In this video I cover the 4 security features of the Silver Britannia that any person can visually check to confirm whether their 2022 Silver Britannia is real (authentic) or fake.
Be sure to watch to the very end because I also add a couple more bits of information regarding the coin including something to check to make sure nobody shaved silver off of your coin!

Great video. Very informative. The new Britannia's are pretty hard to fake with all the security features. Theirs so many coins out there that are faked, I picked up a sigma machine. Theirs all sorts of things like the pocket ping or other tests you can use for other coins. They pay for themselves eventually.

30 years ago I read a money magazine article that said with the population growth slowing that by the year 2020 you would be able to work any job you wanted there would be so many openings thinking back I wonder if that is playing in to what is happening. I also think a lot of mothers decided to stay home after the virus. But I truly don’t know anyone who stays at home and his love enough stimulus I do know the extended unemployment benefits don’t help. Anyways you’re one of the smartest guys I’ve ever seen with the numbers in the charts and the clarity if you ever figure it out I’d love to see some charts on it. Stay safe ball guy we need you, and if you ever decide to do a live video that sounds like a lot of fun

I believe the silver used in ancient times was not pure silver, it was mixed in with other metals. Some manufacturers do this with gold even today to make it extremely durable in comparison to its pure form.
Even the silver in American quarters wasn’t pure - that said, some ancient coins had a lot of silver in them. Silver is hard compared to gold.
Great explanation on the royal Britannia coin. It is my favorite. So much more detail put into this coin. US mint needs to step it up.

Very interesting and yes I started stacking britannias in 2021 just because of the new security features absolutely love it! As a side note Sunshine mint as far as rounds go are also a pretty awesome one with their holographic security feature I would imagine that should be fairly hard to replicate as well. It would also definitely be interesting to see where you buy in Dubai and maybe also how buying bullion from other countries work and operate or if we're allowed to buy bullion from other countries directly? Something I've never tried but would be interesting!

Great video! Thank you Bald Guy! It was interesting and unusual when you talked about the Caracalla denarius. For the Britannias, aren't you worried about milk spots? How easy is it to buy and sell silver in the UAE? Is it exempt from the tax? Thank you!
Hi Petr - I will start by saying that I am not worried about milk spots. These coins do not have any numismatic value - their value is derived from the silver that is used to make them. I am not afraid of touching my silver. On the topic of the UAE - it is easy to buy and sell silver and gold. There is a large market. It is exempt from taxation. The only tax in the UAE is 5% VAT.
Hence the phrase of disdain:
"What a clip joint!"

I just subscribed to your channel. You seem knowledgeable. He where is a hypothetical chart about when you might expect to break even after paying such high premiums. When you sell and or maybe profit some ? Hard to understand because Inflation at the time of buying and selling. How does this work ? Spot price plus premium. Value of dollar when selling in relation to when bought? Please and thank you.

Hi - I'm new to your channel and like the few vid's of yours that I've seen - good job!
A follow up video to this one in which you outline ways to spot fake coins that don't have Brtannia's cool security features would be helpful. Simple observations and tests that don't require a Sigma machine (or similar) to verify silver electronically - as most of your subscribers can't afford fancy kit like that! Perhaps use the Austr(al)ian Philharmonic as an example!? ;-) If you can get hold of a fake one so you can show viewers how it differs to the real thing - that would be the icing on the cake.
Regarding your local dealer / coin shop - that could be interesting. Doubtless you're familiar with the cannel called 'Yankee Stacking' where his local coin shop dealer (called Tim) features in many of his videos. That works because Tim is very knowledgable, well informed and makes a lot of interesting comments.

Learning about the validity of coins always has an obverse and a reverse. Great to know how to spot fakes and protect yourself, but it's sad to know people want to bring harm to you for their gain.
I am interested in buying gold and silver, coins and bars. You might talk about what gear I can buy to weigh what I buy and test for the metal in it.

Why is the "ping" on these coins so dull and inferior? I noticed when I ping it, it does not ring out very well. In fact, I have 2 out of my whole collection that have a very dull ping. The weight is right, the safety features are all there, but the ping and the magnet test seem a bit off.
I've never noticed that personally. Might be a good topic for a future video. Could you explain please how it fails your magnet test?
@@baldguymoney5568 I have a magnet coin test slide and when I slide down the 2 coins that have the dullest ping, they move down slower than the others and they move to the rim halfway down and hug the side... it's odd. The others just slide pretty much down the middle. But all the "pings" on this coin just don't sound like Silver to me. Can you do a ping test video with these coins?
I love your videos. I'm so new to this. I'm in the UK. and using buillion by post who seem to be very credible. I think we are in for a tough time in the coming years so I'm doing all I can. Would you recommend bars as well as coins? I like coins as they are legal tender. Having said that bars are better for investment are they not?
Coins are the easiest to liquidate and turn back into cash - that is a general rule of thumb. That said, bars have way lower premiums right now, and as long as they are not too big (ie. more than 1kg) they shouldn't be too hard to sell in the future. That's based on my experience.
@@baldguymoney5568 thanks for your reply. I agree and my initial idea is to buy a little of both and a small 500g bar is around £418 currently so shouldn't be too hard if needed to trade.
Great video. I'm biased as a Brit as Britannia coins are Capital Gains Tax free here. But even if that wasn't true I would still buy Britannias over any coin right now. The design, security features and costs are all world beating.
I believe the Royal Mint sales are up 95% in the States right now. I'm not surprised. I buy in the US too and in the States I was picking them up at the exact same price as generic Buffalos.
Decus et tutamen was stamped on the old Crown coins. I love the fact the Royal Mint put that coin history in their latest products.
Now they just need to do a deal with the RCM and get mintshield to solve the milk spotting.
Britannias are easily the best deal in silver bullion right now - and I have been stacking bars and Britannias exclusively for a while now.
Americans can buy brittanias cheaper than in the uk due to vat and premiums coin for 1oz costs over £30 in the uk after vat and costs where as in the us they’re £18a £18

You should be wearing cotton coin gloves when handling silver. The oils on your hands will over time corrode the silver causing tarnishing and toning which will devalue the worth of the coin. You will always get a higher selling premium selling a silver coin that is not tarnished and toned.

It would be cool to have a few fakes and compare them to real ones I got a fake on eBay kinda on purpose but I could tell when I got it it was 100 percent fake and got my money back and got to keep it I use it for srach tickets but the weight was dead on but the date was off and I filed the end and showed copper as it was cladded and other details that a new buyer would be fooled
