Had a blast playing Guardian Signs since I played a ton of coop with my cousins. It's a series that'll always have a special place in my heart. I really hope this isn't the end of Pokemon Rangers
Colosseum and XD were different. They didn't have gyms except for that one in Phenac City even though there is no level cap for Pokemon to obey you, there was a more serious plot, there were some twists in the the plots, not to forget to mention that there is is a limited amount of Pokemon you could capture, plus you have to STEAL back Pokemon and bond with said pokemon in order to purify them in Colosseum's case.
I love Shadows of Almia, but I remember the first time I played it you had to capture this Rampardos in a rocky mountain and you had to do loops inbetween when it falls rocks on you, and I couldnt get the timing right so I took damage every time. I was so frustrated that I stopped playing the game for a while. When I eventually I went back on it I actually forgot about some things that when I was reunited with Keith I legit forgot who he was. So they were like "It's your old classmate!" and I was just there like "...Who?" But yeah I love the Pokemon Ranger series
Out of all the boss pokemon the Rampardos was the hardest literally. Hell i had a easier time on Darkrai than i did on Rampardos as the gauge goes down too quickly and you are at a point in the game where you do not do enough damage to it to the point one rock hurts a lot like 2 or 3 kills ya. Even when i was not trying to speedrun it the only way i could beat Rampardos was literally poke assists as its weakness pokemon were in the area
I love and miss the ranger series, i never got bored playing it, it felt like an ACTUAL pokemon adventure, no training just the story and skill via the stylus that's all you needed
I’m in love with Ranger games and I will always be. It’s in my opinion one of the best spin-offs ever, Shadows of Almia is my first place as well as Explorers of Sky. I heard that Nintendo copyrighted a stylus and renewed the copyright for the whole Ranger series. Hope this means something. Plus, now I’ve been in quarantine for almost 60 days, literally the day before the lockdown one of my best friends bought me Guardian Signs and she was supposed to give it to me on Monday. So unlucky.
Been several years and I'm still hoping there's a 4th PKMN Rangers game some day, at even on the switch... Plz Nintendo, hear our cries for a switch Ranger game, ugh 🙏
Pokemon ranger was the very first video game I ever played. I still have the cartridge today all these years later, needless to say this series holds a special place in my heart.
The series was pretty good honestly, especially considering that it demanded more skill than strategy (ok maybe excluding Guardian Signs and it's broken Pichu assistant). I can understand that it will never be back, but you know, I'm fine with it. Makes the DS era even more special.
Yeah honestly, if they ever made another Ranger game, say on the Switch, and I doubt they will, I would imagine it would have completely revamped controls. While it could work in more traditional way in handheld (same with how Mario Maker has touch screen in handheld), I think they would completely redesign how the game works otherwise. I think it could be cool to have more realtime almost JRPG system where you can either switch between partner Pokemon or just have them be automated AI like in the original ranger games. Otherwise, you would be the trainer character and could capture Pokemon using motion controls and buttons to aim and launch something from the capture styler at the Pokemon and then use some sort of input (probably motion controls) to make motions/loops and attempt to capture the Pokemon. Now do I think this would happen? Nope, but I think it's one of the ways they could adapt the game to the Switch.
if they did adapt it for the switch they could make custom joycons shaped like a capture styler, they could probably even make different ones based on each ranger game's styler bc i mean i sure as hell would buy them
The Pokémon ranger games were my childhood. Shadows over almia is my favorite, but I still need to get the first. I still hopeing that they make a new game. Also does anybody know poképark? I loved this two games! And also there I hope that it gets a sequel.
So mystery dungeon is coming back to the Switch. So maybe we will get Pokémon Ranger too? Also I would love to see Pokémon Colosseum/XD remaster or reboot or remake or maybe a sequel.
I recently completed the Guardian Signs game and I can also back up that yes, game is super easy and simple (probably feedback for Shadows of Almia, whose bosses I heard it made people rage), but still quite fun. Not sure if hot take or not, but I dread that Ranger beaomes a mobile phone game, given Nintendo's story with mobile games....
Even if it does become a mobile game, it won’t last long. Rumble Rush and Duel have both shut down within about 2 years of launching (Rumble Rush is closing next month)
Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia was my first actual pokemon game I remember playing (my real first was soul silver but I barely remember that one) and I REALLY miss those games. I got the nostalgia and wanted it in am emulator but it functioned like trash on it. Plus I got rid of my DS years ago. Bring back PR!
It’s fun that nowadays a lot of people complain about a games gameplay meanwhile pokemon ranger did everything so good they could get away with the gameplay being “draw circles aggressively”
I’ve replayed all three of them multiple times and cosplayed as a ranger from shadows of almia, I think you can consider me a super fan and I really miss it :(
I ruined one of my DSes because of the original game too! I never got the Generation IV Ranger games, but I wish I did. I also skipped Time/Darkness and Sky. But Ranger never escaped Generation IV, and I never went back.
Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs was my first ever Pokemon game ever I got. I received it as a Christmas gift in 2010. I'm hoping to buy the First Ranger game (2006) and Shadows of Almia (2008).
I wouldn’t mind if they gave this game a let’s go kind of gimmick where they make a special one handed joy con that looked like the capture styler. I’ve enjoyed shadows more, but that’s because they fix all the issues with what the first game had many problems with. Looking at you steelix boss fight
I talk about Pokemon Ranger all the time and nobody seems to ever know what I'm talking about, and that hurts me on a deep, personal level. Such a hidden gem that deserves more praise than it currently gets.
Only got to play Almia but I loved that game so much. Sucks that it never got a chance on another console but hey at least it gets the title of the only pokemon game where you get a game over from actually dying....
I'd like to see another Ranger game. And this time, I wish they'd incorporate the traditional battle mechanic from the mainline games. We see from the anime that the rangers do command the pokémon they capture to do battles.
Nice film 8 ost through your video dude, i still have it's DVD with ! TIME FOR ME TO REWATCH IT AGAIN ! I love all the Pokémon movies, even though not having the main team in recent movies feels weird.
I could see a motion control implementation for a switch installment... Like holding a ZR trigger to "touch down" the line, and waving it around. They'd probably have to change mechanics a bit to make this work, though - can't imagine drawing like 100 loops in one go. Granted, we'd all be shredded.
Around a month or so ago I found that I didn't have downloaded the Darkrai event on my Ranger game, so after 10 years I got myself a very special Darkrai. I've softresetted for Timid nature and transferred it over. :)
Hard at times but mannnnnn what a classic. Sheesh, just got a wii u from an Ebay auction hopefully i can put my old flash drive in and play it again one hell of a game
JPRPokeTrainer98 I also had pushed down too hard with a one of my own stylus’s and had damaged my DSi XL’s touchscreen as I had been getting stressed quite a few times with some of my games.
What happened to Pokémon ranger, Sonic Riders, Kirby Air Ride, Mod nation racers, where’s the Shippuden sequel to naruto broken bond and DBZ Burstlimit 2??? 😭
I loved the story for Shadows of Almia best too! Starting at the Ranger School & eventually reuniting with your classmates! Then there was the backstory with the king who fell to darkness after banishing 2 of his 3 children & then exiled himself with each of those 4 becoming a different crystal. Fragments of the 3 crystals who represented the children would be used to create the Final Upgrade to the Styler that would be able to loop Darkrai.
I started with the first one, my cousin gave me the second, and when I found out that a third existed I saved up to buy it, completing my Pokemon Ranger set
The Ranger Games did make it to the Wii U VC in North America. Played them in 2016 since I couldn’t go to the ill-fated Pokémon World Championships that year.
Man, the only pokemon games I truly felt challenged by, and also had some of the most fun with Having to blow into the DS to put out fires in the first ranger That damn drapion in shadows of almia And then getting to actually ride the legendaries you caught in guardian signs to complete tasks or travel the world
Pokemon ranger: Guardian Signs was the first pokémon game I finished, and my second pokémon game ever. I really love every single ranger game and really wish for their return one day.
I would still like to see Pokemon Ranger make a reappearance, and it doesn’t even have to retain the loop drawing aspect. They could have a slightly different capturing method to better suit the switch’s controls, but the thing that I enjoyed so much about Pokémon ranger was how it gave such a different sense of adventure from the main series games. Seeing a Pokémon ranger game with the open world aspects of Legends Arceus would be amazing
These games are so great! Top tier spinoffs (behind Poképark of course). This is the only series with more than 2 games were I own every single game physically on the original console, considering I finally got the first one. I’ve actually been playing in reverse, cuz I finished Gurdians, the shadows, and I’m planning on doing the first one soon.
I remember getting this game as a kid, and I never could beat the rampardos at the cliffs. I left the game for years after. came back when I was around 13. I beat it then, spending days upon days to beat it.
I really liked the world building and the focus on story in these games I really wanna see a Pokemon franchise with far more worldbuilding and history in it
Ah I still remember Darkrai, Riolu and Manaphy. I played Almia before I played my first core Pokemon game, so those three were on my first ever Pokemon team. Good times.
The thing I'd give Ranger over the other Pokemon games would be it's overall worlds. I don't think in any other Pokemon game I've played would I surf the seas and see Wingulls flying above or generally any Pokemon just going about their natural lives. I imagine this was a thing in Sword & Shield, but we're talking a game that's over a decade old here.
Now the real question is what happened to the shadow Pokémon series? Felt like that’s series never got a definitive ending and in xd we got some serious foreshadowing to a 3rd game that was just never released
I could see the capture working with joystick controls very well like hold down say the A button to start capturing then use the joystick don't really matter which to form the circles around the pokemons. Think on how they did Skyward Sword for the switch as originally that game was for the wii and needed motion controls but you can just use a controller by using the joystick to move the sword arm. Like it can be done even in 3D just you would have to convence them that it is worth it and would sell well
I remember enjoying playing this game when it came out but I also remember scratching the touch screen to death with the stylus mainly out of frustration when it came to the Pokemon that were hard to "catch" because of how fast I was spinning the pen and how hard I was pressing it down on the screen 😅
Ranger on Wii U actually would make sense because Kirby and the Rainbow Curse is a touch screen Wii U game that's a spiritual sequel to a ds game, they could've done the same for Ranger. Would've been nice to get more spin offs on the Wii U too
Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy :)
you too

I'd like to see another Ranger game. And this time, I wish they'd incorporate the traditional battle mechanic from the mainline games. We see from the anime that the rangers do command the pokémon they capture to do battles.
Nice film 8 ost through your video dude, i still have it's DVD with !
TIME FOR ME TO REWATCH IT AGAIN ! I love all the Pokémon movies, even though not having the main team in recent movies feels weird.
Guardian Signs was one of the first games I ever played! I really adore this series!
Even after having a very popular UA-camr playthrough one of the games
Ranger still remains criminally underrated
I remember having the biggest baddest pokemon following me, even though they were useless.
I remember Guardian Signs had an awesome multiplayer mode as well. Spent a lot of time playing that with my friends lol.
Hard at times but mannnnnn what a classic. Sheesh, just got a wii u from an Ebay auction hopefully i can put my old flash drive in and play it again one hell of a game
I think you're gonna hit 100k by the end of the year at this rate, keep it up :)
Thanks buddy!
JPRPokeTrainer98 I also had pushed down too hard with a one of my own stylus’s and had damaged my DSi XL’s touchscreen as I had been getting stressed quite a few times with some of my games.
Every time a new ranger game came out, I'd buy a new screen protector lol. I still have the last one on, covered in circles
Pokemom ranger and pokepark are extremely underrated and they need to come back for a second chance on the switch at least
What happened to Pokémon ranger, Sonic Riders, Kirby Air Ride, Mod nation racers, where’s the Shippuden sequel to naruto broken bond and DBZ Burstlimit 2??? 😭
Also WHERE IS SLY COOPER 5?!?
It needs to come back in some way
*Casually Plays Pokémon Rangers*
I am the biggest Pokémon Ranger expert. Mainly because it was my very first Pokémon game (: Specifically Shadows of Almia
To this day the Steelix mission still haunts me to this day. I nearly broke my DS screen by spinning so fast xD
Love the 2nd game alot more being able to change your partner and story wise too i like starting at a school and seeing what your classmates become
It’s so sad we never got a sequel, I loved that side series so much and playing it still is a fun twist on the poke-formula
You mean a 4th? There's three games.
Seira Hikari sorry I meant 4th lol
i know it’s not likely they make another pokémon ranger game but it would be so fun to use the joycon as the styler, a la wii-mote days
Hey, who put this bowl of Mystery Dungeon here?!
Hahahahahaha
Oh, a reason to boot up my European Wii U and buy some VC games that are apparently good.
Cool. Sucks that NA didn't get them.
Thank you so much for all videos you made. You are one of my absolutely best youtubers ever. :)
Jsi borec. Mám moc rád tvoji tvorbu.
Way more enjoyable (my favorite being ranger signs) than X and Y in my opinion.
Edit: Guardian Signs* sorry
I started with the first one, my cousin gave me the second, and when I found out that a third existed I saved up to buy it, completing my Pokemon Ranger set
The Ranger Games did make it to the Wii U VC in North America. Played them in 2016 since I couldn’t go to the ill-fated Pokémon World Championships that year.
Man, the only pokemon games I truly felt challenged by, and also had some of the most fun with
Having to blow into the DS to put out fires in the first ranger
That damn drapion in shadows of almia
And then getting to actually ride the legendaries you caught in guardian signs to complete tasks or travel the world
Shadoys of almia and guardian signs are the only pokemon games i have replayer 5 times or more.
I’d rather be a ranger than a trainer
Bro Pokémon ranger finished my childhood, I am right now just crying of nostalgia
I actually was going to make this into a video but now I feel like stealing 😭
If it makes you feel any better I wouldn't mind at all, I feel like you can make something of the same topic still feel like an original creation!
Well, you can’t have this series without a touchscreen- *oh wait.*
Omg that onion bit was pure editing magic
Man I lost my Pokémon ranger games I’m still but hurt about it man I used to love them… to this day I’m still waiting patiently for one on the switch
By the time nintendo switch came out pokemon ranger games are aldready dead, not expecting new ranger games, it is simply could not happen
Bruhh “touching is good” that didn’t age well
I remember getting this game as a kid, and I never could beat the rampardos at the cliffs.
I left the game for years after. came back when I was around 13. I beat it then, spending days upon days to beat it.
Guardian Signs in particular is a game that’s very near and dear to my heart for several reasons.
I really liked the world building and the focus on story in these games I really wanna see a Pokemon franchise with far more worldbuilding and history in it
Like in detective pikachu or the other Pokemon movies
lets be honest ether Pokemon rangers was before its time or screen protectors came a bit too late.
This popped in my recommended after I just fully beat shadows of almia. UA-cam knows
Ranger 1...shadows of almia are pretty awesome
After seeing bits of the manga, I’ve been wondering this for a while
Ah I still remember Darkrai, Riolu and Manaphy. I played Almia before I played my first core Pokemon game, so those three were on my first ever Pokemon team. Good times.
I still have conniptions about darkrai and drapion boss battles. Riding raikou around was pretty fun tho
I’m still waiting for Pokémon ranger on the switch because I just finished shadows of Almia but it probably won’t happen
Now the real question is what happened to the shadow Pokémon series? Felt like that’s series never got a definitive ending and in xd we got some serious foreshadowing to a 3rd game that was just never released
Might have to address that one fairly soon!
Caleb Lewis if we get a remaster collection of the first two with a new game I might cry
