- An enduring love story, this traditional Irish folk song was first collected in Donegal by poet Padraic Colum (1881-1972) and also by musicologist Herbert Hughes (1882-1937)
The video was filmed at the Sherwood Forest Renaissance Faire and the Inishowen Peninsula of Ireland. Produced by 2002 and Tim Kennedy of Erin Shore Productions.

This ballad has always been my favorite traditional Irish song. It has been sung brilliantly by many of the great Gaelic women singers over the years. Sarah has demonstrated that she belongs with the best of them. Just wonderful. Furthermore, the video so perfectly captures the story of the song...it is simply an outstanding production on all levels. Thank you for this treasure.

I have heard this version of this song by 2002 probably several hundred times in the last couple of years. It is absolutely beautiful and sublime. You have made something truly magical and timeless, and I love it very much.
