Thank you. I just did this on my Yamaha V-Star 250. Easy to do and did not cost me a single penny. I used a brass stock from work. Easy drill and assembly was simple. Yes I ride a 250 to and from work. 20 miles a day at $5 a week in gas.

I am glad you are not listening to that guy I personally love the fact that you work on bikes as well as the various other things like electronics. Haters are always going to hate just keep doing your thing cuz your channel is flat out awesome.

Just got this bike and this really helps with ideas on approaching saddlebags. Haven't bought any bags yet, but thinking I can probably jury rig something and use your approach for the mount. Thank you, sir.

Years ago those press studs had a longer stem for thick leather. As a car trimmer, I remember them well. They also went on MGB hoods. You could fit , something like a used cycle inner tube, doubled over at the bottom. Just needs thinking about!!!

I used some 3/8th aluminum round stock. heated it with a propane torch flattened the ends and drilled them for bolts, then bent it to shape so far it looks great and works great.

That's a very imaginative solution for a saddlebag bracket BUT you cannot just open the saddlebag because the turn signal is in the way. You have to unzip the whole bag and remove it to get anything out. I think I can use some of your methods to relocate the turn signals and make up some extension wires in order to mount the turn signals farther back on the fender. Then I can use your methods to make a bracket. Thanks for giving me the picture in my mind so I can get started. Oh, if you cannot find a piece of rubber to fit over your flat stock then how about wrapping some duct tape or electrical tape around the end to keep if from rubbing (metal to metal) the paint off the control arm.

Great video you're very innovative! Was wondering though what bags are those? And where did you find the crash bar?

Glue a bit of bicycle tyre inner tube to the bottom ( about a 5 inch piece) which will stop rubbing and stop rattling. Glue inside the rubber and it will hold well and last quite a while before needing a new piece. Stops the saddle bag rattling as well and wearing.

I think an outtakes video from the videos you've already made would be an entertaining watch.

I went the other way! I move the bags forward over the shocks. when riding the bag is half way under my thigh looks cool only hard core HD say it's wrong! I would sat there's no rule so try it! Sarah

If you get longer bolts for the seat, you can shim the seat bracket on the underside of the seat with washers to take the pressure off the seat. :)

You keep going, if I had somewhere to do such things I'd be the same. Not even a shed now though,.

Oh yeah. You might want to check back next week for the second in the robot series. I'll be working on it for the next few weeks for Maker Faire North Carolina. Unless robots bore you. :)

At the bottom put velcro instead, easier to attach and remove. With the top snap I would suggest a backing plate as well, that GRP tends to fracture with time.

I would use some super adhesive and put some felt or like material on the back of the brace to keep it from rubbing paint off. Unless you aren't all that worried about it.

If you find that's not stable enough perhaps you could mount another snap to the back of the saddle bag and secure it to the aluminum strap near the bottom as well.

It's an imperial measurement, so does that mean the USA still feels it's part of the empire, when even the UK uses metric, mostly. Although we're still using miles of course, that's about the only official measure left maybe, except we still quote mileage as miles per gallon even though we have to buy the stuff by the litre. Oh and acres seems to be more often used for land still. I guess it'll all go eventually.

Or you could just remove the rear turn signals to the end of the rear fender. That way they are not in the way of the saddlebags.

Robots are good. Been working a few simple ones, if I could just get some parts. Been trying to finish up a line following robot, converting a little toy that went forward so that it can go backwards and forward with Arduino and H bridge, and also convert and RC car to Arduino control. Unfortunately one I have is surface mount so I think I have to gut it and just with with Arduino and lose rc part :(
