I'm heading to GT in a few weeks and this was a nice run down of places to consider for brekkie. I also appreciated having chapters and the names of each resto for each chapter. Made it easy to add to my bookmarks in Google maps. Thanks for the video!
Was in Penang last week. I went to this Toh Soon Cafe which is only 3mins walk from my Campbell street hotel and had to order a take-away breakfast so I need not join the long queue. I bought quite a variety of their breakfast items and I must say only their coffee, both hot and iced is impressive. In fact it’s really good. The rest of their breakfast items like Kaya toasts, pastries and Nasi lemak are just mediocre. 😅 Dim Sum at the old school Tai Tong restaurant is ok but they are popular with the locals. There’s another one on the main Campbell Road that also serves dim sum. I will say dim sum is just average fare in Penang.
Thanks for your comments! Agree about the coffee at Toh Soon which was the reason we went there. We knew that Penang dimsum might not be as good as some of the other Malaysia cities but we wanted to try it at one of the old, established brands. We like dimsum in general so it’s still a decent and enjoyable meal for us.

0:49 koay kak is not carrot cake, koay kak is made from rice wherelse carrot cake made from carrot..
The Singapore chai tow kway is made up of rice flour and shredded white daikon. It doesn’t have carrot even though it’s called carrot cake.
