- Greater Manchester Police stop and question me FOUR TIMES for no reason at all, as part of "Operation Servator", which is Police speak for "an excuse to bother, investigate and incriminate anyone we please".
None of my videos are monetised or have advertisements placed there by myself. This video has some advertisements placed by UA-cam because of a copyright match in the audible music at the end which was being played on Market Street.

Why stop random people at all? I notice that their consensual conversations always lead to one of the coppers pulling out a pad and pen asking for details. When refused, it's followed by "Why not? do you have something to hide?"

The problem with police officers is that they learn to obey commands no matter what... without any kind of critical thinking about the consequences of their actions.

I live in Manchester and as an ex photographer and someone who watches a lot of auditors on UA-cam I’d love them to try this on me when I’m in town, they need educating on how photography is not a crime.

This line of questioning is very passive aggressive. Whilst it is easy for me to say, you should try turn things around and ask them lots of questions. No way was this a friendly encounter, it was a fishing expedition.

Reminds me of the "beat" cops in the US back in the 50s-60s. They would walk in their assigned neighborhood to show a police presence. They would only engage the public when engaged first. What you have now in the UK is a police state using the threat of terrorism to interrogate anyone they seem fit. Sad times.

The amount of times iv'e seen people auditing compared to this video is mind boggling, how very strange the po's act around this bloke, iv'e never seen po's phishing for info like this at all. That last question is EXACTLY why they try to get your details. It goes on their database and suddenly you are 'known to the police'.

The interesting thing about any consensual meeting with most cops is the way the conversation is one sided, biased and designed to guide the subject into divulging information which the police can use to detain you, ultimately leading to an arrest. Never talk to the police.

The manchester bomber was under surveillance for months before he detonated the bomb, he was watched carrying it into the arena. His brother was arrested in Syria the next day. Well done for standing your ground, here’s my 2 cents worth. This comment is for the entire u.k. not just Manchester. The plain clothes cop has a bad Ill informed attitude towards the public, particularly photographers, he seems, along with dozens of other police officers that the taking of photos in public is illegal and questionable.
I find the reaction of the police to photographers quite incredulous at times. They display such a contempt towards anyone with a camera - be it for video or stills , and yet back in May 2017 in Manchester an appeal to the public was launched immediately after the Ariana Grande concert bombing for anyone to hand in any photos, videos, or dash cam footage to the GMP in an effort to identify any suspicious persons who may have had anything to do with the bombing. They should be grateful for this street level viewpoint of filming and photography, for when (not if) it happens again. Here’s a link…
