This was one of the most interesting & enjoyable interviews I’ve seen from a watch brand CEO. He came across very well, the honesty is good to see . Well done , keep up the good work .
I love Mr. Schmid’s take on the state of economy and ways of running the company: staying true to who you are as a company and keeping people that’ve built and run it. It’s challenging, but it’s not boring for sure.
I genuinely believe that the interviewing skills that Justin has are beyond professional. I kept a close eye on he manages the discussion and boy did he ace every time he took over. Best, Manaf
while I absolutely loved this video and the CEO appears to be an absolute gentleman, I find the brand to be a bit stuffy based off my experience at the Flagship store on Madison ave. The staff was standoffish and did not inquire on what I was looking for. When I asked about 2 models they stated "they were for their VIP clients." They had them in the show case and didnt offer to let me try them on. I was a serious buyer with serious intentions but the interaction totally turned me off. FPJ has a legitimate wait list and the folks there will let you try on anything your heart desires. I was very disappointed. Thats my rant, also Justin your videos are 10/10.
I think it depends on the Lange boutique, location and the SA or consultant whatever they call. On the contrary, my experience was A1 in a HK boutique and ended up buying a piece with another one being in the list in the Manufacture.
It is very unfortunate when mere employees put their own egos before the brand they work for. I own two Lange watches and even though not wearing one at the time I experienced the most friendly service and attention from the manager of the A Lange & Sohne boutique in Munich back in May and the staff of their store in Harrods two weeks ago. Both times I was wearing jeans.
Would you ask Wilhelm at some point if a purchase of a Lange from a previous AD is taken into account when travelling to a Boutique to make a new relationship?
Alright, but could have been half the time if Mr. Hast did not ask about future models over and over, which Mr. Schimid clearly cannot unveil. Really seems amatuer of the interviewer to circulate the same question again and again, even though it ends with a dead end.
re service - i am sorry, but my experience with patek with a broken 5004 was just a standard service cost. I truly don't dare buy another lange basis the stories I have heard.
Always great to get Wilhelm’s take on things. 👍
Haha I see your name here and shout it’s from Mosso almost every week. And of course the crown forums 😂

Very nice interview and great to hear there are some exciting thing in store this fall from ALS.
Great content Justin. Thank you mate 🥃
Can I just say how happy I am to hear how much Mr. Schmid values his employees.
I love that you cover so much Lange!
Just love A.LANGE & Sohne , the finest watch brand in the world by a mile. No other brand gives me the feeling A LANGE do ❤

Important lesson from this video: service your watch before there is a problem. I learned something, so thanks!
I’ve watched this 3 times and have picked up new details each time. As always, thanks for everything.
this is the only time I've heard a watch CEO talk about polishing watches and how they weld, not just polish.
Wonderful interview with an incisive interviewer and charming interviewee! (The interviewer is charming as well.)
Really enjoyed this!
Easy to see why he’s the boss 👏
One of the watches that hasn’t changed in nearly 30 years, aside from the movement, is the IWC Portuguieser Chronograph.

How were you dressed? They are very expensive watches, and chances are they didn't think you had the capacity to pay.
@@lamentate07 I was naked.

I think this question was posed to him in a Hodinkee interview some 2 years back and the answer he gave was no.
