I have The Airship in French, for the Playskool Teddy. I was SO close years and years ago to getting a Spanish Teddy and tape from a lady in Brazil, but at the time Ebay wasn't working over there for her and the website she was trying to sell him on wouldn't allow currency conversion so I had to give up on him. Haven't seen another since 😭
@@blueoctopede I'm so sorry to hear that you missed out on the Spanish Teddy Ruxpin. I do like the French versions of the stories, despite I live and work in the UK I was actually born in Canada. Thank you for accepting my follow on Twitter too
13:20 The Gabby Bear stories seemed like they were written as 5 minute shorts, but artificially stretched out to 10. That's my experience with them anyways
Wow love it! Best new video of yours i think! 18:24 I have the same tape! Only it has not made in korea sticker on. I think it's rare. And my tape came in a 3rd gen teddy.
Thank you so much!! Good to know that your tape came with the late gen Teddy. Maybe at the time that particular tape had a different manufacturer or something? Since it was made late in WoW's lifespan?
Omg i love your collection!!! I am so jealous. So far, I have cricket, corky, teddy ruxpin, Julie and a couple WoW land of pleasant dreams dolls. I also have a few rare cricket promo items and some of their accessories. I would love to get a jill dollar someday...thanks for updating us on your collection. It's nice to see someone else who is into collecting vintage audio animatronic dolls, I feel a little less weird haha
So, I might be getting the worlds of wonder Mickey and Goofy and I was wondering about making my own cassettes and programming! Firstly, I want to say hello, my name is Brandon and I've watched your videos for a long time. Secondly, I'd like to ask a few questions: 1. Which track is the programming on the tape? 2. Do they automatically mute this track? 3. Could you connect a keyboard to Mickey (can you use the port on the back to input)? 4. Which notes do they prefer for the movements? Thank you for your time and keep up the amazing content!
Nice to meet you, Brandon!! I'll do my best to answer your questions. 1. The programming is on the right track of the tape, and the audio on the left. 2. Yes, the tape player on the original WoW toys (Teddy, Mickey, Snoopy, etc.) is designed to mute the right track and play the left track through the speaker. 3. The port uses a proprietary audio cable so no, unfortunately there's no way to plug a keyboard in. You would either have to connect the motherboard to a PC and make your own program to control the motors, or, alternatively, I've seen people make their own code using radio waves from RC remotes. Both seem difficult, but 100% doable if you have the technical know-how. 4. I don't remember off the top of my head... I have Teddy's patent and schematics saved to an external hard drive in storage, and I know that it has the specific type of motor and radio signal on it. If I can confirm that it's been long enough and everything's in the public domain now, and I can actually get that info. for you off my backup, I'll let you know!
remember with the 2XL the only thing you should have to replace if the motor is still good is the 8-Track player belt and if you cant find one just look for a panasonic 8-track player belt there the universal fit for most 8-track players
You are an inspiration to TR fans everywhere. I don't have NEARLY as much as you do. I think the most interesting TR item in my collection is an Airship tape that I think plays backwards?
Pretty sweet collection Blue! I'm envious of those Teddy Ruxpin books. I had sixteen of them when I was a kid, but when my parents and I went looking for them after we moved in 2016, because I wanted to have them out to look at, we weren't able to find them. So a year later I started rebuilding my collection. However, I only have fifteen of them, with seven of them being ones I'd had as a kid. We don't know if they're just in a box that we can't get at right now or if my parents accidentally got rid of them years ago. Either way, I'm hoping to have a complete collection of original Teddy Ruxpin hardcover books someday, though that's looking less and less likely. But I love seeing other people's collections nonetheless.
I got super excited when I saw Sweets, he's a cutie. Fun fact, because of you and the video you made on your first Teddy Ruxpin, I nicknamed my first Teddy Ruxpin Sweets ♡
My Jill, Corky, Cricket, and Playskool Teddy Ruxpin THOROUGHLY enjoyed this vid!! My Playskool Teddy’s upper jaw snapped and I had to snap it back into place, but it needs super glue and I never got around to getting the superglue. I always enjoy your vids, hopefully you can do a full Jill video on her tapes.
Nice tour, thank you. Love to see other's collections. Regarding your TR books, I need to know the definitive number of book and tape sets. Some people say 38 but I thought there were 40....? I never knew about the Dentist one, that must be super rare!
Cool collection! I have a few Teddy Ruxpins, as well as the talking Snoopy, Mother Goose, and Mickey Mouse, and the characters that interact with them. I have a few other things too, including a Teddy Ruxpin Birthday Balloon, however I'm not sure if I should keep it, as I'm now afraid that if I try and display it, it may get ruined. It still sits on my computer desk to this day between the cardboard that came with it to protect it.
Heya! Could you show the insides of the display teddy (and cassette mech) in more detail in a video? i know you used to have a zshare with pics but that site is dead now.. thanks!
Unfortunately I don't have the full version of that particular WoW promo video. What I uploaded on here, I downloaded for free online many, many years ago. Surely someone has the full version of it uploaded by now... If I find it, I'll be sure to link you to it!
I’m so nervous. I’M SORRY THAT I LEFT THE TEDDY RUXPIN FAN COMMUNITY! I made a mistake! I’ll join again right now! Also, I was a fan of it ever since 2014. You made me a fan of it in the first place!
I have a question. What do you do when the belt for the tape deck mound is broken and the motors are broken? We already got rid of it but, I've been searching for other Teddy ruxpins to get but they all say broken or unchecked.
Hi Blue Octopede! I have a Mother Goose that I am currently repairing, but it’s been difficult finding pictures of a working one’s inner wires. Is it possible you could post pictures of the inside of a Mother Goose, underneath the main motherboard and connectors, so I can have a point of reference? Or perhaps a video on disassembly? Thank you for the videos you have already made, they’ve been my inspiration!
I have an airship tape with screws as well! although mine doesn't say made in Korea. I think the ones with screws came out either really late in production or really early in production.
I have a FAMILY of Teddies... Too many to count... I do have a snoopy and the 8 track Teddy.... I need someone nearby to fix my Teddy's... Do not want to send him far away.... The one up in North Ohio never seems to have the time.....
It is better to sell than donate because if the place you donate to has too many items they may end up in the trash. If you want to give to charity take the money from the sale and donate it.
I didn't know SanDisk marketed memory cards specifically for the Wii, wow, that's interesting. Do you know if those were actually licensed by Nintendo?
You know, it's been so long that I'm not sure. My Wii is a launch day console, and if I remember right it came with that memory card, so that might be the case? Like I said though, not 100% sure on my memory of that though
lol when she was in the closet and she said “there is junk on the floor” and proceeded to kick it to the side i thought she was talking about her grubbys and i’m just like 😳
Hi! Can you please make a video of come and discover the world in Japanese on your Teddy Ruxpin. I know you’ve made one a while ago but it’d be nice if you can upload just the come and discover the world song in Japanese.
Normally I get that sort of thing at my local electronic parts store, but with things being the way they are at the moment I bought them off Amazon instead. You have to specifically search for cassette player belts or belts for car engines come up. It took a bit of searching to find them! Also, there are only multipacks which is annoying because there's going to be sizes you'll never need... Guess it's better to have them and not need them than need them and not have them though.
The model Airship? I don't actually have one! I want one just to display at some point, but I'm scared of dealing with the airbag. I'm assuming it's made of vinyl and that stuff doesn't age well, especially if it's a balloon...
I got a talking Mickey Mouse frome 1986 at a thrift store and he was 25$ and I got him and the lady said he did not work and then I put brand new c battery’s and I put the tape and the tape player worked like it was repaired and the moth and eyes work perfect and he was only 25$!!!
Thank you I’m getting a tape for him in three days I think it is called the impossible journey I’m exited to see if his eyes and mouth work cuse he has a great sound like sweets!
Such an amazing collection Blue. Just a question do you have any of the Italian, French or Spanish versions of Teddy Ruxpin stories on tape?
I have The Airship in French, for the Playskool Teddy.
