This is why I don't go to the popular touristy places

My experience going to the Senso-ji temple yesterday, a popular spot
What I did there and what I saw
Thoughts on being present at the places alongside taking photos for memories
Just came back from a month long trip. Definitely had more fun walking to some destinations through neighbourhoods when they’re not that far away than just going there by train! Also the occasional restaurant finds are great
I do the same sometimes! It gives a different feel/experience to the place you're in. Thanks for sharing!
Also not a fan of sticking to touristy places! When I went to Japan I did just a few, that had noticeablely beautiful sights, then stuck to trying to mix in with the locals. A yakiniku place in the frigid north of Hokkaido or a hidden izakaya in the lesser known streets of tokyo. Run into more interesting scenes, you see another world. Their mannerisms, interactions, vibe etc. Really gave that stranger in a strange land feeling.
My trips to Japan were always super fascinating because of it. Enjoy man!
Love it, thank you for sharing! That sounds like a great balance. There's so much to explore there!
I've found most of the tourists in these areas (Senso-ji Temple in particular) to be extremely annoying. Not looking where they're going, stopping abruptly while walking as part of a large crowd, pushing in front of others, blocking entrances/exits, etc. The attraction is usually worth seeing for a few minutes and then ducking off to somewhere more pleasant before I'm in a bad mood.
Haha I (unfortunately) agree...
Have fun
Thank you!!
