Just like Ardbeg, special releases are not always worth it. I wish distilleries would put in more time focusing on their core lineup. This expression is too sweet for me and I wouldn’t buy another bottle. I respect everyone’s palette and we all have different experiences with scotch. Overall this isn’t a fabulous expression line of whiskies for me. I bought this expression because I love the Japanese wood influence, this one in particular. I loved that taste but it just hit me as too sweet. I admit these days I am leaning way over to Lagavulin, Ardbeg, Laphroaig, Kilchomen, and the many spectacular peated single malts. This didn’t compare for me. Great video and thoughts! Cheers!

It was good whisky but the extra price that you pay for these releases make you expect a bit more. We still appreciate the experimentation!!
