For anyone finding this video now I thought I would share another update almost two years on. Overall I have had an increidble experience. In terms of diet I slowly transitioned into eating more fats again and for the most part I can eat a standard diet. I find I can get increidbly bloated if I eat a lot foods with high fat content in one go (e.g. large amounts of avocado or a large burger), but that settles the next day. The only change I made long term was now only using a quarter of an avocado for avo toast instead of half, and I haven't had to cut out entire foods. I also haven't experienced any issues with my weight as a result, however I again am more mindful about not having too much fat in my foods then I was before. I no longer experience pain and my scars are very minimal. Overall my life after removing my gallbladder is amazing, I no longer have the pain I did before, and live my life almost exactly like I did before I had the gallstones. I hope this can help or give peace of mind to anyone who needs to have or is considering the surgury, and best of luck
Holly Nice to.know. I'm getting mine out on 2 weeks. I did ask the doctor if I needed to do this as the pain is now gone, she said better to remove it as it might happen again. So it needs to be removed. I'm nervous as others who've had it done tell me there're lots of changes to life😢. Well I'll have to wait and see But does seem to have settled down now as in no pain but eating some foods seem difficult as I bloat. Thank you very much for this post. BTW how long ago did you have yours removed and was it an emergency? Karine
HollyOnFilm, Did you need to take any medicated supplements like bile salts after your gallbladder removal? Did your doctor prescribe anything to take?
You just helped me understand why every time I eat avocados (with all their so-called fiber and cholesterol-lowering benefits), I immediately become bloated, gaseous and nauseous to the point of vomiting. Avocados contain 14.7 grams of fat, which I didn't know! My gallbladder was removed January 16, 1991 at my age of 34 while I was in the midst of gastroparesis. After learning January 15, 2013 that my gastroparesis had ceased during my last jejunostomy (August 11, 2003-August 1, 2005) and that my doctors had stuck me in a 28-year medical lie, I have been unable to eat anything without suffering severe intestinal bloat, gas, burping, constipation alternating with diarrhea and vomiting that has literally tied me to my home. On May 20, 2023, I suddenly realized that the cause of all my digestive distress is the organ I no longer have and that my surgeon stuck me in a second lie all those years ago when he told my mother I'd be okay after exploratory surgery and discovery of the diseased bladder gone in my body for 18 years (problem began at my age of 16) concluded with a laparascopic cholecystectomy. Now that I know I am producing no bile AND insufficient stomach acid, I won't eat avocados again. Well, here's the joke: On April 5, 2023, I bought Publications Int'l's _Avocado Recipes: Appetizers, Meals, Snacks, and More!_ from an ebay seller, along with nine other vegetable cookbooks. Today, I stare wistfully at _this_ one I'll not use!
Holly Nope. No medications were prescribed. Just that when I get that gastric pains to take a dose of Buscopan. Interestingly in the hospital, it was remarked how well I was coping after my surgery in getting in and out of my bed. Strangely this morning I'm suffering bad gastric attack. Buscopan not really helping either. So taken Losec. Let's see. I was contemplating not going ahead with my surgery but am glad I did do it. Don't want any further complications. How are you doing now Holly?
I suffered from gallbladder attacks since i was a teenager. I'm 30 now. I decided to have my gallbladder it removed after finding out i have a tiny stone there. I'm 3 weeks after surgery and i feel amazing. Best decision of my life.
I had my gallbladder removed yesterday. I wasn't scared of having it removed I was more scared of not waking up after the anaesthesia. It's weird to say this coming from me a nurse who is used to seeing and caring people who had sedation and general anaesthesia. But I was not against having my gallbladder removed, I have a family history of having gallbladder problems. My mom had gallstones and she did not have it removed. She was having gallbladder pain and was taking a lot of pain medications which affected her liver and she had cancer and passed away 5 years ago. I said to myself, I wouldn't want the same thing happened to me that's why I decided to go for the surgery.
My daughter has to have hers removed. She mentioned the same fear of anesthesia, I had the same fear. I suppose it’s a normal fear. I’m glad to hear so many people recovering from this surgery successfully.
@@KMRRMMK Hi. It's now a while ago. I still watch the fatty foods I eat. This still doesn't feel comfortable digesting. Very happy that I got it removed as I suffer less pain and discomfort now. I got my mine removed since April this year. Mind you still watch not to eat too fatty foods. But all in all, all good. 👍Glad I got it done.
I’m so glad your body’s healthy now, I hope you’re feeling much muck better, just like Grogu, we are here for you. It’s nice to know that you’re in less pain, I hope you have had a good recovery.
These are done all the time laparoscopically or with the robot in the OR. It is a minor procedure compared to pre-robot or laparoscopic days. The incisions are less than an inch. The bloating comes from the insufflation in the abdomen. All normal; movement, and burping helps. Don't be fearful, people. :)
Ahh, the old lady in the hospital... Legends say there is no reality when one doesn't make friends with her. Glad to hear you're okay! We will follow your recovery with lots of support!
I had my gall bladder removed on 6/11/2024 it went well , it was different , I’m 57 I haven’t had any kind of procedure for the last 13 years but anyway thank God for the doctors , nurses & recovery
I also got my gallbladder taken out at 21. I got it taken out a week ago. After a year of having abdominal pain that no one could diagnosis I found out that my liver and my gallbladder were super inflamed due to stones blocking the ducts. After a night in the ER it was pretty certain I needed surgery. It was probably the most pain I’ve ever been in for the first 48 hours but after day 3 I had no pain at all!
@@madhu__17 hey I am also 15 and my doctor is suggesting me that I get my gallbladder removed cuz it has numerous stones but I want to wait till I am a big older cuz I have my exams coming up so I want it to be postponed till I am 19 . I also wanted to ask, many people who had theirs removed told me that it won't grow if there is no pain so is it true??
@Acenegene_15 just because there's no pain doesn't mean they aren't growing. The more time passes the worst the pain and attacks will gets. The surgery really isn't bad. Just had mine removed 3 days ago and I'm glad I did because the gallbladder attacks pain is so bad.
I've had nausea and bile and all that good stuff for a few years now, only recently(October 22) did I actually have to go to the hospital, pain got way too much with the gallstones, so I am now going to have my gallbladder removed, hopefully within the month, I don't have private health cover so public system it is for me, which I don't mind it's been good to me thus far. It was nice to hear an Aussies take on it, I've watched a few videos and stuff and it seems not many Aussies talking about it, anyway good to hear it all went well, makes me less nervous. I think, and this probably applies to a lot of things, many people will share their negative experiences but not many seem to share their positive ones, I guess that's why you saw so much negative talk about it.
@@jriverar1436 I ended up not having the surgery, it was deemed too high risk, I apparently have too many varices attached to my gallbladder to risk it as an elective surgery, so I guess I just have to suffer daily with nausea until it gets bad enough they have to take it out, sucks but I get it, just a pain in the arse to be honest.
@@dallasgrant I'm sorry to hear that. 😞 I just went to my pre follow up appointment that they schedule after the gallbladder is removed. The doctor said my gallbladder was bad the color had changed and that it was changing my cells which could cause cancer if not tumors if not removed and that thankfully since it was removed I don't have to worry about anything like that from happening. I honestly didn't even know that a gallbladder could do that, because I've experienced pain for four years and this time I was like I have to take it out . I really hope that some day you can have yours taken out so that you as well can be pain free and won't have to deal with anything bad due to the gallbladder. My prayers go out to you and wish you nothing but a positive outcome and healthy Life.🙏🏽🙂
@@jriverar1436 Thanks, yeah I hope I can get it out, so far I can only see it causing issues for me and as far as I know it doesn't do a whole lot when healthy either. I have an MRI every 6 months to look at l my liver because of my NAFLD, I get blood tests too to screen for anything bad happening including cancer markers, I too didn't know and organ could turn like that, kind of scary I guess to know that an organ could just decide to do harm to it's host one day. Glad it's all going well for you, I know what the pain is like, I know what the nausea most days is like, if you can stop that that's great, all the best.
We’re so glad you’re okay Holly! It sounds like it was definitely the right decision and getting it done before you’re 22 is even better. Wishing you an easy recovery x
My father had to have his gallbladder taken out when he was 59, due to turn 60 in November of 2019. It just seemed a quiet day in June, and my father gave me a text message saying "I had to take an ambulance ride to the hospital because I was having chest pains", which slightly concerned me. Then on the night of my 34th birthday (July 16, 2019) when I was having dinner and my birthday cake with my parents, my father got a phone call from his doctor in Niagara Falls (slowly I turned, step by step...), and during the phone call, he told the doctor that he had to get his gallbladder removed late next month. Thank God my father is still with us, and it's been almost five years since my father had his gallbladder taken out. He's now 64.
I had mine out 2 days ago. I'm still sore. Slowly getting better. But I'm 58 not 22 so it will take a bit longer to bounce back. But thanks for the video. Made me more positive.
@AussieTVMusic am 56, during my annual medical checkup I was told that the gall stones have increased, the largest about 17mm. I suffer no pain or digestive problems. I am so confused whether I should get the gall bladder removed voluntarily or wait till I get some pains.
Medical student here. You made the right decision to get this taken care of now! Thank you for making this video sharing your positive experience. There's a lot of bias online, in that people with bad experiences are more likely to post their stories so you see more horror stories, so we need more of this!
I think I may be getting this surgery in the future and the thought of it makes me so worried but hearing your story made me tear up from relief because your video makes me feel like it will be okay! 🥲
@@alyceeliza7467 I’m the same I have stones and a little bit of sludge, my gallbladder gives me grief every now and again, as one try’s to escape. Are u taking anything to help your gallbladder out alyce ..!
I feel a little bad for you,I'm sorry you had to go through that experience.I'm glad that you are feeling better, and I hope you can completely recover soon .
Thank you for making this video I got this surgery 2 months ago I’m 20 and I was worried about it and was dealing with gallbladder attacks since I was a child I’m glad I got it done also it’s been a struggle for too long and now I can finally eat things without worrying about pain!
Glad to hear you are on the mend. GB surgery is so much better now when it has to be done Not to preach but please add fat back slowly into your diet esp at the beginning. The GB is simply a storage site for bile needed to aid in fat digestion but the liver will still deliver the bile as you need it. You have to pay attention to how you feel but you can still have fat but not a lot in one sitting. Simply a healthy diet like we all strive to follow.
I had my gallbladder removed yesterday afternoon and came home today I had multiple gallstones and multiple layers of sludge in it and I’m feeling it today but at the same time the pain is nowhere near what it was before but my ribs hurt
I just had mine removed at 17 a little over two days ago. I totally get it. For months I was told I had acid reflux or GERD but it was so frustrating because it felt like no one would listen to the fact that there was no pattern to my attacks-nothing food or lifestyle related. Completely random, and I have a family history of gallstones. But no-I was ‘too young’. I was rushed to the ER because of a particularly painful episode where I vomited a ton and I was given an ultrasound and I finally got the answer that I secretly knew was true in that I had gallstones and even though I didn’t have any obstructions it was incredibly inflamed. I had it removed in an urgent surgery the next day. (Thank god im still 17 because I was given priority as a pediatric case) I’m recovering at home now, trying to ignore the pain that the gas shifting in my shoulder is causing. I finally get to shower for the first time in almost a week tomorrow afternoon. There are less than three weeks left until I graduate high school and I just hope I don’t have to miss anything because of my recovery, but I’m glad that my surgery had to happen because it’s going to hopefully relieve my pain in the future. I hated my gallbladder and I’m glad it’s gone. Thanks for sharing your story :)
Be lucky you did not had mine, I had pain between the shoulder blades(felt like a knife in my back) for 9 hours and could not sit, stand or lay down and had a hard time breathing. The only thing helping me was if I was sitting on a toilet. I had to wait 1-3 weeks after that pain to have surgery(I go to private hospital since both my parents don't work anymore(their old). I got my gallbladder take out at 23 years old
@@BladeCrew okay? lol. just because you might’ve had a bad/worse experience doesn’t make me “lucky”. don’t cone in here comparing suffering with me, no reason for it. Just unnecessary.
It's good to hear that you're recovering and doing so much better. Lego Masters is starting on TV this week, so you have an excuse to relax in front of the TV 'for work'. Maybe you could do a 5 minute reaction video to the first week of the show? So you don't overdo it with making other videos too soon. Take care
Oh I’m so sorry to hear that your surgery is still on going but I’m glad that you and your body are improving and getting healthier and I hope you are ok! I love you Holly and I always will... well not in love in love but you know what I mean!!!
I needed emergency surgery last year (gallbladder removal)... it was awful. You’ll heal a bit quicker when you’re young, so you’ll likely be back to feeling totally normal pretty soon :-) Take care!
21 is very young to get a gallbladder out. Gallbladder cholecystitis (infection from stones or sludge in gallbladder / common bile duct area) is more common in females because of the hormones estrogen and progesterone which are more readily produced by women and produce stones. Laproscopic is the word. They'll often give you warfarin or something similar injections also, preferred to get those in the thigh than in the stomach area and it leaves bad bruising being a blood thinner. You can live fine without a gallbladder, definitely takes the body a while to adjust. You can eat whatever usually after a while, but bring fats in gradually as your body is trickling the bile salts into the small intestine more continuously without the gallbladder present.
@@_cottagecore_9835 I had fatty liver and gallstones had formed and I had my gallbladder removed through surgery but I still have digestive issues. The doctor has said that it will be fine in 1 to 2 weeks.
I'm supposed to have the surgery soon, but here in Canada you go back home on the same day of the surgery... It's the only point that is scaring me a lot! I would prefer staying overnight at the hospital, just in case .... maybe because i'm from Europe and there they don't release people that quick !!! Glad that your surgery went well and you are still well!! Thanks !
I'm Canadian living in Australia. Going to get mine removed on the 24th. Bit nervous doing it in a foreign country. But they're providing me overnight stay here.
I’m also getting it done next week in Canada and I’m nervous about going home the same day!!! Haha even though 2 months ago I gave birth around midnight and went home around 9 am 😂
I will also be getting mine out at 21.... After going this whole year doing Manuel labor work and being in pain and discomfort the whole time I'm excited for life with it gone
I hope you are ok Holly I clicked on this vid immediately I hope you get well soon you are so brave to go thru this and extremely admirable your the besttttt
About 3 weeks ago I had knee surgery and I was very nervous ( I won't go into much detail on what the surgery was) but it is best to get things like this taking care of before they get too bad I'm glad to see that you are all right
I had my gallbladder removed 2 weeks ago , didn’t work for 2 week full rest and going to take and 2 weeks off . I am support worker in Sunshine Coast QLD so, that’s why can’t go back to work 6week rest . Felling much batter though it’s bit uncomfortable when I walk or stand on feet for a long time . I still got my bandit on . Glad I can eat whatever I want now but changing my diet slowly. Cheers
Thanks for sharing your experience! I’m 26 I had my gallbladder removed 3 days ago and the first day after I’m terms of pain was horrific, couldn’t get out of bed or sit up on my own.. Currently I’m feeling so much better and I can get up on my own! Kinda curious to see what the rest of my recovery will be like 😄
@@KMRRMMK thanks for asking🙏🏻😊 feeling great now! I can eat whatever I want without any problem’s, but although I am limiting myself to not eat huge portions of fatty foods because of the lack of bile to break down fats. Eating a bit better now too! Been 5 months since my surgery now
I had mine taken out September 20,2024 and I am really glad I did it. Not a lot of pain but you really have to watch what you eat. Greasy foods is a no-no. You will be in the restroom in no time. I am adjusting and feeling much better and its been about a week and a half. All of my brothers, father and sister had theirs taken out. In fact my father ended up in ICU cause his burst. I was tired of the pain and nauesa.
Glad to hear it went okay! Speaking from personal experience with digestive surgeries, there were definitely certain foods I was advised against at first, but over time as my body learned how to function normally again I was able to start eating those things again, in moderation of course. Hope the recovery continues to be a smooth one!
Thank you for this video I meet for a consultation for getting surgury beginning Nov I'm so nervous but this made me feel much better. Glad that everything worked out for you and the others out there. Pray for me please. ❤
Glad your ok, mine was removed at 23 and they told me that was incredibly young. So 21 you beat me 😔, keep safe, hope everything goes ok for you, I had a few issues after the op with eating certain foods for around 4 years after but all good now. 👍🏻
I don’t have any symptoms!! I have multiple polyps fake polyps. Years ago same size but suddenly I present a gallstone the doctor says I should make cholycestomy. Because I have both
I am 23 and getting my gallbladder removed next week and Friday. I had 5 gallbladder attacks in 2-3 months. The first one was not bad, but it got worse and worse. The 3-5 one was hard to breathe and massive pain. My 5th one I had pain for 9 hours and slept at 4am in the morning, could not sit or stand or lay on my back. I had to sit on the toilet that was the only place I could be a bit more comfortable and taken inflammation and pain medication still took 9 hours to go away. I am very healthy, eating oats with banana and handful of berries every morning with coffee. Lunch is lean chicken with vegetables and at night I eat salad or vegetables again. Do snack like fruit in between and drink lots of water. It's just unlucky for us to get it. By the way, air frying chicken breast with one teaspoon of olive oil, salt, pepper and turmeric is my favourite.
@@Siyaa819 I removed my gallbladder 7 months ago and I feel fantastic, no pain and no acid reflux(severe acid reflux). I eat still normally and have no problems. I can even eat steak, pork, chicken, etc. In the first 1-3 months my body adjusted to me not having a gallbladder any more, had a hard time eating then but it gradually got better over time. Its different from person to person but overall if you have a gallbladder issue just remove it. It might take 1-3 months before you can eat normally again since you have to start slow but I am happy with the outcome. Just listen to what the doctor say and everything will be fine. The one benefit that I might have that others might not have which playes a big role is that I don't smoke and don't drink alcohol. I am moderately active and eat healthy too. Do not be scared what the internet says, just be calm and listen to the doctor. If you have questions about a problem talk to your doctor. If you don't want a knife in your back for 1-15 hours(that is how it felt between my shoulder blades) then remove it, if it does show symptoms and you did ultra sound scan.
Thank God everything went well under the circumstances you can understand why are you being nervous I have a lump in my sinus passages it’s too big to remove but at least it’s not cancerous Now you can get back into enjoying Lego
I had my gallbladder taken out 8 years ago when I was 24 and life after surgery is horrible 😢 chronic diarrhea after the surgery until now no medecine works 😢
So glad you're recovering well, Holly!! It's funny that I just had my hip replacement surgery around the same time and your experience was extremely similar to mine, even though it's two different problems. I'm 27 but we're both really young to need these surgeries... But it's really reassuring to have heard your story, so thank you for sharing it. I'm also open to chatting about it if you ever feel like it--my dms are always open. Keep up the good work (but be sure to keep wearing your compression socks!!!) ❤❤❤
Glad to hear you are feeling better and recovering well! I had mine removed at 17 (I am now 23) and was so glad when I had it out, as I had been in so much pain with it due to the stones, infection and it become distended (like constantly contracted). Couldn’t eat much or do anything at all when it got really bad. It is a fairly common surgery and would recommend it to anyone who needs it, at least based on my experience, as have had no problems at all since living without one :)
I have a lot of large gallstones I've been really sick nauses ,vomiting, tightness feeling in my stomach so tight that I'm wezzing alot using a inhaler now ,having pain daily my doctor telling me to leave it I'm so worried😂 I can't leave it I no u said u feel better and your surgery went good thank you for sharing this I'm not gonna suffer anymore my next ap I will tell him I want my gallbladder removed asap I'm very happy. for you that your not in pain anymore thank u for sharing
I am in the hospital after a second gall bladder attack and have to decide whether I want the gall bladder taken out. Most videos on UA-cam talk about the problems. I suppose most people who have problems are vocal about those but people who dont have problems don't talk about it much. I know it is reasonable to have the gall bladder removed, the attack is painful and can come at any time, what if it happens on an airplane or some other country! Thank you for sharing your story.
glad you're ok, and I'm happy you made friends with that lady, it always sucks to see a friend or family member get hurt in fact my best friend just sprained his foot:( and it also isn't fun too see a youtuber you like get hurt either, I'm a big markaplier fan and I believe he broke his foot a couple months ago, but most of the time people get better from these things and I have no doubt in my mind that you and mark and my friend will get better in no time:) thank you for coming to my Ted talk.
3days ago my gallbladder removed. My experienced after the surgery i got upper and lower back pain. The side effect of the operation.. to relief my upper and lower back pain , i do some research on youtube and follow some streched steps to cure my pain.. thanks god it helps me a lot! I can sleep now without taking pain reliever.
I had my gallbladder removed 15days ago i am perfectly alright can eat everything i wish ....i am 25 years old .i had shoulder pain post operation that's all everything went fine
Glad you’re okay and recovering well! I can relate; I had my appendix out laparoscopically a few years ago and it was also my first major surgery and overnight stay at the hospital. It was scary at first, but it went well. Wear the track pants for a while! I remember the buttons from my jeans caused a lot of pain by the incisions and I lived in sweatpants for a month.
Everyone has such a peachy story and here I am, one week later and can barely walk 3 blocks. The gas pain in my side for 4 days felt like I had gotten punched😩🤣 They kicked me out as soon as I woke up 🤣 I was soooooo tired and was out of breathe whenever I spoke. Then on top of that, my throat was sore and horse because they stuck a breathing tube down my throat while I was under anesthesia. My stomach is still bloated and these skin cealers are beginning to ITCH BAD. When I finally ate, I sat there waiting for the pain 😂 it still shocks me at how normal I feel after eating. My doctor gave me a month to heal with no work! Happy that yours went well!
Your experience sounds exactly like mine, itchy liquid bandages, gas, they kicked my butt out so fast I think my butt was showin lol! I feel better when I'm up walking but I get tired. Eating is OK but certain things cause gas. I'm 9 days in
last 2015 I was diagnosed with a gal stone also and I confined at the public hospital cos of the lack of money to used for hospital bills, surgery bills, and to buy the medicines prescribed for me. I was at the hospital for more than 1 week just to wait for the surgery schedule 😔 that was so hard here in the Philippines unlike in your country 🥺 until I can't wait for the operation date schedule and I decided to went home and sign for agreement with the hospital that in case something will happen to me. from 2015 til now I thank God cos I didn't feel the symptoms anymore til this month of July I suddenly feel the pain again and im so very worried maybe the gal stone are here again 🥺😔 I want to go to doctor to check but it's very sad cos even for our daily food sometimes im so uard to find. especially I have a mom who has a mild stroke at the age of 68, im single mom to a one child age of 10. maybe someone who can help me even just a small amount so that I can go to doctor to check for me, please someone help me 🙏🏼😔🥺
They need to teach us proper techniques to get out of bed post surgery. If it wasn’t for my previous Physical Therapist suggestion of logrolling years ago when I injured my back, I would have suffered so bad trying to get up and pee for them. I’m sorry you had to go through this but happy you had a good outcome
Hi I love your accent...so my daughter will be having this surgery tomorrow morning and she's 17 ..her stones are small but one is blocking the entrance. And she does have alot of pain so it needs to come out...thank you for sharing 😊I also had mines removed about 12 years ago but it was so much different the after soreness on my stomach was horrible...
I had my first gallbladder attack at 16 but did not have another one until I was 50 and then had them a lot and it felt like a alien baby covered in razor blades crawl from my navel to my spine so yeah I wanted it gone. That was three years ago and the scars are almost completely gone. No stones but my gallbaldder was full of gunk and had to be completely removed. It was my second surgery so I was pretty chill with it.
had my gallbladder taken out when i just turned 19 which was a little over 2 yrs ago and honestly took it like a champ. never thought i'd have surgery in my life so it really opened my eyes not to take everything for granted. i'm super glad both of our surgeries went well:) also love we have the same name 😂
Had surgery 5 days ago was only in hospital for a total of 7 hours start to finish. Everything was fine and easy to get on with until I woke up and the pain was awful and they said I couldn't have anything yet I eventually got a paracetemol/tylenol drip and it didn't help then got 2 oxygontin after pleading that I was in agony and oh the relief, but lasted about 20 minutes then got another Paracetemol drip and as soon as it was finished canula was out I was put in a wheelchair and wheeled out to my mams car. The pain was 98%from my diaphragm and shoulder from gas and phrenic nerve. I'm larger even though I had to lose 5 stone to get surgery. So I think they had to blow me up more and my surgery was longer so diaphragm got very irritated. 1st 2 days felt a bit like I'd been hit by a bus but still managed at home by myself, day 3 had shower and felt so good I'm eating small amounts of food often and reintroduced a tiny bit of cheese and butter and plain biscuit/cookie and a little icecream. None were as nice as I'd had in my head. I feel full and bloated all the sime and changing positions is an effort but every day is so much better than 1st few hours the 1st day and haven't taken pain meds today and only once yesterday. Take some kind of stool softener laxitive thing everyday and if feel urge just sit and wait, I couldn't push at all. If you need to cough hold a pillow around your abdomen. Only thing I didn't expect was how horrendous gas diaphragm and shoulder would be. I'd do it again though. So glad it's out.
Thanks so much for posting this, girl! Very informative. I'm actually getting surgery soon, too. I am wondering if you could explain more about what it was like to get put to sleep? This is the part that freaks me out!! Like, what does it feel like? How do they do it? What does it feel like when they put the stuff in, like do you get sleepy or is more like wide awake to instantly out? Could you have fought it and stayed awake if you would have tried or was it impossible? Lol. Basically whatever you remember about that part would be helpful. Thanks so much!
I remember they put the needle for the anaesthetic in my arm and I slowly started to fall asleep, I swear I remember being wheeled into the operating theatre but honestly my memory gets very fussy after getting the needle so I could have just been dreaming. It was very gradual and painless for the most part, just a small prick from the needle. Hope this helps!
I just had mine out a week ago. Ate soup for 2 days but now eating more regular healthy foods. My last rib on my right side hurts quite a bit, it actually hurts more than the cuts..was told it was gas trapped. Hope it goes away soon. Anyhoo thanks for sharing.
For anyone finding this video now I thought I would share another update almost two years on.

Nice to.know.
Karine
Thank you.
HollyOnFilm,
Did you need to take any medicated supplements like bile salts after your gallbladder removal?
Holly
Nope.
@@MrChazz965 Yes it is really terrifying to be put asleep. Hope everything goes well with her surgery. It'll be over soon.
You did the right thing. Soldier on.
Hello, can I ask you how are you now I got mine removed 3 weeks ago and still suffering through foods and fluids
Just had this surgery today. Your sharing helped me understand expectations. Thank you for taking the time! Glad you’re doing well!
Mine was horrible. Definitely worse than natural childbirth. The healing month was horrible and I like to work out. Was mentally tormenting.
You mentioned movement... Should I walk a little bit the second day ? Slowly and carefully ?
When did you have yours done?
@@alicia4him1 yes if you're able but don't overdo it
Ahh, the old lady in the hospital... Legends say there is no reality when one doesn't make friends with her. Glad to hear you're okay! We will follow your recovery with lots of support!
Having gall bladder surgery soon. It was good to know the kind of things that would happen. You are delightful to listen to and very helpful.
How r u now after your gallbladder surgery? Blessings to you 🙏✝️
Im 15 and i had my gallbladder removal surgery done a week ago .and i feel better now and i hope i will be able to go to school soon
did it hurt cuz i’m about to get mine removed soon
@kkcreation731 No, it will not hurt. Easy
How are you now mad after one year??
I just got this taken out 2 days ago. I am 30 and on day 3. The aftercare has been rough. I too cried before surgery. Thank you for this video!
I got mine removed two days ago. Mostly pain in the shoulders awful pain. But it's better than an attack those attacks are very painful.
Did u get yours removed yet..!

Luv you we all support you!
(Thank god im still 17 because I was given priority as a pediatric case)
I’m recovering at home now, trying to ignore the pain that the gas shifting in my shoulder is causing.

Take care
That sounds like a scary experience, but glad you’re okay
Oh I’m so sorry to hear that your surgery is still on going but I’m glad that you and your body are improving and getting healthier and I hope you are ok! I love you Holly and I always will... well not in love in love but you know what I mean!!!
I needed emergency surgery last year (gallbladder removal)... it was awful. You’ll heal a bit quicker when you’re young, so you’ll likely be back to feeling totally normal pretty soon :-) Take care!
I got mine today. Robotic. No pain. Very mild discomfort to right back where the GB was. I feel good!
Best of luck with your recovery!
Is that safer then laparoscopy
I got it removed at 6 years old
i am 20 and got my gallbladder removed yesterday, ive been struggling for 5 years so it was horrible and im so glad its done
Are you able to eat everything again including fats..did you have any liver issues like fatty liver??

How are you?
Are you fine now
@@Siyaa819 I removed my gallbladder 7 months ago and I feel fantastic, no pain and no acid reflux(severe acid reflux).

I was at the hospital for more than 1 week just to wait for the surgery schedule 😔 that was so hard here in the Philippines unlike in your country 🥺 until I can't wait for the operation date schedule and I decided to went home and sign for agreement with the hospital that in case something will happen to me. from 2015 til now I thank God cos I didn't feel the symptoms anymore til this month of July I suddenly feel the pain again and im so very worried maybe the gal stone are here again 🥺😔 I want to go to doctor to check but it's very sad cos even for our daily food sometimes im so uard to find. especially I have a mom who has a mild stroke at the age of 68, im single mom to a one child age of 10. maybe someone who can help me even just a small amount so that I can go to doctor to check for me, please someone help me 🙏🏼😔🥺
Girl hope you get well soon
They need to teach us proper techniques to get out of bed post surgery. If it wasn’t for my previous Physical Therapist suggestion of logrolling years ago when I injured my back, I would have suffered so bad trying to get up and pee for them. I’m sorry you had to go through this but happy you had a good outcome
I am having mine taken out 5th Thankyou for this video hope mine is ok too loving with this pain 3 yrs soon to be all over xxxxx
So glad to see that you are well 😉✌
I hope you feel good!
Thanks for sharing your story, I will be having my surgery on 2/15..
Just had mine removed. They gave me an IV medication to relax on the way to the OR; I was out before getting there.
How long do you think it took
I just had mine out a week ago. Ate soup for 2 days but now eating more regular healthy foods. My last rib on my right side hurts quite a bit, it actually hurts more than the cuts..was told it was gas trapped. Hope it goes away soon. Anyhoo thanks for sharing.
My mum and all her siblings (plus her doctor) have had their gallbladder removed. Makes me wonder if I'll end up with gallstones in the future too
Maybe. I have to get mine out next Thursday. Mum, my nan and my aunt all had to get theirs out. Genetics can definitely play a part but not always.
