Bought '22 Honda Super Cub and saddlebags are the one thing I've been struggling with. I've been putting some real money into it to "make it mine" and not just buying cheap things that will fall off, but saddlebags... damn. I get that "you get what you pay for", but I don't really need $600+ saddlebags on a bike that isn't going more than 15 miles a day. I COULD buy the Honda hard bags that are meant for the bike, but $400 and shipping would be almost another $200 from Japan. The struggle is real.
Oh I feel the struggle. I'm 1k into my current set of bags. These were a great option if you want hard bags. with $100 more you could spruce them up more with sturdier mounts, a police style guard rail, better weather stripping etc. More options and less fear of damage with these IMO.
Ive been eyeballing these bags, i usually just strap a tall backpacking gear back on the sissy bar and go, but want some more "safe" from sticky fingers and water storage for if i stretch out and take the little sporty for a trip. Always been busy taking bags OFF my bikes until needed, first time wanting to get a pair for runs...
Hi folks, thanks for sharing this. I have a question, as I'm considering on purchasing these bags. Is the plastic quality good enough, as per the video it looks quite weak. Thanks in advance. Ian
Great video mate. Keep them coming. I checked out the bags you linked, they are almost exactly double the price lol. I'm still gonna get em and try em. I just got almost the same sissy, I got a fold down one to hold a can from viking bags for my 20 sporty iron special, was a nightmare to install, had to remove all the struts, covers, lights etc, all with the tire on because I don't have a cheap lift, my other one took a crap. N e ways, I see you have a serious channel too and I like your approaches. Good job mate
The bags! Hey great video and install tutorial. Would you still recommend those bags today? I just bought them yesterday so what's your one year review of them?
Unfortunately I don't have the bike any longer, however I would reccomend them especially if you upgrade the mounts to wobble a little less. But even without they did very well. Dropped on both bags, no major cracks.
Do the bags still have that “slim” look to the bike? Or does it look a little bulky I have a swing arm bag on mine I like it but it’s a bit small lol and how would the bag hold up with the V&S pipes you think the exhaust would hit the bag and maybe melt it?
They sit pretty close to the bike, slimmer than my leather over the shock bags with more room. As for personal taste there are a few shots of the rear. I recently put on an upswept 2into1 and it has a couple inches of clearance to the bags and they don't get hot. You choose where the bags mount though, so you can give it the clearance you want when installing.
Just came across your video !! Nice bike . I'm looking to put hard bags on my 2001 vulcan vn800a, how have they held up? How are they on the highway? Any and all information is greatly appreciated!! ride safe
So far so good. I commute about 40 miles all freeway and I haven't had a problem. Not a ton of miles with them tho. As far as storage space they're much better than my old bag with a sock cut out meant for this model. Only thing is they do bounce a little and if you have something like a lock you'll hear it in there. But for 80 odd bucks I definitely can't complain.
Pretty well. Drop tested them totally on purpose on both sides of the bike. They did crack slightly at the mounting holes, but no serious damage or failure.
To each their own, but these sit closer than a lot of other bags. If you want them flush you can buy different mounts or make your own and have them wherever you want.
@@ZozzerRidez definitely nice bags for the price but yeah I’d definitely want to fabricate the mounts to sit them in a little more close to the fender other then that great for the price
@@ZozzerRidez I will! I'm very very Interested . I got a 20' iron, got the back Indicators off right now, so I'd like to see if I can get a set of cheap bags on it before I make my trip to Milwaukee in June
@@ZozzerRidez what year bike did you put those on? I'm actually almost about to pull the trigger, I need to know what year that is u got. Dude, nice work man.
NO ! You would never want them to open from the front to the back. That is absolutely backwards. For so many reasons. The number one reason is if the latch / lock ever breaks, or you don't have closed and latched correctly, the wind will blow it open and probably break the lid. Also.... Look at any hard saddle bag that has an integrated light in it. The light is always in the back of course, and they always open back to front. Key / lock always in back. Hinge ALWAYS in front
Thank you for posting these. I never would’ve thought to match the bags up and drill the holes.
Thanks for the video. The instructions were not in box. Bought the exact same bags off amazon. 👍
Well done Boys!

really foudn this vid helpful as am trying out similar bags for my marauder. Early congrats on 1k!
Cheap but great bags for almost any bike 👌 Thank you!
@ZozzerRidez if I were to change the colour of the bags from black to red, would to suggest either spray paint or vinyl wrap?
@@MotoMarauder haven't used wrap myself, seems like it could be a simple part to wrap.
Between the two bags you can get a 7 lbs. Of ice and 15 beers in them.
Hi ZozzerRides.. great and informative video. please may you tell me what rack and panniers the previous ones were ? thanks .
newbie subscriber.
Those were Sportster OEM bags, OEM mounting.
nice bro i just bought some and gonna put them on my homda rebel 500

Ive actually had these on my street bob for almost 3000 miles now. I mean… they work bro 🤷🏻♂️ look acceptable and you can’t beat the price 😂
After double sided drop testing, can confirm worth $90 haha
can you post a pic of yours and how they are mounted? @thatguyskye4308

Where did you buy all your cables from I can’t find anywhere that sells longer ones I have 12 in apes I wanna put in my bike

lol thanks for posting this video. also your bike is beautiful!
Thanks, sure do miss her!
Did you use the stock hardware that come with the bags
Yup, you can watch me lay it all out. If I had a welder I'd probably add some support to them. They were a little bouncy.

Lmao those hand signals 😂 Love it. Love this vid! I think ima get those for my Sporty!!
Thanks! I think they're totally worth it, even if they only last a month or two haha 😅
We’re just expected to ignore the 61 drop top Impala being disrespected? Lol
you should see the backyard 😅
@@ZozzerRidez 😲
Hey, can make an update review of the bags after 7 months?
Keep an eye out, just finished a trip and put them through a bit , I'll show how they held up
You had to relocate blinker?
You probably would, but I haven't had rear side signals in a long time. They're integrated into the taillight.
you need a 6th gear! hahah @10:03
Thing had pretty good pull clear up to 105 👌 1250 don't want no 6th lol.
But I do have one now.. haha
Where did you get that sissy bar?
8:33 Why does that look like where John Conner and his buddy with the mullet worked on their bikes?? lol
Almost same house, just different awnings I think. Lots in CA here.
How's the bags holding up?

What’s up with that ace rag? Lol using a savings account car for storage 😂
Not bad just wish the gap from the bags to the fender wasn’t so big makes it look tacky with bags not being flush

The hard bags look very nice on the bike good job but don't ever put that other seat on your bike it doesn't look right it to big and bulky
Thanks! Yea I don't care for the look of the other seat but when I do 300 miles with my passenger I for sure use it.
half way through and after about 5 times saying 80 dollar bags i still don't know if they were 80 each or 80 for the pair. pretty frustrating.
found it, i used your link, that was a useful addition.
@@trailguy same as $80 shoes, they come in pairs.
You don’t need to take out the previous saddle bag holder, it’s ways better then the Amazon saddle bag holder.
Dunno if it would or not, but it goes to a set of classic sporty bags that stay with the bags.
They're now $159
Wrong ones, these are 105 now. Check my link.
