Three Of The Most Anticipated & Exciting Guitars Releasing In 2024 (at least we hope)

- 2024 is looking to be an awesome year for new guitars coming out. We strongly hope to see new guitars from John Mayer, Dave Grohl, and John Frusciante. There is a very good chance we will see these three incredible guitars release at some point this year thanks to evidence from the past year. John Mayer's new charcoal finished Silver Sky that we saw him play during the Sob Rock Tour & on the Solo Tour has been a highly anticipated release since 2022. Dave Grohl playing an Epiphone version of his sinature DG-335 at ACL is all but confirmation that there is a more budget friendly guitar coming from him. Lastly, John Frusciante playing what is clearly a replica of his iconic 1962 Strat on tour sure seems like he is road testing an upcoming signature model that could release this year.

I’ve been waiting for years for an affordable DG-335. They got so close with the Pelham Blue ES-335 they did. I will definitely be buying that guitar when it releases.
No doubt it'll be like £800/1000$
I want the DG Epi. But it's probably going to push eye-wateringly close to $2k. $1799 is my guess.

JF doesnt want one, Fender has approached him in the past and he said no. JF sitnature would be a gold mine for Fender. only reason it wouldnt happen would be because JF says no

Definitely need a DG 335. As long as they do the Epi as an "inspired by Gibson" model that has the higher end components and Gibson pickups I really do not care that the headstock has the Epi logo. But they need to keep the price tag around the $1,300 they have been pushing. Going to $1,500 like they have done with the Kirk Hammett models would be highly disappointing. I really like the idea of having a John Frusciante signature Strat as well. The possible prototypes he has been playing do leave a bit to be desired. Without relicking (not sure if that's actually a word) the wood under the finish, it kind of makes the guitar look cheap. Hopefully the execution turns out better or maybe Ill just have to play it enough to look more natural. Super stoked on those two guitar for sure.

If fender makes a John Frusciante Strat like they did with the Mike McCready Strat, they can definitely put me down for one.
my dream guitar is a Gibson DG-335. current prices of the existing ones are truly unobtainable. i wouldn’t be totally opposed to a trini, but i’m a 50s neck guy and don’t want a 60s neck (ie trini), and would prefer the stop tailpiece. that said, i’m really hoping to see a re-release of the DG-335. i’d be stoked to see both Gibson and Epi versions, though i’d be looking for a Gibson myself.
I'd love the Fruciante Strat . But I'd not pay £1500 of a MIM version . Likewise an Epi at £13-1600 is not worth it .
have a very early road worn MiM Strat in 3tsb and the relic looks incredible. the newer MiM relic Jobs Look a bit artificial in my opinion. Also have a american vintage II 61 3tsb for around the same price as the MiM mc creedy. by the way no relic but the pu's in the vintage II are incredible 😉

I’m really enjoying all your information about these guitarists. I was going to add a suggestion to add Joe Bonamassa. I’ve been getting into his gear a lot lately. Guitars amps and pedals. So much to discuss and his tone is insane. Thanks bro keep it up.
As much as I'm excited for the release of the Epi DG 335, I am more anxious on whether the guitar will be available for left-handed players. I saw the Emily Wolfe Epiphones and was so upset to see they weren't made left-handed. Those are really nice and the closest to an available DG/Trini type guitar right now, so my disappointment was down the drain.

I really don't think we're getting a frusciante signature personally. I'm a huge chili peppers fan and a sig strat would be amazing but frusciante doesn't really seem like the kinda guy to want a signature to me, mainly because he's left the band twice because he didn't enjoy the fame and being a rock star. I assume the replica is so he can go a little easier on his 62' but who knows 🤷♂️
If I know Gibson and Epiphone then if they are planning a Gibson re-run (hopefully white too!) then they’ll release those first and Epiphone second. I hope to god they do gold it’s my favourite! But tbh all the colours Dave plays are cool 😆
I might pick up a Dave Grohl Epiphone. I’m not particularly a fan, but I like the Trini Lopez Gibsons that those are based on. I remember that it was often hard to find high E strings long enough to fit the ‘60s Trinis, which came with trapeze tailpieces, so I’d like having one with a stop tailpiece. Vintage ones are priced way out of my range, so are Custom Shop ones, and I wouldn’t want to mod one of those anyway. With it being an Epiphone, they should be more affordable. I don’t care if it’s called a Dave Grohl or a Trini Lopez-it’s pretty cool!

I really hope for a JF sig strat but not a MIM but rather a USA version... however I just don't think JF is wanting to release a sign strat as for him even a pick with his name on it is too much "rock star" thing which he doesn't like... so if there will be a JF sig model that will actually surprise me...
Probably the most anticipated guitar of 2024 is the Tom Delonge Starcaster.
“Special” John frusciante pickups wouldn’t be any more special than the rest of the guitar…. It’s really just the relic pattern you are paying for.
Mayer talked with Cory Wong on his Wong Notes pod about how he thinks that every guitarist that releases a sig should have their own "one-off" version of the guitar, something that no one else can get/have. Since every other color of the SS has been released, even his Dead Spec version, I actually think the matte charcoal SS may be his new "number 1" axe, akin to the BLK1 or SRV's #1 strat. Clearly, the BLK1 has been through so much that it clearly can't be a regular touring guitar anymore, so I think the matte charcoal SS is probably the newer version of that, maybe even with unique pups in it.
I would absolutely grab a white Gibson DG-335. If they release the Epiphone with a laurel fretboard however, that’s a dope guitar just gone to waste. Would much rather pay $200 more for a real rosewood fretboard

You think so? I hated on the Silver Sky first, but I couldn’t deny he sounded great! I loved fenders but I can’t say his sound his crap, that’s hyperbole.
@@AntonioLopez-bc6qg when you listen to the earlier stuff , played live now , it's not as good . His tone has suffered . I don't hate the Silver Sky as such , I just don't think it sounds as good as the real thing .
