I made this and it turned out great. The recipe is actually very versatile. You can use arbitrary store-brought broth (I used "Better than Bouillon - Vegetable Soup Base" and arbitrary store-bought frozen dumplings.

Happy to hear you enjoyed this! Yep, lots of room to substitute here. My mom usually used what was on hand.

Made this for dinner tonight. Used frozen gyoza (cuz too lazy to make my own 😅) so was super easy and it came out really tasty. Hubster went in for seconds (good thing I added extra gyoza!😆)!

😆 If you wanna avoid the pork it'll work with my veggie gyoza too.

I'm gonna make your chili oil, but I am gonna use Mexican peppers to do it. I'm curious to see what it'll taste like.

I used Thai chilies in the last batch . The color wasn't very good, but it was 🔥

italian here great video, you made something close to "tortellini in brodo" without knowing, cheer up ! great cuisines reach the same conclusions by different roads !

What happens to the dumplings if you make a large batch to have for the week?

From No Recipes blog: "Follow these tips to save leftover gyoza soup. The most important thing is to store the gyoza and broth separately, otherwise the dumpling wrappers will continue absorbing the soup until they turn to mush, leaving you with very little broth. When you're ready to eat it, just heat the broth and veggies in a pot and then add the gyoza back in just long enough to warm them through."

Great recipe! Is Bok Choy possible? Will it also take 10-15 mins?

    • @kathcares

Great idea! Seems to me that Bok Choy would cook about the same. I'm going to add thinly-sliced carrots to mine.

Yes bok choy would work great. But I would recommend cooking it for less time. I tend to like bok choy more crispy and green. With Napa cabbage I like for it got get softer.

Your clothes match the bowl anyway.
