As a former sailor I can say the hardest part of navy boot was folding my clothes & making my bed lol

Battestations had me so freaked out before hand lol
Never once did this happen to me in Navy boot.

@@tr9165 .....The video. They've changed the training. I went to military school in high school. So Navy BC was a joke including folding my clothes and making my bed.
Hell, the RDC's look more scared than the recruits 😂.
Ok you beat me to it.
I was thinking the same thing
Yeah I wish I had these guys as my RDCs 😂 I know Navy basic doesn’t compare to the marines or army but my shit first night was way worse than these
They are scared because they know these recruits are going to get them sick for the millionth time
I know it eh lmfao sit wet behind the ears as well
Being a marine, as soon as this sailor opened his mouth I laughed he’s talking so sweet to them 😂
Cause the marines will recruit anything with a pulse then have to make up for that it in bootcamp by yelling at everyone. Notice how the branches with harder standards yell less and the branches that often take anyone are more ridiculous.
@@OkItsJustSean you couldn’t be more wrong, they train differently because they have different missions and it’s all based on an asvab scores which determine if you’ll even be let in to any branch you don’t need a muscular 7 feet dude in the Air Force to just have him sit behind a computer. If you’re talking about anything that has a pulse you’re speaking about the army they’re literally the largest branch because they recruit anything and anyone even go recruiting homeless people. Ask anyone around why the marines are the world finest fighting force. Why the marines are top notch. Would you rather a an airman, seaman, soldier or marine and anyone with any dignity would say Marine they’re just IT buddy 😂😂
@@OkItsJustSean you’re explanation just sounds plain ignorant “we recruit anyone so we’re gonna be loud” which branch were you in? I’ll wait for you to say “I didn’t have to be in a branch to know” you give off “I was gonna join but” vibes, weirdo
@@OkItsJustSeanare you really trying to tell us the other branches have higher standards than the Marines? 😂

Yes. Everyone knows.
At least respect their choice to serve at all. Today's kids aren't yesterday's kids.
“Sit up straight!”
*everyone proceeds to stay slouched over*
I remember being in their shoes too haha. Recruits are awake for up to 48 hours before they meet their RDCs and most just want nothing more than to sleep. Hence, the slouching.
Is it still unprofessional? Absolutely. Do the recruits care at this point? No, but they’ll learn.

I’ve seen marine DIs. These navy RDCs don’t scare. A marine DI is absolutely terrifying.
Bro, one of my DIs was beyond bonkers. I nearly had a panic attack when I met him again 3+ years later.
It's like there reading a bedtime story to them.
When on worm island, my barracks was back against the fence to the marine pt course we would watch recruits run by with ti’s and di’s barking at them with an ambulance following. Once in awhile a boot would drop out and the ambulance would pull up and 2 BIG ti’s would jump out and throw the recruit in back. Slow roll , lots of yelling and screaming and suddenly the doors open and HAL A OO RA that dude could RUN!🤣😂

Uhh I never met a Marine DI, but I will tell you my Army Drill Sergeants were nothing to fck with.

It’s true. This is embarrassing.
I was in the military. This is real life, this is how people in the military really look like, they’re just regular people, they aren’t all tall, buff, and handsome or beautiful, and extremely well-spoken like they are in the movies. It’s just regular people like any other industry in human society, except the only difference is they’re required to do physical training and weapons training and qualify with their weapons.
@13ghosts18 I served too, USMC infantry. Our Drill Instructors ARE the people you say only exist in movies. And ny no means is the weapons training in the military (speaking of marksmanship outside of snipers) even adequate. Most Army and Marines get taught barely enough to survive combat, and you'd be hard pressed to find any that could make it out of a gunfight situation without a platoon backing them and a full compliment of supporting arms at their disposal.
😮😅😂
I'm a Navy veteran. Honestly they have made the boot camp very easy. If you just do the thing they asked it is quite simple. The hardest part was standing still for 2 hours during graduation.

Absolute crap
@@chrisbelsito4231Former Navy E-6 (2013 - 2021) here, tell him good luck. The Nuclear course is one of the toughest mentally. A lot of people drop out. Tell him that he needs to pass, because his life will not be so great if he fails. Failures get sent to random jobs in the Navy, usually not the good ones, and most certainly not the ones that build skills for the civilian side.
Also, no real way to sugar coat this, but being a nuclear tech in the Navy is already a tough job. It's probably one of the worst, because of how overworked they are. So tell him that he needs to be thinking about his future, and that he should think about what that may look like outside the Navy, because it could be quite possible that he will not want to serve any more time past his initial contract. Especially knowing that enlisted nuclear techs get enough schooling to be only a few credits away from an actual bachelor's of science in nuclear engineering, there's almost no incentive for a Naval nuclear technician to remain enlisted past their initial 6 year contract.
His initial goal is to make it past boot camp. Do everything they tell him, keep his head down, keep quiet and indulge everything. Then, his following goal is to pass his nuclear schooling, which will take about two years and will be incredibly tough mentally. After that, his goal will be to survive, and figure out what he wants to do next, whether that be staying in the Navy or leaving. No shame in leaving, especially as a nuclear tech. If he decides to stay, his two main goals should be to effectively use BAH to buy income properties (apartments or homes to rent) and to become an officer and retire with a big pension.
Nah, two of my cousins joined the navy and it was rubbish. One of them came home half deaf. Plus nothing they learned came in useful in civilian life. Waste of time.

@nancy.dave.williams that's my point. Now the navy is more concerned with pronouns and gender reassignment than winning wars. Also, I'm a retired Marine and obligated to give the navy crap, but it's kind of on a serious note this time. It's the whole military, not just the Navy.

I come from a long line of Marines! They are much better people after Marine Corp boot camp. Being raised by a Marine my children were brought up the way i was (my hubby was a police officer retired now) after 3 boot camp graduations all their drill instructors to a man came up and told me each of my sons were very well raised and they were proud to have them in their units. I just wish my daddy had lived long enough to hear this. He would have been so proud. The boys are awesome adults, and my eldest sons son announced about the same age his daddy did- age 4- that he was going to be a Marine like his daddy, Papaw, uncles and great uncle. He will too.
At least these kids are serving. Many can't get off Mama's teets.

Not in January. You could hardly walk anywhere.

I actually have a cousin that flunked it in 89.
Embarassing.
My Grandfather was a retired CPO. He told me everything I needed to know about boot camp . The single most important thing that he said was eyes and ears open and mouth shut. Because of him boot camp was a cakewalk for me . I graduated from boot camp as E3 because I went submarine training .
Dude i wish army basic was this chill
What do you think the army does? Not to be that guy but if you wanna join the Army then expect it to be tough
Navy should be tough too
If ever a conventional war breaks out and naval warfare becomes relevant again, these kids need discipline and suffering so they can handle the storms to come. Less than 100 years ago ships were fighting fires and planes and other ships at the same time.
Went to navy boot camp in 1963. What they did to us back then is not permissible today. We came out hard-assed, because we weren't babied. Made a man out of many a teenager. Would do it again....we were disrespected, kicked, slapped, hit, we bled and we laughed and cried...but we had no drop-outs..
At Great Lakes in 1966. Been there, done that!
@edwinschwartz2472 my grandfather "pushed boots" as he'd say in the great lakes area around '57 or so. He joined the navy during ww2 and saw action in the pacific theater.

@@chriss2452 No. There are no spelling lessons in Marine boot camp
@@alanw2687
Ok. Curious question: when someone calls themself a Marine, does that mean that they went through boot camp or does it mean that they are actually combat fighters? Like, if someone tells me that they are a Marine, is it possible that he or she "simply" is a chef or a driver in the MC or is every Marine a badass combat soldier?
@chriss2452 It means they went through boot camp and graduated. That's the only thing that matters, nothing else with maybe one exception - that being dishonerable discharge after completing boot camp. They can go on to enlist as infantry, work for homeland security, be stationed abroad, have an MO even as low hazard as a court clerk or whatever, but it's possible that a dishonorable discharge in any case would disqualify their marine status. But to be clear, if someone receives an honorable discharge before completing boot camp, they are not a marine.
Sit down eyes straight 😂 that was all I needed to see. Lmao

So i have like 5 Marines in my immediate family so i know how hard the boot camp is.
My friend was all over facebook recently bragging cause her 18 year old son enlisted and was going to Paris Island to be a Marine.
I looked at him and thought “oh boy”
A month or 2 so goes by with no updates, then she posts a picture of her son in a Sailors uniform saying he’s graduated from Navy bootcamp or whatever.
I felt so bad but couldn’t help but chuckle. Poor kid must have dropped out like his second day based on the timeline of when he left for Paris Island and then graduated Navy Bootcamp.
I blame the Marine Recruiter, theres no way he realistically thought this kid could do it. I’ve seen all kinds of people I grew up with that went to boot camp and became Marines that you never thought would make it, but this kid was the only one ive ever seen quit.
I am as well. First half of the 13 wks, I honestly thought I wasn't gonna hack it. Went in over 340lbs. Red stripes above n below like the fat body squad. I remember distinctly what one of my DI's said. Ironically, he was visiting the recruiting office n pushed for his cycle. "Rodgers, you came from a strong family foundation and see great things for you! Why throw it all away? You're HALFWAY through and have impressed me by far above everyone else!!! What is your next move???" Something fucking clicked!! "I WANNA BE A MARINE, SSGT!!!!!" Good, now pick your ass up and show me you want it!"
