Knew a guy from high school who joined a notorious frat(hazing and later known as a rape factory) at our college just for the same reason. The last I heard from him was that he was dealing with really bad alcoholism. We wanted to help but he just pushed us away.
It's kind of sad that he was desperate enough to go back and hang out with them. That's not a good enough excuse to endure any fraction of what happened before he even was hospitalized.
Sounds like he’s putting himself in uncomfortable situations on purpose because he knows nothing else. That itself, is sad. But the world is full of horrible people and things and it’s your responsibility to not put yourself in such a terrible situation. Sad he didn’t have proper guidance
They need to prosecute. This is violent assault plain and simple. If they won't learn the easy way, make them learn the hard way - in jail. I understand this particular situation happened in a private setting, but, like reported above, it happens all too often in frat houses. If the schools were held liable, they'd soon put a stop to it.

Im friendless but its not bad it does get lonely sometimes but it helps of you have a pet. Im really fortunate to be close with my sisters as well. Im friendless because i choose to. A kid from my town was hit by a train during a hazing ritual at Rutgers University 5 years ago and it got slid under the rug. 5 years later I am a student here and that same frat is still in operation and still performing these disgusting hazing rituals along with all of the other frats here. It is absolutely disgusting that colleges turn a blind eye to hazing because all of the frats being in revenue and by shutting down the frats they will lose money and lose there reputation as a “party school”.

These kind of Acts in a college or high school or wherever they do hazing at should never be ever allowed happen they go above and beyond unthinkable acts it should be banned and anybody that did participates in them or whoever hurts another human being should go to prison and all should pay for what they do wrong it is unthinkable and unspeakable and should never be allowed to ever happen ridiculous that anybody would have to do anything like that to be part of any group who would want to be part of the group that would do something like that to them know thanks and I hope they all do prison time for whoever is found guilty unimaginable

A kid from my town was hit by a train during a hazing ritual at Rutgers University 5 years ago and it got slid under the rug. 5 years later I am a student here and that same frat is still in operation and still performing these disgusting hazing rituals along with all of the other frats here. It is absolutely disgusting that colleges turn a blind eye to hazing because all of the frats being in revenue and by shutting down the frats they will lose money and lose there reputation as a “party school”.
