pass.
There's nothing released for it yet.
One thing that looks awful in this game and is a HUGE problem in all Ubisoft games with the exception of the division series the enemy AI look insanely dumb and the game just seems like you’ll breeze by destroying these enemies!
Hi people, can somebody help me? I love this game but somehow my game colors are too orange and make my eye hurt. I am not good with color settings in the start of the game, so can somebody tell me what to do to change or reduce the orangeness?
I play this on my standard ps 4
I thought the same at first. Once you get off the starting island the orange goes away. It's supposed to look like that there
@@justice1kgaming212 ooowwhh i see. Thanks for the info. I havent got past first island because i want to explore everything.

There are different visuals laid out in the space gases and lights through the sky in the vaults just sayin since you said none of them are different seen one seen em all. Just sayin lol ❤️
Definitely worth it!
I think that is a fair assessment. Thank you... btw i love the game
