Out of curiosity, I decided to test the quality of my new phone's microphone. Obviously, nothing compares to a pair of Soyuzes, but it's certainly better than that of my old phone.

An exquisite and quality cuckoo clock with a petite-sonnerie-style chime mechanism and a 24-hour movement (it must be wound twice a day)
Opus Archimagicum Excerpt
Переглядів 2,9 тис.2 роки тому
Recorded during a practice session of the 5th movement, 8 pages in. I made some alterations to the score to make it sound more pianistic and to appeal to my tastes. This gives a rough idea of what I've done, and I plan on recording the full movement eventually, which I plan on releasing sometime in the latter half of 2023.

Prepare to have your mind blown: I like this anddd… i dont need to spread nonsense alternate history about the country he lived in. You are all brainwashed
@@quentinholmes4333 Not sure what you're rambling about, but okay
I love clocks and also clocks without the "L"
Is this even real?
Id love to own a clock like this. Very lovely
I was really surprised when I heard the slow Huisman version. I think it is much better, because it is so clean
I own the original score used for the premier of this work (I think less than an hour of it was played, only selections were performed) It has highlighting all over, some small corrections, too. After the recording of the whole work was posted on YT, which still has less than 40k views (double check that) I used the typeset version to follow-along and try some of the more accessible excerpts myself.
The ending is so epic
Thanks for the video. Nice of you that you included the score
Great Sorabjian harmonies
Is this harder then fantaisie espagnole?
@ChalumeauCauchemarLOL I've never played FE, but I would assume this is harder
This shit made my ear's bleed
@RivièreChalumeauCauchemarLOL i wish i could achieve your level of unemployment to check strangers accounts to see who their subscriber to, get a job and move out of your mom's basement ❤️

epic epic epic!
I am not the biggest fan of toccata seconda, but the nocturne is really a beautiful piece
extra-scriabinesque
no soul
What does the term "Punta D' Organo" mean?
I like a lot of Sorabji but I think these Nocturnes are where his style comes into its own. A lot of his pieces sound more intellectual to me than melodic, but ones like this are different.
I agree
It seems very difficult
Is there anything u couldn’t play since you played that and (well you played it so you could say if that’s true or not) its supposed to be the hardest piano piece ever on the top 100 hardest piano piece by caleb hu
I can play anything I want if I'm determined to learn it
Superbe. Un des multiples exemples de l'incroyable richesse de la scène musicale française de la Belle Epoque...
I really need to listen to more of his
I love this nocturne-Sorabji style
This piece sounds soo good with your amazing playing
2:20 Rachmaninoff Piano Sonata No. 2?
I hear the reference
Really amazing! Sorabji is beautiful, and this really sounds like him
4:07 chopin nocturne anyone? Sounds like op 27 no 1 at the point where it goes from the serene to dramatic
Vague resemblance, but I think it's more happenstance than anything else
love clocks😍😍
I love c-ocks
So ugly and discordant, yet so beautiful and consonant at times. It’s like looking into a black mirror and seeing an altered reflection of yourself.
Like watching a star get slowly eaten away by a black hole. The last bits of light sparkling once more before the black hole eats its away out of existence. The stars are mourning their loss but still shine once more. Their kaleidoscope of color shimmer in their own reflective luminance…
the second is beautiful
No flex but I can easily play with this with one finger
How long did this took you to learn?
@duryi6399 Not too sure. Probably 8-9 months to learn and refine it plus memorize.
you have a really beautiful piano

Moravec has an exquisitely glowing tone, delicacy of touch, technical mastery, and he captures the lush poetry of Ravel's style. Glorious!

Very dope performance. I've been inspired by you to learn this piece. Whenever I couldn't figure out good fingerings I come to this video and steal yours haha, very nice of you to include overhead camera views
Improvising at the keyboard without turning on your brain has the same result for your ears Call this music
@@azure5697 Not entirely true. There is a unique style and theory to this music, but it requires less effort to improvise music of this effect than the more traditional virtuoso style of the Romantic period.
Utterly lovely, and far removed from his radical post-scriabinist style - reminds me a lot of Faure
Sorabji so underrated and underestimated!
Hi, I like your compositions 🇨🇿
@@duryi6399 Ah, Děkuji moc. Nejsem tak dobrý skladate, ale snažím se....
I'm a simple man. I see Furtwängler, I click... wait-
The pianist has no understanding of what Sorabji is trying to convey here, therefore tarnishing the work with kitsch
darkness
You should update your channel bio from "classical pianist" to "clock"
Hi Eric i hope you're doing great. Can you play more late scriabin sonatas if you have the time ?
@@Rinnegan-l3j ya sorry Scriabin's music is too simple, cliché, and uninteresting for me at this point. I would have said yes in 2019
@@Musicforever60 Fair enough, but you can take a shot with Sorabji's other unrecorded stuff like piano sonatas 2 and 3 and maybe even some of his transcendental studies and take a break from OC and OA because honestly i started to get bored of those pieces.
Does being "classical pianist" prevent one from having any other active interests?
@@romanmakarevych4483 Good point. Doesn't seem to be "active" as "classical pianist".
