- A full tour of the rooms and trails at Ray's Indoor Mountain Bike Park in Cleveland, Ohio. Most videos only show one or two rooms, so we decided to do a comprehensive tour of the whole park as it stands in early 2019, including the beginner and novice areas.

I heard the owner of this place used to struggle with alcohol, and he started this place up to give youths in the area who may be struggling with addiction an opportunity to find a passion and drive for something. It's even better when you think about that.
V.I.F. Lies
Purgatory RUST u sure
@@flynnclemons8520 I'm not sure about the second part about serving the young people in the community because I can't find anything online about it, but someone told me they read it in a newspaper. The part about Ray recovering from alcohol addiction around the time he was starting this place is definitely not a lie though. You can find it on the Ray's MTB website.
What a BIG FAT LIE! You would be ashamed 👎👎👎👎👎🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
what is a youte?
The engineering and planning for this place is what really amazes me
Looks pretty boring tbh. I've seen places that have full mountain terrain indoor, meaning it has trees, real dirt/gravel/terrain. They even have a course that starts at 65ft and ends at 0ft.

I'm not even biker and I find this amazing!
If your a decent rider with some bottle then this is great to watch for riding locations and stuff but he's not the best rider but that's okay 😊
@@dannocannon856 Better than you.
Same I skate and this seems so cool makes me wanna try
Verify_ turtles I was a skater then I started downhill mountain biking. It’s sick, still love skating though. This place looks unreal would love to go.
Y'all I'm a skier I SUCK at biking, but this place is amazing! They have a ton of low-consequence features, easy jump lines, etc. and a massive variety of progressive terrain to challenge yourself as much or as little as you want. If you can pedal a bike and you can follow common sense park etiquette as seen in skiing and skating, you should definitely check this place out
I LIVE IN CLEVELAND AND HAD NO IDEA THIS EXISTED!

I live literally about 30 mins from here and I have been there a few times and let me tell you something. IT IS AMAZING. I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone that is a lover of biking and indoor trails and fun. There is SO MUCH to see and do here. I still haven't done all the rides, and I have been there 6 times. I have to agree. The pump track is ALOT of fun.
6 times and you havn't done everything? Were you by the snack machine the whole time or something fatty?
@@TacticalBeUnless you want to ride everything once, and leave. Its going to take you about 4-6 hour. And after 3-4 hours you are already tired, and worn out. But once you find something you really enjoy riding, you are not going to want to leave that area, and then the next thing you know its been 4 hours and you need to head home. So no I haven't done everything.
i went to fast on the first ramp after the drop in on the pump track and i ate shit. but it’s definlty still my favorite one there it’s fairly easy for new riders also my first time ever at the park i rode the pump track
i was just there yesterday the green trail is super awsome. it takes u around the whole park and it goes above everyone else u can almost touch the ceiling and then it’s a huge drop and a turn it’s super fun
@@AP-007 that it is.
I found out that every spot is one of their favourites lol
They probably only showed their favorites
OMG. This beautiful concept should be spreading around the world. In every old and not used building such as old factory something like this should be setup for the mountain bike lovers. 👍👍👍👍👍👍😃
Truly amazing and great 👍 😃😃
I agree, but if you notice the place ain't packed. You can't have a successful business with only 6 customers.
Remember Vans Skateparks?
This was midday on a Tuesday. After 5 and on weekends it's packed!
@@JustLikeHeaven77 Well, the Vans skatepark that was in Orlando closed as the mall they were based out of changed ownership and their lease was canceled in order to redevelop the property. So, in that case, it was not a lack of customers that led to the closure. Idk about the Cali one tho.
@@TheAlpacaAlliance
Vans Skateparks closed when Jay-Z bought the brand and raised prices. Then he shut them down to take over entertainment and make his own. He also owns Airwalk. Very sad, cuz I loved his music before then.
I live in Orlando and used to ride the Vans park all the time. Apparently a fashion corporation called Vanity Fair bought the Vans name just for the apparel. They closed the skatepark cuz they didn't want to pay for it... just the shoes and clothing brand. So sad. That was one of the greatest skateparks in the world. Still miss it.
Architects: So how cool and awesome do you want us to make it?
Owner: yes
i dont get it
the place actually works... guarantee architects weren't involved
@@TommyTom21 it doesn't take architects to build wooden ramps inside an already existing warehouse, the owner probably built it himself or hired contractors to build and install the ramps. Architects design buildings.
@@TheFonzieProductions I think it would be easy to design. Get a piece of paper and start drawing tracks!
"Do you love mountain biking but hate fresh air?"
Sam snow exists you know
You know nuthin’ Sam Snow!!!
There's this crazy element that's white, it's called SNOW and then there's ICE which greatly reduced the coefficient of a physical property called friction, which is something favorable when you want to do something called stopping, accelerating or any change of direction or speed. This phenomenon occurs typically in winter time but can occur as early as late fall or late as early to mid spring. And in Australia those snow seasons would be the polar opposite.
Think you'll find enough fresh air in there... Its a big warehouse man. Things to consider: weather doesn't always permit exciting biking. You can't always find these predictable and safe features like these just out and about. Generally, the public get annoyed with you when you using public ways that are all there to serve the walking public with safety features (handrails, slopes for disabled access ect) and don't want people on bicycles damaging property or suddenly just getting in the way or running the risk of over shooting and being in a road in the way of a bus or car. This is a very nice clever idea and I hope they make one here in the UK one day!
@@gmangsxr750 Haha 🤣
we need more underrated sportstudios like this to pop up in europe. this should be in every big city damn looks hella fun
that place is nuts Don't think we have anything like that in uk :(
Not currently, but Manchester has the Dirt Factory opening in Feb, big indoor bike park!

I really appreciate how much natural lighting is used in there really can make a crappy day outside feel nice inside
Went to Ray’s yesterday for the first time since I’m home for the holidays. Such a cool place! Good video guys!
I visited in 2014.. So this was cool to watch, I remember a lot of it being as it is in this video. I wear my Ray's shirt regularly and occasionally it's good for a conversation starter. The best part about Ray's was getting ride my MTB in the middle of February.. in Ohio. (I am from Ontario)
This place is a dream.
This place looks awesome damn I wish I was in Ohio
777Ken ok well, let’s not go that far.
Famous last words before actually going to Ohio
Yeah trust me Ohio’s weather will make you regret that
This guy obviously hasn't lived in Ohio lmao it's a perk but that's about it smh
Eek no you don’t 🤮
I literally can’t even ride a bike but i’m obsessed with this
I’m a relatively amateur mountain biker however one of the greatest things is that this park doesn’t seem to have any thing that I wouldn’t be able to do whilst still maintaining the challenge that better mountain bikers crave
Amazing! Nothing like that that I know off near Vegas.
Doesn't snow that often in Vegas does it?
@@CoderShare we have a weather problem still....its called 119 degree heat in the summer. Equally as bad as snow...just opposite.

Same deal in Florida. I want an indoor park.
The people who build this deserve the Nobel prize!
Such a fun video, thanks for sharing & thanks for the heads up about Ray - he definitely deserves the community’s support.
What a great place! Thanks for sharing this video guys!
*No biking in the halls*
That looks amazing. I wish there was something like that where I live for the long winter.
How did I miss this video, this place is amazing,I could spend hours every day there. It looks like so much fun.
Not a biker but man this looks amazing. So much engineering in one place
#RideforRay hope Ray will make a full recovery or at least able to ride again .
Good video showing the sections. You can spend all day there practicing on the skinnies, jumps, rock garden or pump tracks. They even hold clinics there to help advance your skills.
It's a great place to ride during our crappy winter's. The freeze/thaw cycles close our trails (clay dirt trails are slow to dry). Also fresh deep snow limits us until the fat bikes mow down a path for everyone else (I don't own a fat bike.. yet!).
They also change things at the end of the indoor season, so if you have been in the past it may be a little different now.
Awesome, thanks for the ride through of Ray's. It's definitely on my list of places to ride.🤙❤
Wow!! We never knew a place like this existed! Very cool! Thanks for sharing!
What a cool place! Thanks for sharing 😎
I also liked how you highlighted where you were in the map, super rad 👍
Great vlog! Would love to have something like that in the southeast.
Damn must have taken forever to build this place, I imagine some pretty gnarly injuries have gone down here
Bad injuries happen on every trail. Even the sidewalks outside your house.
I was on the expert track going down a hill, fell off sideways where there was no side barriers- probably ~ 8 foot drop. That ended my day there😂
The park is actually really well-designed. I'm always amazed by how flowy it is in such a small-feeling space. The main reason for injury isn't the course as much as just user error (taking on things you're not skilled enough for). That can (and will) happen to matter where you ride. In fact, trails in the woods have trees trying past you constantly, with roots bucking you here and there, and dirt can be slippery. Having ridden all the above, I actually feel safer at Ray's - as long as I'm not doing something stupid like mucking about the BMX section with a 29" mountain bike or blazing through a new trick section full speed without scouting it out first.
Looks like great winter fun. Great review.
Lovin the race Macky. Thanks for letting us in. Go macky i hope you get into the top 10 tomorrow.

I haven't been to Ray's in 7-8 years (would go when visiting my parents in OH), but it looks like they've REALLY up'ed their game and kept expanding. Impressive.
Ok just gotta say that this place and this video blew me away. Thank you so much for showing us this amazing bucket list worthy place!!

I remember seeing this place on road fools, pretty cool it’s still around
Been biking all my life and i work around the corner from this thing, small world bcuz i never knew
I think they sell bike "stuff" too.
It would be sick to work here and ride after hours man
Sweeeet! looks like a pretty amazing setup and great way to keep in shape thru the coooold winter months and or just for keeping skilz up yr ‘round! very cool 💪🏼👊🏼
I make a trip to this place every year and I still enjoy it every time
This is one of the COOLEST things I've seen in a long a$$ time !!! NOTHING like that out here in LA..
Great video!
Except the high-fives😂😂
What an awesome place. Never had cool places like this when i was young.
I remember the Ray's in wisconsin that place has since closed down but I loved that place so much and it was two stories I was very sad to see it go
Never been mountain or even offroad biking, only streets and sidewalks, but I watch lots of GoPro videos, including biking, skiing, squirrel suits, boating, diving, etc. I'd love to try this place, but would definitely need to do more body training and cardio to make it last more than just an hour or two!
The only time ever that people have thought "man I wish I lived in Cleveland."
🖕Cleveland rocks 🎸 😎
How exciting, what an amazing place!!
That looks like so much fun. That was not a long weekend to build, that is really a special place.
This....place...is.......AWESOME!!!!
What a fantastic concept. WHY are there not more of them around??
I know a man who owns one of the oldest bike shops in town....and another bike guy who's BIG into racing...like so big...he has his own track at his place....and has a semi to go to races and shows.....I need to run this buy them.....
Love this so much coolest indoor park I have seen yet
I was just in Cleveland for family vacation, didn't know that place exists, I'm gonna go there next time were in town. Place looks awesome.
I've been to one kn Minneapolis, i was a complete beginner and there was plenty of stuff for me. And as I got more confident, there were plenty of trails to slowly build up my level. It was awesome, had a foam put too.
cant believe I missed this when in I was in Cleveland last month fml
I didnt know this was a thing and I'm from Ohio. I'll have to check this out
I love Ray’s, too. The guys who run this place are awesome people.
Awesome video! Really fun to watch
Looks more like an indoor BMX track but wood instead of clay. Cool track. Whoopty doe section looks fun.
Every bikers’ dream when they were quarantined
It was sadly closed during quarantine. They close from April to September because everyone is outside riding and they use the time to repair and build more!
I used to go here every year, it’s such a cool place! Totally forgot about it till now
This place is insane! Grand Rapids needs a place like this so I can go ride my new titanium bike during the winter!
Liked, subscribed, and....
..added this to my bucket list.
I'm 6'3" so I'd be ducking and afraid was gonna hit my head on one of those rafters or ceiling joists when jumping.
archbold1206 this is probably the first time spellcheck correctly fixed your spelling to ducking.
Nah, youd be good. Have gone with tall friends and it's not a problem. It feels low, but theres enough room.
same height. gets you used to ducking tree limbs in the wilderness
I live south of cleveland and had no idea this place existed. Thanks 4 this video. Gonna look into this
We used to go to the one in Milwaukee but I think that closed down a few years ago because of budget and liability reasons. But when we did go it was definitely a fun long day of riding. The one in Milwaukee I think was in an old Menards warehouse.
Love that place I have been there a couple times if u live by there u should definitely go

Nice
When your in Ohio, try to go to Yellow springs (John Bryant State park). It’s got multiple trails for mountain biking and it’s got some nice climbing. The trails range in miles up there and difficulty levels. It’s got over twelve miles of mountain biking trails.
From a local, nice video, covers the majority of the entire park. 👍🏻
That place looks amazing indeed
Cant imagine this company's insurance each month!!
Liability waiver? All of them
In most of course the ceiling looks kind of low, image you jump to high and bang your head on one of those cross steel beams
Standard Liability waiver. Same as any major outdoor park.
7:17 thx for telling me
Couldn't see u were still going
Me neither
Awesome place for winter fun
Rays is easily the most fun you can have on a bike, I remember going when I was 13 and the staff was a welcoming team that told me where to go around the park, microwaved my frozen burrito and lended me a Allen wrench.
The locals are just as friendly all around an amazing environment for any age or skill level!
I'm booking a holiday to Ohio, that place is fantastic for the winter months
My brother helped build this park years ago
Aleg Juul why the duck you lying!? Why you always lying!? oh my fricking gosh, stop fricking lying!

Wow I lived in Cleveland my whole life and never heard of this place. I'm going to have to check it out
Great video guys place looks fun especially in the Winter months
ROAD TRIP!😊😉
I know every single line by heart so not sure why I'm watching this lol, maybe just wanted you to get a view for doing such a good service. I would've loved this the first time I went. Also I wanted to see if I was in the video in the background, ha.
It's hard finding a vid of this place that caters to new riders going there for the first time. So after me & my wife went, I made my own video so that future newbie riders will have somthing to really see what they're getting in to. All the vids with people flying all over the place are great and all, but they leave out the little guy. So anyway, here's the vid: ua-cam.com/video/iPjHuuK73G8/v-deo.html
Yeah buddy! 🤙
Glad to see dude nailed the backflips, at the end! 😃👍👍
Sooooo fun. Pangs of nostalgia as I watch from Milwaukee where Ray's closed, mysteriously and quietly. The MKE Ray's was at least as good as this looks, with the exception of the pump track, only because this pump track looks amazing. My skills at jumping, balancing, and riding features has never been the same.
going there next weekend, only a 3 hour drive for me!
Buffalo needs this! Our real estate is cheap enough to buy to make this a reality.
you look like a realtor LoL
Now I want to go back and visit Cleveland again just to go to this...
This looks AWESOME!
MATE THIS PLACE IS EPIC. I would build it in Australia so we can ride in Summer... yeah summer. We had 120 F recently. Plus it would be a safe place for kids to ride. Overall an amazing idea. Brilliant.
120° ouch!!! Sounds like Australia would be a really good place!
I'm thinking the same way but in Turkey
But i was wondering if it's ok to make something similar like them
You nevada mate
they open up "The Factory", in Minnesota. indoor bike park. nothing like what you got there.
hmtb 763 I go there and that’s mostly bmx, the jumps are insane there especially the vert wall
It’s better ngtl
Yeah not even close to the same, I went once and haven't gone back
Looks incredibly fun.
I haven't ridden since I was a kid, and this makes me want to get a mountain bike just in case I ever go to Cleveland. I may make a special trip. This place looks awesome.
Omg this is awesome! Too bad square meters in the Netherlands are too costly to be able too run a place like this (profitability). Very nice 👍🏻
cant run one profitably in the usa either . that space would cost way to much to operate monthly especially in winter to heat . and in the summer people would bike outside i would believe ? the test will be how long this place stays open ? can not imagine there would be enough mountain bikers using this facility to cover costs ? but i could be wrong ?
They've been open for years actually. But they are only open in the winter so that cuts down on cost. And I can attest that they heat minimally, so dress warm 😊
This is the place where Cory “puppy arms should’ve been a mini horse” Berglar gave himself the biggest concussion ever 😂😂
This place is a lot of fun. I live in Cleveland I'm not really a biker but I went there a few times and it's a lot of fun.
It's an amazing indoor MTB track. Very impressive.
