This is sick.. For some reason when I bring in my keyed footage I see the emission from the cube behind my footage shining through some holes that aren't actually there.. I double checked my keyed footage in Da Vinci and I have no idea what's happened.. Could anyone help me out?
Brilliant. I've done a lot of green screen but had never thought about using 3D lighting to interact with the oultine of a keyed video. Gonna make a music video using this technique for sure.

Nice tutorial, will give this a go myself :) I wonder if it could be done entirely in Blender - I know you can chroma key and colour correction should be possible in the compositor. Would be awesome if all of this could be done in the one piece of software rather than having to rely on other (not free) software to complete the look.
You could consider camera tracking the green screen footage to eliminate the feet hovering or camera orientation issues, theres a free addon that allows you to import after effects compositions into blender,..it add a camera with all the movement information as the actual footage

If you are confused on how I changed the background to black. Click the world properties tab and change the colour to black.
