i know this wasnt your intent with this video but hearing that you grew up poor and felt guilty about your parents paying for stuff for you like i did really resonated with me. im in that stage of poverty that you mentioned where i have to budget everything really strictly and ive been so stressed about money lately that ive had more breakdowns than im comfortable admitting to. it was really nice to hear that you did come out of that and it gave me a little hope that i will get through this phase im in too :) thank you, soony

honestly, i don't think your spending is that bad or out of control. most of the stuff you spent money is reasonable and can't be avoided, like paying for placement-related travel, and we all have to eat. i'm also a grad student who didn't grow up well-off, so i def feel you on the guilt you feel when you spend money. i think as long as you genuinely enjoy something, like bubble tea, and you feel like it's worth it, it's fine to consume it within moderation. for me, i hate bubble tea (def a hot take, i know lol) so i get annoyed when friends asked to meet up pre-panoroma with the explicit purpose of getting bubble tea, bc for me, that's not worth it.

And Daily caps is also £7.2 Also, bubble tea is also an essential thing like salt for me, lol😂(there’s myself recipe, if you want, you can cook it your self, just put a black tea ball in 300-400ml whole milk and heat it 1minute in microwave, than add sugar.)
this is me how I spend on daily basis. I also felt guilty having take out but you know what, its fine! it's for survival, we need food to live. I observed your spending is mostly transportation, meal and food shopping. those are necessity 🤷🏻♀️ I find it wasteful if I shop for clothes, and other misc stuff. but of course having take out in moderation 😊
This is veeery useful, I did part time work all through high school then during uni (in Italy it's a bit hard to work a decent job and study) , and I usually feel so stressed I spend it straight away, so yes I need to start saving properly so I can one day move out rippp
it might be worth putting money into savings at the beginning of the month (or whenever payday is) , so that you know you have enough money to both save and spend it on whatever you want! I don't think you're wasting money, I think it's part London being insanely expensive, and part having your own money after years of not having any that makes spending so much money so easy

Bubble tea is the killer for me! Chattime is so delicious, I can never help myself when I'm around it. Especially when that's the only drink you have when going out, its so fun to hang out with friends and enjoy it. ^^

I also didn't want other people watching to think it's normal for the average student - if you can spend this much and it makes you happy then I'm glad, go for it, you're definitely working hard enough to justify treating yourself... but most students don't have a lucrative youtube channel to fund this

For example, i grew up getting everything that i wanted, but now that i am older and still a student lol + live on my own, i feel guilty for my childhood and I have become so frugal my mom thinks i don't eat and begs to send me money lmao
