Picking up platinum datograph next month, so a very timely and enjoyably video. Also Mr Schmidt showing just how a truly professional watch CEO should behave.
When Philip Dufour was asked what he thought is the best serially produced wristwatch available, he said "I'll show you" and went to his safe and pulled out a Datograph.
I own two Omegas, but A. Lange & Söhne, is probably my unicorn of wristwatches. And one that I’ll likely never be able to afford to buy. Absolutely beautiful pieces of engineering and art.
Danke für das nette Feedback! Wilhelm hat im Unterschied zu einigen anderen die Bodenhaftung nicht verloren… das und vieles mehr machen ihn sehr sympathisch…..
Welcome back! Love these talks with executives, especially with these understated brands. Too bad A. Lange & Sohne is way beyond affordable. For now, grinding towards my first Frederique Constant; will get there!
Absolutely outstanding video and watch. ALS completely changed the high horology game with this watch. It made the Swiss wake up. One of the best if not THE best watch movements, although i do prefer the 1815 up down
Happy Birthday to A. Lange & Söhne. They make very nice watches and I like and appriciate the brand. Next time ask him what the company do to attarct new customers especially young generation that move to digital. I would appreciate to hear his opinion.
*Its good to see you again Mr. Linz; I hope your birthday has been a good one for you; I have missed you and your shows!* *Another good show to your credit; and to your well spoken guest, Mr. Schmid.* *Smiles*
The Datograph is a true icon, maybe "the" chronograph, I am swiss but I have to admit among our greatest chronograph we don't have one with that much charisma
Forget all others....unfortunately I 😢 can t afford but this watches arw simply said: magic and incredible piece of art. It doesn t mather if german or swiss or another nation: every manuacturer can be proud to acieve this miracles simply said....mouth open no words congratulations
Loved that watchman English,he lived in England, wonder what he was doing whilst in England ?watches? .I've not seen this channel with Alexander in a good while ? .
@@marlonverano5496 I know one thing readily available in the Philippines, hungry children. They always know what time it is, time they were no longer worried about when they something to eat, come down from your ivory tower once in a while and take a look around. Anyone that can afford these watches should have to pay double the cost and the other half of the money they've spent should go to to a worthwhile charity. Yes they are beautiful and I'm not saying that nobody should have one, but let's face it, you didn't earn the money to buy it with hard work, no like all wealthy people your money most likely came from the hard work of an underpaid workforce. Most people could work 12 hours a day, seven days a week for their whole life and after 65 years still couldn't afford anything like this. The Philippines is a very religious country, remember, more chance a camel pass through the eye of a needle than a wealthy man enter the kingdom of God.
A very beautiful watch barand indeed, but far far from being the most beautiful chronohraph. It is probably in the top 25. I speak as a collector of 1200+ watches including hundreds of top Swiss chronos.
The Minerva 16.29 is certainly superior to the L951.1 on a finishing level. Design language is subjective so I won’t speak on that but Minerva is on a different level with finishing
@@Doggo-frencton All good old Minerva calibers are beauties and technical marvels... I agree! Nevertheless, I think that the A. Lange & Söhne calibers are superior to those from Minerva...
Looking forward reading your comments....
Lange is missing hype from rappers, NBA star players and perhaps Mr. Wonderful Kevin O Leary.
@ I assume the internal ALS answer is: we couldn’t care less… 😜🤣🤣🤣
@@WatchAdvisor AP, Patek, RM, Rolex sell over retail because of the fake scarcity and lots and lots of hype.
@@WatchAdvisor Astonishing watch however I would like to see Lange make their watches thinner
Few weeks ago I got me second Lange
Odysseus stainless steel ❤

Fantastisches Video, sehr sympathisch, der gute Herr Schmid. Gratulieren kann man tatsächlich jedem Einzelnen, der so eine Uhr sein Eigen nennen darf.

The Datograph will be noted in history as one of the Greatest timepieces ever made. It is truly a masterpiece.
If done correctly and not only limited to Swiss made watches… this is how it should be …
utterly stunning pieces from Lange, a Datograph grey dial is the grail
Love your passion! Thanks for sharing!
Many beauties here.
Which one is your favorite?

Thanks for your kind words and input! I will keep your question in mind and ask next time…
A. Lange & Söhne make a digital watch already. Granted it may be priced beyond the younger generation’s means
Very nice and informative about the direction of this company

Amazing skills
And true luxury considering the fact that ALS manufacturers only 5000 watches per year… Patek Philippe does 70.000 ++

Wilhelm is German… he was a top executive for BMW in South Africa before joining ALS…
Where can we purchase said datograph? Im from Asia by the way, thank you
Contact the closest A. Lange & Söhne boutique…
@ thanks, hope it’s available here in the Philippines

What wonderful words!
Thank you very much
My favourite brand. The only thing I don’t like with this model is the chrome looking bezel is too wide. Other than that just beautiful.
A little detail… tastes are different…
my saxonia moonphase had water damage - repair was 11500€.
What did you do with it?
@WatchAdvisor left it in the washing machine🤣 my fault ofc
