In Matthew 28:19-20 is Jesus’ command for baptizing in the name of the Father, Son, Holy Ghost is regarding WATER baptism AFTER becoming spiritually baptized as a believer. However, Acts 2:38 it is a SPIRITUAL baptism. Peter is telling sinners to repent and be BAPTIZED is clearly not speaking of a water baptism but being converted by repenting. I was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ as well. While I don't particularly care for Gino, he's correct about this topic. I can read in the Bible how the Apostles were baptizing others, using the phrase “in the name of Jesus Christ” or “in the name of Jesus.” Our baptism signifies our participation in His death, burial, and resurrection. The terms "Father," "Son," and "Holy Ghost" are titles; it’s important to note that the Father and the Holy Ghost did not die, nor were they buried or resurrected. The Father and the Holy Ghost are spirits, and only Jesus died for our sins. It was Jesus’ Father who raised Him from the dead. Gino does not believe that Jesus sits at the right hand of His Father, which makes his baptism meaningless as well.

I had a near death experience with very little Bible knowledge, I called out to God for help and he helped me. Personally I think we complicate God's principles and standards. Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved and I did . I was baptized in the name of the father , Son and Holy Ghost. As believers we need to be transformed by the renewing of our mind. We need to accept Christ as our Lord & Savior. As a child I was baptized but had no clue what I was doing. I still was acting crazy, later on as an adult I got baptized again. Either way I ain't stressing nor tripping about if I did it right or wrong. Not gullible either don't listen to nor do what everyone thinks I should do.

Scribes and Pharisees act real religious but they are far away from God. Only God knows who's for real and who's not. I have nothing against Gino, but every time I come across him sharing on social media he's tearing someone down or saying someone is wrong. On judgement day we are all going to stand before God and give an account. Jesus is the only head of the church. One plant, other waters and God alone gives the increase.

When Jesus said baptize in the name of the FATHER/THE SON/& THE HOLY SPIRIT, nobody and I mean nobody was baptized by the Apostles using THE FATHER/THE SON/THE HOLY SPIRIT. WHy is this, because the Apostles understood what Jesus was talking about. People can’t say they believe in the scriptures but then add their own understanding. Gino makes sense on this subject. It's not a debate! You must specify who you are giving the authority too. My question is... how may of those that weren't baptized in the name of Jesus spoke in tongues? Remember lots of folks after being baptize receive the gift of tongues. So... let's do some research and ask folks who were baptized in the name of Jesus vs The father, the son and the holy spirit. That will settle it all. So... who out there spoke in tongues after baptism in the Church of God in Christ? We need all to be truthful... so we can understand what is the right way of baptizing.

John the Baptist was there preparing the way until Jesus show up. I got baptized by Gino Jennings church staff three years ago. It was a fight just to show up to it, I got hit with doubt but I knew it was from the enemy. For people that believe water baptism isn’t a part of salvation, why did Jesus command the apostles to baptize? Why did Peter tell us that water baptism saves us? It’s true that we have to have faith first, but baptism has to follow that.

Gino is 100% correct. Jesus in Matthew 28:19 did not say repeat after me….he said, “in the name of”. You are a father, that’s not your name, you are a son, that’s not your name, you have a spirit, otherwise you’d die, that’s not your name. JESUS is the name. Acts 4:12, Colossians 3:17. We go from faith to faith. We grow in knowledge and faith. We know better, we must do better especially when more about God is revealed to us. Faith without works is dead. Greater knowledge of the scriptures means greater follow thru. The Apostles did say Be baptized and call the name of Jesus. I know many that were baptized again not because their first baptism had no conversion or show of their inward faith, but the 2nd was their own realization of what they came to understand and what they became convicted of on their own after reading how the early church baptized after the death and resurrection of Christ. Title baptism came into being through Catholicism. Let every man seek God in fear and trembling, not fear as in afraid, but reverent humility realizing we are all striving to see His face. I am grateful for Denzel and his steps in Christ. He is growing as we all are.
For the record, Denzel's walk has been circumspect. He's been in the perfecting process for a long time...as we ALL are! And, his wife, Pauletta and I were in theatre together. Why is this important? The original Hebrew given name means “HE BECAME SALVATION”. Meaning, Eyah (Father) became salvation. Eyahusha (Son) was born of the HOLY SPIRIT. Eyahusha (Son) was raised from the dead by the HOLY SPIRIT. And Eyahusha sent the COMFORTER (Holy Spirit). In the name of means use the PROPER name. This is not up for debate. It is not a suggestion. It is a commandment and Act 2:38 is the fullness of this command concerning baptism. Sir, you are making an issue of the phrase “In the name of…” You are taking a Western approach, not a Hebrew understanding of which the Apostles knew and understood. Because the baptism was under the authority of Jesus Christ. But not the formula of how to baptize. The formula was given in matthew 28:19. God will receive either way. As long as the person is sincere and surrendering their lives fully to God. So either way is ok. The important thing is to truly be living for God and dying to your old self.

Matthew 28:18 - Jesus has “all” authority; which means he has no less than 100% authority in heaven and earth. So that means “nobody” or “no one” has more authority than him. So if we want to be baptized, we should have the one who has “all” authority called over us. Also the Greek word for “all” in verse 18 has this meaning: 3956 pás - each, every; each "part(s) of a totality" (L & N, 1, 59.24). 3956 /pás ("each, every") means "all" in the sense of "each (every) part that applies." The emphasis of the total picture then is on "one piece at a time." 365 (ananeóō) then focuses on the part(s) making up the whole - viewing the whole in terms of the individual parts. Jesus is giving that revelation here. Hence Paul caught that revelation when he said: “See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ. For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority.” Colossians 2:8-10 ESV

Also why do some think baptism saves you, read John 5:24, ppl are saved by hearing the good news and responding with faith in what was heard. Baptism is a work you do sometime after salvation not something done to be saved.
Your spirit was dead, the good news is preached to you, you hear and believe your dead spirit is now alive to God, you are no longer spiritually dead, you have been saved. This happens before water baptism.
This is one time I would "respectfully" beg to differ with Pastor Jennings. Not being baptized does not send you to hell. What you believe and confess with your mouth saves you. The Bible provides clear evidence to support this: Faith is the Foundation of Salvation "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved-you and your household." (Acts 16:31) "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast." For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved." (Romans 10:9-10) Pastor Jennings Stands on Scripture Pastor Jennings always goes to the Bible and stands by the word of God. Therefore, if baptism were required for salvation, scripture would explicitly say so. He would need to show verses that state not being baptized sends someone to hell. The Role of Baptism in Salvation Mark 16:16: "Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned." This verse links belief and baptism but specifies that condemnation comes from unbelief, not the absence of baptism. Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation." If Jennings think you must be baptized or your not saved, that’s saying, the crucifixion of our Lord is not enough, Jennings wants to add works to receive salvation, that goes against scripture. Gino Jennings is 💯 correct regarding to the baptism where is it the Apostles baptized accordingly to St Matthews 28:19???? NOWHERE it was done in the name of Jesus Christ or Lord Jesus. It really doesn't matter, though I prefer that water baptism be in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. After all, water baptism is simply an outward sign of one's inward spiritual regeneration (showing one's death to the old man, and the rebirth of the inner man; buried with Jesus in baptism, and raised a new creature). "Jesus" is simply the name we use in the English language. And the Bible wasn't written in English but was "translated" for English speaking people to better comprehend, and the Bible was also translated into many other languages. So when United Pentecostals or those in the oneness theology water baptize in Jesus’ name, they do so to avoid acknowledging the Trinity, but they’re not getting around that, hard as they try because when they water baptize in Jesus’ name, they are still baptizing in the Trinity (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost) because Jesus is in unity with God the Father and the Holy Spirit.

If you have time, read Acts chapters 6 & 7. When reading chapter 7 verses 55-60, how would you reconcile what Stephen is seeing? And when reading Revelation 5:1-7, please explain the taking of the scroll from one person unless there are two Persons involved in the exchange. The entire book of Hebrews expressly points to the Triune God, but for the sake of time and longevity I will point to certain scripture passages. Hebrews 10:11-15 “And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God;13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.14 For by one offering he hath perfected forever them that are sanctified. 15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us. . .” NOTE: All three of the Godhead is viewed as separate and distinct, yet God.

In Matthew 28:19-20 is Jesus’ command for baptizing in the name of the Father, Son, Holy Ghost is regarding WATER baptism AFTER becoming spiritually baptized as a believer.
However, Acts 2:38 it is a SPIRITUAL baptism. Peter is telling sinners to repent and be BAPTIZED is clearly not speaking of a water baptism but being converted by repenting. In other words, when a person repents and is converted, he is then spiritually BAPTIZED into the death of Christ and raised into the newness of life.

No you're wrong, water baptism started even before Jesus was on the cross, water baptism was just a sign that's why John started doing it saying he's preparing the way for Jesus Christ, who will BAPTIZE you with the HOLY SPIRIT. I had a near death experience with very little Bible knowledge, I called out to God for help and he helped me. Personally I think we complicate God's principles and standards. Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved and I did . I was baptized in the name of the father , Son and Holy Ghost. As believers we need to be transformed by the renewing of our mind. We need to accept Christ as our Lord & Savior. As a child I was baptized but had no clue what I was doing. I still was acting crazy, later on as an adult I got baptized again. Either way I ain't stressing nor tripping about if I did it right or wrong. Not gullible either don't listen to nor do what everyone thinks I should do.

I got baptized by Gino Jennings church staff three years ago. It was a fight just to show up to it, I got hit with doubt but I knew it was from the enemy.

We go from faith to faith. We grow in knowledge and faith. We know better, we must do better especially when more about God is revealed to us. Faith without works is dead. Greater knowledge of the scriptures means greater follow thru. The Apostles did say Be baptized and call the name of Jesus. I know many that were baptized again not because their first baptism had no conversion or show of their inward faith, but the 2nd was their own realization of what they came to understand and what they became convicted of on their own after reading how the early church baptized after the death and resurrection of Christ. Title baptism came into being through Catholicism. Let every man seek God in fear and trembling, not fear as in afraid, but reverent humility realizing we are all striving to see His face. I am grateful for Denzel and his steps in Christ. He is growing as we all are.

The name Eyahusha is the given name, not Jesus. Why is this important? The original Hebrew given name means “HE BECAME SALVATION”. Meaning, Eyah (Father) became salvation. Eyahusha (Son) was born of the HOLY SPIRIT. Eyahusha (Son) was raised from the dead by the HOLY SPIRIT. And Eyahusha sent the COMFORTER (Holy Spirit).

Because the baptism was under the authority of Jesus Christ. But not the formula of how to baptize. The formula was given in matthew 28:19. God will receive either way. As long as the person is sincere and surrendering their lives fully to God. So either way is ok. The important thing is to truly be living for God and dying to your old self.

Matthew 28:18 - Jesus has “all” authority; which means he has no less than 100% authority in heaven and earth. So that means “nobody” or “no one” has more authority than him. So if we want to be baptized, we should have the one who has “all” authority called over us.
Also the Greek word for “all” in verse 18 has this meaning:

3956 /pás ("each, every") means "all" in the sense of "each (every) part that applies." The emphasis of the total picture then is on "one piece at a time." 365 (ananeóō) then focuses on the part(s) making up the whole - viewing the whole in terms of the individual parts.
Jesus is giving that revelation here. Hence Paul caught that revelation when he said:

Also why do some think baptism saves you, read John 5:24, ppl are saved by hearing the good news and responding with faith in what was heard. Baptism is a work you do sometime after salvation not something done to be saved.
Your spirit was dead, the good news is preached to you, you hear and believe your dead spirit is now alive to God, you are no longer spiritually dead, you have been saved. This happens before water baptism.
This is one time I would "respectfully" beg to differ with Pastor Jennings. Not being baptized does not send you to hell. What you believe and confess with your mouth saves you.

Pastor Jennings always goes to the Bible and stands by the word of God. Therefore, if baptism were required for salvation, scripture would explicitly say so. He would need to show verses that state not being baptized sends someone to hell.

It really doesn't matter, though I prefer that water baptism be in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. After all, water baptism is simply an outward sign of one's inward spiritual regeneration (showing one's death to the old man, and the rebirth of the inner man; buried with Jesus in baptism, and raised a new creature). "Jesus" is simply the name we use in the English language. And the Bible wasn't written in English but was "translated" for English speaking people to better comprehend, and the Bible was also translated into many other languages. As for water baptism, it is an outward symbol of an inward action-showing one is dead to the old man of sin and buried, and now made alive in the newness of life in Jesus Christ. Water baptism is SYMBOLIC. So, when a born-again believer is water baptized, according to Matthew 28:19-20, that person is acknowledging the Oneness and Trinity of God.
“19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
So, the question you may asked is, “Why did the disciples water baptize in Jesus’ name instead?”
The answer: Because the disciples knew that Jesus is One with the Father and the Holy Spirit as a Trinity, and therefore Jesus’ name identifies with the Godhead.
This is why many Oneness Pentecostals have a difficult time viewing God as ONE but also a Trinity. They continue to see the word “one” to mean singular instead of a unity. This is why they can’t comprehend the following verses:
John 17:11, 21-23 “And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.” (Notice, “. . . keep through thine own name. . .”) Singular-not names.
John 17: 21-23 “That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.”
If a simple math equation came close to understanding God as One but also Triune, it would be:
1 x 1 x 1 = 1
God the Father x God the Son x God the Holy Spirit = God
Three distinct Persons in the Godhead but one God.
“Elohim” (Elohiym) is also used in the Hebrew Bible for God in the plural form, which is evidence of the Godhead: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
So when United Pentecostals or those in the oneness theology water baptize in Jesus’ name, they do so to avoid acknowledging the Trinity, but they’re not getting around that, hard as they try because when they water baptize in Jesus’ name, they are still baptizing in the Trinity (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost) because Jesus is in unity with God the Father and the Holy Spirit.

And to be baptized in Jesus’ name doesn’t necessarily mean there is only one correct baptismal formula since the singular “name” is used instead of “names” in the plural. Afterall, a singular name can apply to two or more, as in the example of Genesis 5:2, 11:4. Also, if only one name is meant, it doesn’t necessarily need to be Jesus, it could be “Lord,” which is the New Testament (NT) equal of the name Yahweh in the Old Testament (OT).
Granted, salvation is through Jesus Christ alone (John 14:6), however, it does not mean that Jesus alone is God. The name which is above every name (in Philippians 2:9-11) is not only Jesus, but the additional name given, “Lord” (see examples Acts 2:36; Romans 10:9; 1 Cor. 12:3, 2; 2 Cor. 4:5). Keeping in mind that “Lord” kurios is the NT equivalent of “Yahweh” or “Jehovah” the name of God in the OT (Acts 2:21; Romans 10:13).
And as for Oneness theology, keep in mind that the Father and the Son are presented in Scripture as two Persons in the Godhead who are two self-aware subjects. And the evidence for them being two persons is obvious. Consider John 5:31-32; 8:16-18. When Jesus said “. . .there is another who bears witness of me. . .” the word “another” is allos. Allos is used to mean someone “different from the subject who is speaking.”
It is imperative that you see God as He has shown Himself: one God who eternally exists as three distinct Persons in the Godhead.
If you have time, read Acts chapters 6 & 7. When reading chapter 7 verses 55-60, how would you reconcile what Stephen is seeing?
And when reading Revelation 5:1-7, please explain the taking of the scroll from one person unless there are two Persons involved in the exchange.
The entire book of Hebrews expressly points to the Triune God, but for the sake of time and longevity I will point to certain scripture passages. Hebrews 10:11-15 “And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God;13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.14 For by one offering he hath perfected forever them that are sanctified. 15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us. . .”
NOTE: All three of the Godhead is viewed as separate and distinct, yet God.
