The A-Spec is primarily an appearance package, focusing on enhancing the sporty and aggressive look of the MDX. The Type S trim level, introduced by Acura for certain models, including the MDX, represents a higher level of performance.
I purchased my MDX Type S Advance roughly 2 months ago, and it's worth pointing out that you can save a significant amount off of MSRP right now (I saved about 10% by purchasing a brand new 2023 year model), so the decision to go Type S is almost a no brainer if you are in the market for an MDX. I love it, and it's been a good choice so far.
Yeah. I bought my Type S Advance for $67K plus tax, title, and tags. I started with using TrueCar and got 7 dealers competing for my business. I had to buy it out of state but was worth it.
This is one of the best cars I’ve ever owned. 2012 189k miles and still going strong. The only thing done to it was a timing belt replacement at 120 k miles. Amazing vehicle
Wow. At 120k miles? And I have my acura dealership asking me to change my 2019 MDX at 60k . I now have 58k on it. I'm gonna wait till at least 70k to 80k . These dealerships always trying to have someone spend more than needed SMH
No spare tire in type-s because tires are run flats. - also, both on a-spec and type-s, the illuminated sills are an extra and are not included on either trim. I have the illuminated sills on my type-s and it’s very nice.
I have a 2024 MDX Aspec I like the vehicle a lot very sharp looking and fun to drive. The only thing I do not understand is why if this vehicle is the high end brand for Acura it only comes with only 290 HP that does not make sense to me you figure it would at least come with 325 hp especially for the money you are paying for it.
I'm going to have to go over this MDX A-SpecTech package feature list. Not interested in MDX to buy but knowledge. I going to get 2024 Honda Pilot Elite. The Pilot Elite has Multi-View Camera System with front camera washer. Also cameras in each mirror and rear. Ventilated /Heated front seats It has rear Outboard Heated Seats. Did I hear say the MDX A-Spec Tech package does not have rear heated seats. It still doesn't look like MDX has 3rd Row air vents the Pilot does. It's some crazy bean counting at Acura and Honda on features. I been a Honda/Acura owner for 43yrs.
@VagabondBuilds Yes your review on MDX informative. A-Spec Technology package has features it should have. It also lacks some it should have. No heated 2nd Row Seats, No Heated Steering Wheel standard.
Also, consider adding the body side m9l. It adds an additional detail and makes it look a bit more upscale. I am in the DMV where there are a lot of MDXs and literally I have not seen another MDX besides mine with the body side molding. I also have the white color and that side molding stands out in that color.
Most of the differences you are pointing out is the difference between an Advance and Tech package, not Type S and A-spec. Definitely differences in the 2 cars in the review, but not representative of the differences of the 2 models. you should have compared 2 advance or 2 non advance models. Advance has heated and cooled seats, heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, HUD and fog lights, 360 camera, the Tech package does not.

What do you mean? They sold you the type s under msrp?
Yeah. I bought my Type S Advance for $67K plus tax, title, and tags. I started with using TrueCar and got 7 dealers competing for my business. I had to buy it out of state but was worth it.
Nice! Thanks for the heads up!
What area of the country are you in?
@@stevenfarley4738Pennsylvania (but purchased my Acura in Maryland, near Washington DC)

Hats off to Honda for making a great reliable vehicle! Reliability is key with them.
They should use a chain not belt my 2011 Avalon has that.. surprised.. but nice vehicle aside from that

Yeah I would wait on that I don't see any reason not to @@dins5066
Awesome! Love hearing good stories!
Going for the MDX Type S after my lease is up next year. Hopefully there’s a refresh on design and interior. Beautiful cars!
Yes they are beautiful honestly!
I seen pics on Reddit w them test running a model w a frameless grille

Thanks for the heads up and the knowledge. Yea I’m a fan of the plates myself.
Good catch. I was really out off by no spare.

Interesting way to put it but I can see your perspective 😅
The more horsepower the less mpg. This seems to be the sacrifice you would make.

I think these mdx's are geared towards performance and some comfort.. my 19 elite comes with most comfort except the adaptive suspension
Excellent review and detail !
Thank you
Thanks! Much appreciated
Type s is the best car I have owned period.
What is your favorite part?
Just really sucks it has no spare tire. When we put a lot of miles a year, it plays a big role.
Is there a shortage on the type S with the advanced trim? I can’t seem to find them anywhere.
Hard to find in general…. Special car
Is it true you can only get red seats in the Type-S? Thanks!
I believe you have three options. Red, ebony, or orchid Milano interior
How does the Platinum Elite compare to the A Spec?
Platinum elite? In what brand?
@@VagabondBuilds Acura MDX.
@@VagabondBuilds it is only available in canada
Aren't those the buttons for front seat cooling?
Which buttons, I’m sure there are buttons for the cooling seats.
I like the rear add on sport trim on the white MDX. Where can I purchase them? Thanks.
I’m sure you can call the dealer and ask for the trim to purchase, or maybe even EBay will have a type of sport trims.

Man where do I get the add ons???!
The dealership I believe.

Haha haha pretty much really!
its a console not a council.
Thank you 🙏 was the video helpful at all?
Red seats is ugly
I would say it comes down to preference no?
Run flats? Booo!!!
I like my spare tire as well.
So the spare tire is exposed to the outside conditions...My crosstour had a spare tire cover and you are paying over 50k for the MDX .
I’m not a fan of that either. But people are buying them
Ahem, ahem....so where are your other four tires? 🤔
