I'm finally back and I hope you all enjoy this new style tips video. Sorry there haven't been no new videos the last few weeks, I've been recovering from Covid which took longer than I would have liked but i'm back and feeling much now. Thank you everyone for your amazing support as always, love you all ❤️
These were such good tips that I'd never even considered. It's always nice learning something new. Just looking around your cities and stuff you can really see the crazy details and it makes everything stand out. It looks really nice. Definitely looking forward to that custom tree video also cause I've always wanted to do some but I've never known where to start with that
One of my favorite unique floorings is dried kelp block. It give a really cozy and rustic vibe. I use it in small amounts like in a small kitchen or around a bed
Loved this video - especially the use of the azalea bushes as hedges. I often use saplings as an alternative to fence posts to make my 'little' trees. The saplings won't grow with the leaves on top (unless you make the mistake of matching the sapling to the leaves!) I've grown full trees and then knocked out the bottom trunks and replaced them with fence posts too! Another thing I did in the latest scenarios was to put the flowering azalea into a pot instead of using cactus or dead bush for a stem and then put a block of flowering azalea leaves on top instead. It makes a bush about 2 blocks high with excellent movement and flowers all the way through. Azalea bushes are my newest fave! PS: Glad you are feeling better, and thank you so much for all of the inspiration that you provide that pushes me to really look at what I'm building!
This guy gets straight to the point and straight to the building. Every time I watch any other tutorials the UA-camrs talk for 30 minutes straight before every few blocks they place when they could have summarized everything they said into 2 minutes
Great overview on the small things that really matter in any build and showing us how to get that to work. Love the string one as I was one of those people that threw that stuff away and now I keep it forever along with feathers. Hope you are really feeling better and fantastic to see your videos again. Can not wait for the next.😄☕
Gets minecraft yesterday, insane love of legos overflows as I boot up. Overwhelmed with ideas, dont know where to start, look up yt vids, 100+ about making a house in survival. About to give up. Finds kitchen hacks. 4hours later and now I have found my love of legos again. Tysm! This game is so amazing!
Welcome back Blue, I hope you’re feeling better. I’ve been loving your tips and tricks, I can’t wait for your custom tree video. Your skills are amazing!
MIND-------------------------------------BLOWN!!!!!!!!!!! These are such beautiful designs! MY GOOOOOOODDDDDNNNNNNNNEEEESSSSSS! LOVE IT! Keep up the good work!
In addition to using corals as lily pads and rugs, you can use them to make chicken nests! Or nests in general, but needing the water logged slab, chicken and other ground-bird nests are the best. It's the same process, but you can add an item frame and an egg before you add the coral on top. They're really cute! I do the same method with lily pads, only with a gold block / golden nugget. You can move the item around in the frame too for more variation. Looking forward to the custom tree video, I've been wanting to experiment more with custom trees, but am not sure how the best way to go about it is.
Great tips as always. Some reminded me of things I've done before, but for some reason, I haven't done recently. I need to add some of these ideas to my builds!
If you're in creative mode, structure void blocks can be used in replacement of string. You can go through them, but blocks and liquids can't. The best part is that there is no outline when you hover your cursor over it.
On the topic of the direction you place blocks, you can do so many different patterns with a single block. Basalt is an excellent example, my online skyblock has foundation built to limit from x to y, that leaves a lot of room to play with patterns.
Thank you Gracemarie, sorry for the lack of videos I caught Covid over the Christmas and it's taken me a while to recover, but i'm feeling better now and back to making videos so loads more on the way =)
Thank you Winters, I can't believe how close we are getting, being this close to 500k is insane, never did I expect the channel to come this far. Thanks for the support buddy =)
I'm sure someone else probably mentioned this, but as of 1.18 you can now use shears to stop plants from growing - just right-click on the tile at the perfect height of the vine or cane that you want, all the pieces above (or below) will fall off like normal but the plant will now never grow again. String is still useful to block snowfall on certain tiles you want free of snow, but for plants you can now manually set them to whatever height you want.
In recent 1.19 updates, you can prevent crop growth simply by clicking the top of the plant with shears, setting its age to a max of 25 preventing further growth!!!
The tips re: wood block flooring patterns are so simple and yet I never considered using them in such a way. You can make what is essentially a parquet floor! Very inspiring, thank you!
Such great tips! Downside, I find, with the awesome looking trapdoors as balcony and stair rails are my Villagers who go bailing off the side of my balconies...I constantly hear that squeaky "ooof" every morning...LOL
I like to use a checkerboard spruce plank and upside-down barrel pattern as a floor texture. It is just interesting enough to look nice, but without distracting too much.
Hi my friend!! Im happy that you're fine now. Is good to see you again. Take care buddy, and take your time. We always be here waiting for your next video 😉
One of my personal favorite floors when making a cozy hallway would have to be a checker pattern of spruce and oak especially having the pressure plates with the doors.
I have only just come back to Minecraft after a very long time away from it. Kinda in awe of all the changes let alone of all the things you can do. Thanks for this video, It's going to be very helpful.
I really liked the design and patterns of the floor, it’s the first time I’ve seen something like this on UA-cam, it looks stylish. I’ll definitely use this in my modern home, but with other blocks, the main idea here.
I normally mine a lot and don’t worry about building but I’ve been trying to get into making my builds look nice this video definitely helped, thanks a ton
I saw your Instagram hasn’t been updated in a year, and I think that’d be a great place to showcase these individual techniques, especially the shrubbery ones at the end, instead of having to scrub through a UA-cam video. I love your designs, and I have an Instagram folder full of building techniques that I would love to have your builds in!
Nice vid. I'd be interested in seeing cards on screen to hop over to the other videos of yours that showcase the builds in more detail when you show them off in the future - e.g. if you show a detail from the docks, a card will pop out with a link to that tutorial for anyone interested in checking it out.
Thanks Dylan, I should be getting back into regular videos again in the next week or so, i've been working on some large builds for the tutorial series and have only recently recovered from having covid as well which made it hard to record. But I'm feeling better now so things will be getting back to a better recording schedule =)
I love building with u. Ur ideas and designs are absolutely spectacular!!! We are lucky to have u and I appreciate all u bring to ur fans. Thk u Blue. Thk u so very much. Many blessings to u.
Trapdoors tip: Spruce doors and spruce trapdoors look almost the same right? If you wanted to make a destroyed or an abandon home or shop just place one door in a wall and two trapdoors placed in the ground. This can make a huge difference in your world.
this is a must watch for every beginner. I personally already knew everything, because i've been pkaying since a few years, but I still enjoied this video!
BlueNerd I subscribed you for a long time and see your building hacks before but now you really improved!!!your skills to design to be turned stunning is great keep it up!
Absolutely brilliant. I’m very boring when it comes to builds, I hadn’t even considered over 95% of these ideas!!!! So simple but so effective. Thanks 👌.
Thank you for posting all the videos! I always dissmised minecraft as a boring game, however once someone suggested to me to try to build creations other post on youtube in clicked with me. My GF jokes that it is curing my lego addiction, it is also hella cheaper XD
The things that suck *in some ways* about trapdoors is the fact that villagers don't process them as physical objects. I build my villages in a way where they aren't in sweatshop like conditions, and they always end up dead via stuck to the aesthetically pleasing trapdoor on a stair railing, fence, or balcony.
,we can also place saplings on moss blocks to keep them from growing, but that only works in the plains biome, because the moss blocks don't change color with the biome, but at least they can be used for making a desert oasis.
These are such great tips!! I'm going to be making a modern mansion, Could you maybe make a new one thats modern? I mean if you haven't made one, please do! 😁

I’ve played Minecraft since bamboo wasn’t even a thing and I still make buildings that are crimes against humanity
This man is one of the only youtubers that actually responds to his fans. He deserves to have atleast 1 Milligan subs.
Thanks buddy =)
There are lots of people who read and respond to their comments
Milligan
I now realise I said millgun not Million
milligan should be the name of the million subscriber achievement

Number 32, HAVE SHADERS

Real.

It amazes me how there are so many opportunities with Minecraft and it's creativity!
Feels good knowing that I picked most of these tips up just by watching you and other builders, but this is a great video for beginner builders.
welcome back!! glad you're getting better
Trap doors are just the best honestly. Everything I make always has like 300 or more trapdoors. They are just SO useful!!!
Glad you're feeling better 💙
Great tips as always. Some reminded me of things I've done before, but for some reason, I haven't done recently. I need to add some of these ideas to my builds!

@@BlueNerdMC Ugh man, that must've sucked. Getting sick during Christmas is probably the worst feeling ever.
@@BlueNerdMC yo me too
@@BlueNerdMC i hope ur alright
@@GracemarieJohnson2763 Yeah it's the worst time to get sick, but i'm doing good now so I can finally get back to making videos again =)
Man the 500k is getting close it’s crazy all the way from the bottom now we are here waiting
Thank you Winters, I can't believe how close we are getting, being this close to 500k is insane, never did I expect the channel to come this far. Thanks for the support buddy =)
@@BlueNerdMC You made it possible we just love the content keep it up man

Works on all vines, sugar cane, and bamboo. Not sure if it works on saplings, though.
Never new this, thanks so much!
Great catalogue of all those little details that bring a build to life. Nice one Blue!
Yay! More building tips!!!
In recent 1.19 updates, you can prevent crop growth simply by clicking the top of the plant with shears, setting its age to a max of 25 preventing further growth!!!
Yes with 1.19 you can do that with some things but it don't work on all crops, it only works for kelp, glow berries, twisting vines and weeping vines.
@@BlueNerdMC I mean yea, anything that uses "age" but still. Who knows, they might make most if not all plants preventable.
Looks like Grian has some competition!
The tips re: wood block flooring patterns are so simple and yet I never considered using them in such a way. You can make what is essentially a parquet floor! Very inspiring, thank you!
I am SO EXCITED for the custom tree video. I suck and would love to learn how to do them.
Trapdoors are also useful in support structures to give a level of depth and make it look solid
Such great tips! Downside, I find, with the awesome looking trapdoors as balcony and stair rails are my Villagers who go bailing off the side of my balconies...I constantly hear that squeaky "ooof" every morning...LOL
Comes exactly at the right time :] I started a hardcoreworld just yesterday do it will help a lot :D
What is the flooring at 3:56 that looks like stripped dark oak/spruce but isn’t?
It's stripped dark oak wood laid in alternating directions =)
I like to use a checkerboard spruce plank and upside-down barrel pattern as a floor texture. It is just interesting enough to look nice, but without distracting too much.
Welcome back BlueNerd! Glad to see you back ! And another well done video 💜
Hi my friend!! Im happy that you're fine now. Is good to see you again. Take care buddy, and take your time. We always be here waiting for your next video 😉
Came here to get some ideas on how to make my builds less plain. Had no idea how plain my builds actually were 🤯 These look incredible!
You are so inspirational bro. Thanks for being part of UA-cam, you're so underrated. I hope you have a great day.

I really liked the design and patterns of the floor, it’s the first time I’ve seen something like this on UA-cam, it looks stylish. I’ll definitely use this in my modern home, but with other blocks, the main idea here.
Lets appreciate this guy recording and building and downloading maps and building blocks pattern asset himself
Wow! Beautiful builds, great information. Thank you so much!🙂
Thanks Blue...always soooooo POSITIVE! Love your ideas and tips and your message. Can't wait to catch you in the next one!
Welcome Back Blue! Glad you are feeling better cant wait to see your creativity!💙
The lecterns as railings thing is a revelation. And here I've been giving them to villagers like a fool
You can also use structure voids instead of barrier blocks. The plants underneath won’t grow, but you’ll still be able to walk trough the block.
I normally mine a lot and don’t worry about building but I’ve been trying to get into making my builds look nice this video definitely helped, thanks a ton
Bro this is insane his cities are so complex with so much going on but look so natural extremely talented
3:12 Bed, 5:48 Steps, 9:56 Roof, 10:07 Window, 12:00 Plants.
I really appreciate the idea of doing small details to have a big impact. That's definitely something I need to work on.
You're awesome Blue. Don't ever stop
Oh my god what a legend make more of these please youre a genius
Definitely one of my favorite Minecraft UA-camrs alongside Itsmarloe 😊
Glad you're back! Great refreshing video.
Legit some of the BEST building tips Ive seen for Minecraft.
This was great! You are such a nice youtuber.
Best channel for building in Minecraft
Can't wait for that custom tree episode, this is something I struggle with.

Hey blue can you do a video on desert related builds?great content.
fun tip! you can place upside-down stairs for the ceiling, creating wooden beams, its super effective and gives a very rustic feeling to your build!

The beehive block is a good block to use for a floor
It gives a cute effect if your making a cottagecore-esk build
