Wow, thank you for the very very kind words! Wishing you a great season! RK p.s. funny cuz growing up and watching virtually all the new snowboard films... it was always the lil flatland butter trick that made me rewind it and wonder how they did that on a regular part of the hill. :)
It's funny you say "growing up and watching virtually all the new snowboard films... " I am only 44... and I am try not to grow up!!! I just started snowboarding in 2011. My goal for this season is to learn to butter it up a bit! I have watched your tutorials on buttering several times and I will be taking them to the hill with me so I can step by step them! Thanks again... from a young-hearted old fart!
I have to say... I know there are some awesome snowboarders out there, but your my favorite! This needs to be the way a "slope style" contest is ridden! We need a Park-Style and a Slope Style! Slope should be anything that you can do on a normal "SLOPE" and Park-Style in the terrain park. Keep making the great videos! I like the fact that they are only a minute or so long also! By the time I rewind it 10 times to see exactly what you just did... It's 10 minutes long! Thanks again.
dude your awesome, one thing i wanna know is how you get such great windup and pop to hit 360s and even higher rotations without the help of large jumps or kickers. if you could give me a little breakdown on the comments that would be great but also i urge you to consider doing a breakdown vid in slowmo so everyone can see the tiny movements and adjustments that allow you to get such rotation !! everyone thumbs up if you agree!
I saw every your video. Haven't even thought it is possible to do such things. You are God of snowboard! Thank You for great tutorials and inspiring. Could You please kindly recomend a board to me? I am 6.2ft (189cm) and 176lbs(80kg). I am novice.
I really like your style, you are very smooth. I'm going to buy new board it will be Nitro Team Series 162w but Im not sure should I go for camber or gullwing (rocker camber hybrid)? I would ride it on groomed tracks and would like to learn some butter, tnx :)
hey so i have been watching some of ur how to videos, and this winter im heading up to mammoth to try out a lot of the most basic butters that u have demonstrated. To do these do i need to detune the tip and tail? Or can i get by having everything sharp? Btw great videos keep it up!!!!
Thank you. Yup, its "strange ways" by "silent partner"... its from the songs that UA-cam now allows creators to use for free.... so I bet you can find it from the video manager, then on the left theres an option called "creation tools" and its one of the songs in there.
Damn dude, you are sick. Just wondering how long you've been snowboarding and how long it took you to get this sick buttering down? Because, I really want to learn to do these, except I live far away from any mountains, so I only get out for about 1 week every year.
+Ryan Knapton yo Ryan, just want to let you know that you and these vids inspire me. Quick suggestion: have a current setup on your youtube page, with your board, bindings, gear, binding angles etc so people can find out easily and you dont get asked what board you have multiple times each video. So, before you do that, may I ask what binding angles you're running? also do you change your highback angle at all? or is it straight up. and lastly, do you have a favorite color of jacket that you wear? u seem to change jackets in your vids. thanks in advance bro!

Thanks. Well, for this video I'm using a Burton Custom 158w. Regular camber. Most boards will work though unless they are waaaay too stiff. Good luck!
Perfect control, you make it look easy.
Ryan you are amazing rider! Best luck!!
Yup, detune the tip and tail, and keep the rest super sharp.
your videos get me stoked to ride!

Rayan you are amazing rider!! Best luck!!What is the geometry of boards for butter?
Please do a tutorial on how to do a butter 360 on the ground, and on the fun box. It would be much appreciated (:

You need a poster made of 0.52ish or sequence the whole slash! Rad!
I am sure you have been asked this many times, but do you de-tune your edges at the tip and tail?
Would about an inch or so from the widest part back be enough? And should I really round it with a bastard file... or just slightly round?
Hey Ryan , watched this too many times it really is brilliant, any chance you could let me know who the music is..

Music?
Yeah, an inch is perfect I think. I just take the side of a screwdriver to it until it won't shave my fingernail anymore.
damn, your sick :D
