    Thanks, you pointed out some meter behaviors I didn't see in other HT118A videos.

    Fine review, I have two of these Kaiweet 118 meters, and like you have noted here, they are a nice DDMs for the modest cost. I also have some Flukes, that cost far more, but don't have some of the features of the Kaiweet.... I find that for most tasks, I will use the K 118s before the Flukes....Again, nice review...-BC

    What about shorted diode test in diode mode give short beep like good forward diode because if you touch the probs in diode mode give short beep like good forward junction is this normal in this multimeter HT118A

    Concerning the "short" beep on continuity. If you press the "HOLD" button then the sound is continuous.

    Excellent review! Thank you. One thing....how does one use the HOLD feature? It's not in the manual. My hands have the probes so i am not able to press the HOLD button, otherwise liftng the probe stops the meter reading. Please advise.

      On the back side of the meter , you have leads holders. You can always have one of the leads permanently attached to the multimeter while you hold the whole multimeter with one hand. Your other hand holds the other lead. In this way you can press the hold button with your thumb. That is one way. Another one would be to manage holding both of the leads with one hand(like you would hold chopsticks). Another way would be using special insulated alligator clips for the test leads.

    Hi, Thanks for the great video. One question, I notes that your HT118A keeps the backlight ON all the time. On my HT118A, when I press the light, it give only like 10sec and then go off automatically. Do you know who I can set up the Multimeter to keep the light on all the time? Wait to heard from you. thanks!

    • @FunElectronicsToday
      @FunElectronicsToday  3 роки тому +1

      Hmmm. This is very interesting. I have no idea about this. Mine keeps the light on for 10 minutes or so. Maybe we are looking at two different iterations of the same make or we have two different firmware versions. This is worth investigating so maybe we need to open up a blog post somewhere. All viewers are welcomed to comment if they have info on this.

      There was an early firmware update after the manufacturers watched youtube reviews
      The voltage defaults to DC now, it defaulted to AC before and the backlight stays on now whereas it was on for only 10 seconds before.
      You can still get the older version on Amazon with a discount.

    Interesant aparat de măsură, chiar eram curios daca măsurătorile sunt cu +/-0.8% cum zic ei in comparatie cu Fluke. Btw interesant canal ai un like de la mine si un share. Poate faci si in romana ca sunt cam puțini care învață copii putina electronica. Baftă si astept videoclip-uri noi.

    I bought a Kmoon HT118A four months ago. Used it for 2 weeks then put it aside. I picked it up again recently but found something wrong. When the dial is set in the 4 light blue gears, ALL lights(top, whole screen, 4 insert jacks) are blinking and sound beeping. Everything seems fine when the dial is in the orange gears. Changed batteries but no help. Do you have any idea what might go wrong? Thanks.

    what happens if i accidentally measure ac voltage with my multimeter set to dc?
    have you ever tried? my ht118a burned out

    • @FunElectronicsToday
      @FunElectronicsToday  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, I tried it. Nothing happens; it just doesn't display the correct measurement on the screen. Maybe you had it set to amps, miliamps or milivolts. I don't know. Or maybe you had the test leads positioned incorrectly while attempting to measure AC.

      I have made this mistake myself. I accidentally switched to ampere measurement.

      It just did. Because more people asked me the same question, I tend to believe that my multimeter was having a different firmware version or something.
