This clock was recently restored due to the quarter hours jumping ahead frequently, causing the hour strikes to go off at the wrong quarters. Wait time was a few days shy of a full year. The movement was completely disassembled, cleaned, re-oiled, and re-built, and the quail bellow was worked on to give it more volume. As a result of the cleaning and rebuilding process, the gears sound a lot less crackly and grindy, allowing for more clarity of the quail/cuckoo calls and gong strikes. I may post a before and after video showcasing the improvements made.
I don't do piano recitals anymore, but I will continue to upload more performances of some obscure music on my piano when I am able to get something ready 👍
I am extremely delighted to receive a reply from you. Sir, if and all, you take any requests from your virtual audience, it will be a privilege to hear sorabji's 'Gulistan' interpretation. P.S. if you have time to explain, I am keen to know the learning methodologies which you followed to learn piano. I took up piano recently and look up to your(and many other pianists) videos as motivation and inspiration. I would be grateful if you could share any advice to enhance my piano learning experience. On a lighter note, you could share advices which you would have given to your old self just beginning to learn piano. Thank you God bless and bliss you.
One more thing Sir, in many of your previous videos, you display an unwavering appreciation and fascination with antique timepieces. I am sure there is a background story associated with it. I am extremely curious to know about it. It will be a pleasure to listen to your side of story about the same. Thank you.
@@alpha12321romeo There's not much I can say regarding my mastery of the instrument. It has all come naturally to me; but at the same time, I've put in an extreme number of hours into mastering my craft; so if it weren't for my dedication, I would be nothing. I make the most of my talent and do my best to improve as much as I can even still. So, if there's any advice I can give at all: Don't give up. When you want to give up, work harder instead. Your proficiency all boils down to when you first started (it is actually impossible to be a virtuoso unless you started playing from an early age) and how much passion and dedication you have. It is better to have dedication and no talent versus talent and no dedication. As for my fascination with clocks: I'm kind of genetically predisposed to that sort of hobby, the same way I am with piano.

That really is a cool clock...
Actually, nice clock.
