I honestly have one of these, Same year and engine. Just mine is a manual drive. I cannot rate mine enough. Comfy as muck to drive, sit quite high up, brakes are amazing as is the turning circle for the size of the car. The fuel economy is next to none. I have done over 300 urban miles in 2 weeks and my tank is on half full. It’s very deceptive and really does move fast. Does 70 miles a hour so quick and easy. Love it and recommend definitely

Hi mate, thanks for the videos as always, appreciated. My brother has one of these and I’m planning to buy one as well. My question is, is the automatic gives you like a kick down when it shifts gears? On my brothers car it feels like the engine manually changes the gear if you know what I mean. Or is it smoothly? Thank you
I suppose it depends how hard you depress the pedal, if you do boot it, you will feel the gear change

I see u had gearbox in manual mode alot of the time - is there a reason ?
Just bought one and noticed the lurches when it automatically does the gears, does the manual gears stop or make it smoother ?
Much smoother in manual mode for me

Hi, is the steering unusually stiff? We just bought a 2012 model which clocks at 18km on the odo so very fresh in and out. Really liked the car no doubt. But our current car before this is a Ford Ecosport which has electronic power steering and is really light on the steering specially on low speeds. But it seems to us that our Peugeot 3008 is quite on the stiff side (maybe as stiff as a pick-up truck), so we're thinking if there is a steering issue or is it just stiffer by design? thanks!

Pops Mcnamara hi, first thing to check is your tyre pressures, then feel the tyres to make sure they are not worn unevenly (scrubbed off on the inside) if they are and the back tyres are better have the tracking done at a garage and see if they will swap the wheels from front to back (diagonally assuming they aren’t directional tyres)
@@BarrieCrampton Thanks Barrie. Yes, we've check the tyres and they're up for rotation actually (since there are some tyre damage due to dry steering, but not that big and there is no issue on uneven wear). Also, tyre pressure is good (constantly monitored also by the tyre pressure monitoring sensors of the car). Regardless, the steering still feels heavy and stiff, again as compared to some Japanese cars I've driven. But there are no whining sounds on the steering pump either. By design perhaps? I haven't test driven a brand new Peugeot 3008 so I can't really compare.
its probably electric power steering as opposed to having a fluid power steering pump driven by a belt
@@BarrieCrampton It's electo-hydraulic according to the spec sheet I've seen. It has steering fluid which I'm constantly checking. I guess I'll just have to visit the dealer then. Thanks Sir.
I am really fascinated by how well this automated manual transmission perform... I drove for many months a Fiat Panda 1.2 "Dualogic" (Magneti Marelli "Selespeed" 5 speed automated manual transmission) and, despite some jerkiness at very low speeds, expecially approaching red lights and roundabouts, it performed perfectly, even better, from a certain point of view, than a conventional automatic transmission (I drive a 2004 Toyota Avensis with an electronically controlled 4 speed U341E automatic transmission, with torque converter lockup clutch). I think that if a dual mass flywheel is present, automated manual transmission with 1 single dry clutch are the future: they don't require special tools to be disassembled and they need their special oil to be replaced, a tranmission fluid filter is not even present. Just out of curiosity: on this Peugeot 3008, when you open the car with the remote and then you open the driver door, is audible a buzzing noise made by the electric pump that pressurizes the oil in the accumulator of the transmission to basically prime the transmission? On the Fiat Panda 1.2 "Dualogic" you cleary hear this noise, which I find quite annoying.

That's my wife's car lol. It's just huge, big useless dashboard made from cheap plastic. The interior is Uncomfortable at all. All the interior and the exterior cheap and weak. Taking long time to wash it, dry it and polish it... Its terrible car to have.
