    I used to love the sigma 16mm f1.4 on my GH5. Recently rented the full frame Sigma 35mm f1.2, and it's absolute dream setup on the S5, also lowlight is just ridiculous

      You got a night visor with that 35mm f1.2 lol...I should try that lens one day!

    Amazing, thank you very much. I am for myself surprised that I would go for the 70 or 85 by the aesthetics appearance, on the other hand I like wide angle because it captures the whole surrounding and this way I can very well document our family story. With 85 it could be any building, any shipyard, any mountain or whatsoever in the background. Tough question. But this 13 or 16 FF equivalent also gets more and more inflationary.
    Aha, maybe this could be a good combination, 16 and 85, then I have both 😅😅

      Thank you for watching Marc! I don't really like ultra wide angles, the elements in the pictures are pushed too far...I'd rather do panorama with 24mm or 35mm, but that's me ahahah

    What's your favorite focal length and why? I'm curious!

      Apart from what I said above about shooting events with a 24-105 and a fast prime, my personal shooting these days is with the Zeiss Distagon 35mm f1.4 in Leica M mount. Way smaller than the EF or Milvus, and more attractive image quality and rendering than just about any other lens I've used.
      35mm with shallow depth of field covers so much, from environmental portraits to groups, to landscapes and street. I like 21mm for travel because it captures a sense of everything you can see without excessive distortion.

      I actually love 85 mm a lot, even though I rarely end up using it. It’s got the perfect balance between a cinematic subject separation while still maintaining an intimate space. 35 mm is by far the most versatile focal length though

    There was a time when I shot events with a 70-200 equivalent. After that, I could do events with a 85/90mm equivalent, with a small minority of shots with a 24mm or 35mm. At another time, I shot mostly with a 50mm. What I'm now finding optimal is a 24-105 f4 and fast prime on a second camera either a 35, 50 or 85/90.

      That's actually the same setup I use for weddings, because you never know what's going to happen...I like to pair the 35mm F2 with the 24-105 F4 ;)

    My s5 came with the sigma 45mm 2.8. I’ve learned that I don’t like this focal length. It leaves me wanting 35mm.

      Oh nice, did you get the free 45mm f2.8? I never tried that lens but I think is one of the most interesting lens from sigma....

      @@LucaBono.Studio Oh, you're waiting on that 45mm 2.8 Sigma! Ha! Can't wait to see what that's about too. I just bought an S5 and hope to get that lens too!

  • @HGQjazz

    Yeah, it's a bit silly when people ask in the forums which lens they should get. But yeah, 35mm is my default. I can always make something happen with that lens. Yes, sometimes 85mm is better. Sometimes 18mm is better, but I can ALWAYS make a 35mm work.

    • @LucaBono.Studio
      @LucaBono.Studio  3 роки тому

      Yeah the 35mm is so great! Some people love the versatility of the 50mm because it can blur the background more...but I prefer to blur the background less!
