I really appreciate that way you talk through your thought processes, is so clear and easy to follow, and to understand the decisions you make. Total awesome. 👍👍👍
Another great project, Tamar, and a good one for folks getting started. One trick you can use when adding those hooks is start one in the hole you predrilled, then chuck another one into your drill and link it with the one you want to drive. The hooks work against each other and will put them in without all the hand twisting.
Tool- a device or implement, especially one held in the hand, used to carry out a particular function. You missed the tape measure and clamps. Really liked your straight edge jig. Oh that’s a tool too lol. So, 11 tools? Awesome job as usual
Really nicely done. Living in the UK having a pool is such a luxury idea that I will never actually build this one but I like your way of building and explaining things. In fact, I subscribed about 2 or 3 weeks ago and have just binged your entire video stock! Thank you so much, I am just starting to get into woodworking (a bit late at 35, but there you are!) and all of your videos are really helpful and just so relaxing to watch even though I appreciate they aren't always relaxing for you to make! Cheers, Dom
Hi, It is always a joy to see you appear with a new video. Nice project to keep everything clean and tidy. Just keep reminding the kids to put away their toys themselves. The cedar is a good choice, goes a long time and looks very nice. Keep it safe, it is not over yet. Willy from Belgium 😷😷😷
What a handy pool equipment organizer! It turned out GREAT and so nice you did it with minimal tools for those who do not have a shop. I like how well you always explain everything too. Keep up the great video's and have a wonderful summer!
Great video as always. I don't own very many tools but I still enjoy woodworking with the few tools that I have. It's nice to see how you are able to improvise when needed. It inspires me stay out of the store to buy more tools. I like that you include your mistakes. I've made more than a few and there's a generally a creative way to recover from them. I'm definitely going to build that jig since I don't own a chop saw, table saw or a guide for my circular saw. A piece of laminate shelving has been my circular saw guide but your jig will cut down on the measuring.
Another very easy to understand video!!! That’s why I love your videos, cause it helps me (a novice) to woodworking!!! We need more women like yourself in the world.... you’re husband is a very lucky man....
Thanks for showing us your error!!! It's empowering to me to watch a pro make a mistake, as I KNOW that I will make AT LEAST one mistake! Thanks for the video!
Dont forget the classic elbow hammer, and the running foot hammer when it's really stuck... Also, loved the deep breath after realising youd made mistake, I can relate to that!!
We all love it - it's real, and quite refreshing that it happens to everyone, often it's the way you have to just take a deep breath and then find a solution. Thanks for the great vids, stay safe
Another great video. I always enjoy seeing your process, attention to detail and honesty about mistakes (since they are inevitable in just about every build). Definitely encouraging and inspiring for those of us who limit our work to the weekends.
Looks great, Tamar, and really handy. I just sold my house with a pool so I won't need one but could have used it years ago. Take care and enjoy your pool. Bill
That came together nicely Tamar, fits the things real well. You handled your mistake well. With the setting sun and disappointed look on your face, I thought thing were going to escalate for sure! Lol glad you saved it
I don't know what world you live in but you used way more tools than you think... claps, all types of rulers, different types of drill bits, saddles for the work bench. sure you don't need them but boy do they make a huge difference !!!
You are a Jig Sensei! Have made tracks for circ saw before but never thought of adding a square to it. : ) Great video. Oh you forgot the most important tool, your brain. : ) Mahalo for sharing!
Really enjoy watching you build projects you simplify explaining things in understandable ways . Keep up the great work . If you have the tools why not use them but that could of been made with a screw driver and a saw 😊💯👍💪
Tamar, I enjoy your vids for two reasons; 1- you know more than I do. 2- You include your mistakes. Which is evidence of a sense of humor, and more importantly, growth! This is all but lost on the male of our species. Cheers
Nicely done Tamar. I laughed out loud when you said "Dofus"! I guess most of us that do any type of wood working would fall into that category. Have a great weekend!
Great project and I'm liking your take on the saw guide but a speed square might have helped this build a bit... it looks good and I liked the video too.
Love your ideas. Maybe get yourself a silicone wedding band. I have crushed a couple of rings carrying heavy stock and such. No fun cutting off your wedding band.
For me a "tool" is everything a random person does not necessarily own and just want to make this piece. So... Thicknesser Measuring tape 3 clamps Speedsquare (or something like it) to make the jig Safety glasses Ear protection Circular saw Drill Drill bit Screw bit / Screwdriver (am not counting the pocket hole jig, since it can be accomplished with skill freehand or by screwing in from the side) Sander 1 Parallel clamp Forstner bit (for the handles in the box) So I count 15 used tools (counting each clamp separately [and not counting the hand hammer ;P ]) Nice job!
I actually built a storage bench for a client for pool items... do you get high winds in your area? Maybe add a couple of bungee cords. As hold downs for summer storms?
Love the tool count it made me laugh. I'm thinking miter saw and screwdriver were plenty to get the job done but since you added the hand hammer yours came out perfect 👌
Hmmm...When you said 'little tools as possible' I was expecting a 'Bear Grylls' build for this project where you use just a hammer, screwdriver and pocket knife (maybe not even the pocket knife) 😐 Oh well. Lol. Oiled cedar looks great. Nice build.👏
The word "challenge" would mean to me that I _resist_ the temptation and not use my fancy tools, even if I have them. The thing what you did here is closer to just "count the tools I use". :) I expected you use only one circular saw and a manual screw driver. Or just a manual saw for sawing and driving screws. Or some similar crazy idea. :) Anyway, this little furniture you made here is awesome, cute, and very useful. I think I will build my own one for my 3 kids when you send the Summer through from US to us into Australia. :) And yes, I can confirm, if kids have N pairs of goggles then we need just one more. :D
Well it’s actually 19 tools all together. Yes a pencil and a ruler count as tools in addition to that your piece of scrap wood that accidentally made you have a mistake that’s still a tool though but it’s a great video and you did a great job ;) Also your wood jig because it is a jig and you’re using it as a tool while you’re assembling that is a tool also you have a lot of tools lady😍
Brilliant! you are sooo cool love your vids, but hey,are clamps not a tool? and a tape, how about building something without power tools? thanks for posting I enjoy everytime. Love from the UK
Noticed weather clouded over when you made a mistake. As always interesting and absorbing presentation, so much so I forgot to count. Then I couldn't decide if measuring tools, the homemade board for square cuts and clamps should be in the count. Ah, what the heck. Just enjoy the video!
I really appreciate that way you talk through your thought processes, is so clear and easy to follow, and to understand the decisions you make. Total awesome. 👍👍👍
Thanks so much! That's so awesome to hear!
I really love this channel. Strangely I find it relaxing to watch. Also, really appreciate you pointing out your mistake(s) and how you correct them.
Ha. That’s awesome to hear
I love that circular saw jig! These ideas for basic/starters are just spectacular.
The hand saw jig idea is super cool. Definitely gonna make one.
Glad you liked it!
Whilst I may not have a pool, your methodical approach and workaround when you encounter stuff ups is greatly appreciated.
Thank you Tamar 🥰👍
Glad you still liked it!
Liked the simple circular saw jig. Will make one myself as always use and never straight. More like that would be great !
Glad you liked it!
Another great project, Tamar, and a good one for folks getting started. One trick you can use when adding those hooks is start one in the hole you predrilled, then chuck another one into your drill and link it with the one you want to drive. The hooks work against each other and will put them in without all the hand twisting.
Thanks! Yup! That’s a neat trick when you have lots of them to do
Tool- a device or implement, especially one held in the hand, used to carry out a particular function.
You missed the tape measure and clamps. Really liked your straight edge jig. Oh that’s a tool too lol. So, 11 tools? Awesome job as usual
I had the same thought. Also the saw horses and scrap plywood (work table).
Yeah, that's a cool little jig. I don't think of tapes and clamps as tools... I would categorize them as accessories. ha
That’s a fun project, it’s good to teach kids to always keep their stuff organized .. I enjoyed watching it being built ..thank you
Glad you liked it! Yeah, so far the newness of it all is helping them clean up, we'll see how long that lasts.. ha
Hola Tamara, debo de decirte que a mi mujer y a mi nos a gustado mucho el vídeo, muy práctico y muy bien pensado, muchas gracias y un saludo.

That’s so awesome to hear! Such a fun hobby to get into
Thank you for showing how you could do a project with so few tools! I am a big fan of the Alton Brown approach.
Glad you liked it!
Hi,

Nice project to keep everything clean and tidy.
Just keep reminding the kids to put away their toys themselves.
The cedar is a good choice, goes a long time and looks very nice.

Thanks, will do! So far the newness of it is motivating them to clean up after themselves. ha

You can always try to motivate them longer.
I hope you'll be successful.

Definitely handy having a drill and a driver. I know because i only have a drill, lol. I get my old corded drill out sometimes to make life easier .
It’s the little things that make a difference. Ha
I always love how you just keep it simple to make it possible for everybody. Thanks a lot!!
Glad you like it! Thanks!
Great circular saw jig/guide!
Another great project and a nice jig. Great job Tamar.

Glad you found it helpful!
Now I know where to find the pool accessories when I go pool hopping at your place.
It's funny, I keep having to remind the kids that we have all this stuff stored in there, it's like out of sight out of mind with them...
Thanks for showing us your error!!! It's empowering to me to watch a pro make a mistake, as I KNOW that I will make AT LEAST one mistake! Thanks for the video!
Clamps and tape measure are tools imo. Love the video showing something simple.
Ha. Glad you liked it
The hand hammer - best tool ever, I never leave home without at least one!!
Haha! Wish I had 3....
Dont forget the classic elbow hammer, and the running foot hammer when it's really stuck...
Also, loved the deep breath after realising youd made mistake, I can relate to that!!

craigjsanderson there has yet to be a project that I didn’t make a mistake on. Ha. You too!

Great job Tamar nice little project looks super duper cool

Thanks! i'm so happy I finally got around to building it, ha
So very cool. I really love all your projects.
Thanks!
Great idea to make a pool toy organizer! I definitely need it.
Great little project to feel productive. Thanks for sharing Tamar !!
Thanks for watching! Glad you liked it! It was a long overdue project... Glad I finally got it done.
That came together nicely Tamar, fits the things real well.
You handled your mistake well. With the setting sun and disappointed look on your face, I thought thing were going to escalate for sure! Lol glad you saved it
Haha! maybe they escalated off camera 😉
@@3x3CustomTamar gasp! If I had pearls, I'd be clutching them 🤣
I usually make a jig to keep all the spots to drill even. It’s sort of like your saw guide in looks. I keep one just for 2x4 size.
Great tip!
Great job Tamar, the hand hammer saved the day :)
Thanks! It usually does!😂
I love that jig for the circular saw! I Don’t like to use mine because I dont like to measure every time haha but this will change my life
Haha! Yeah! It’s a good one
Great project. Nicely done with minimal tools and most amazing just 1 JIG!! 😎
Haha! Thanks!
Nice build! I love it when stuff is well organized.
Thanks! Me too! The pool mess always stressed me out. I'm in a happier place now 😂
3x3Custom - Tamar haha👍👍

Pocket hole jig is for sure a tool.
I guess so!
Great fun. Thanks for sharing.

Love the video, but of course opening up the discussion of tools ... don't forget the Clamps and Measuring Tape ... we can let the pencil slide ;)
Haha thanks! I think I would categorize those as accessories, not tools. Like all the drill bits too... where do you draw the line?! ha!

For me a "tool" is everything a random person does not necessarily own and just want to make this piece. So...
Thicknesser
Measuring tape
3 clamps
Speedsquare (or something like it) to make the jig
Safety glasses
Ear protection
Circular saw
Drill
Drill bit
Screw bit / Screwdriver
(am not counting the pocket hole jig, since it can be accomplished with skill freehand or by screwing in from the side)
Sander
1 Parallel clamp
Forstner bit (for the handles in the box)
So I count 15 used tools (counting each clamp separately [and not counting the hand hammer ;P ])
Nice job!
Haha! but the hand hammer is the most essential tool of them all!
