Matteo Is the new, the future Just become. Is an alien, of another Planet. Nobody can only think what he plays. Surely the best guitarrist of t'ha story, and we got him...
To me, Matteo has the same impact as the young EvH, Steve Vai and Joe S. I´m shocked, overwhelmed, almost devastated. This guy has come to stay among the greatest. But of course my greatest respect to his mates. What a Trio. Can´t wait to see them live.
I agree he has unique and amazing technique. He in my book is more interesting than Joe S. and he has time to place himself on the level of importance Steve Vai. Thats a big hill to climb. EVH is among the one of influential players of all time. EVH as far as technique is concerned has been surpassed many years ago. What EVH had that most don't is a natural ability to swing and break rules. His influence will be huge till cats my age die. To be clear none of those three are a influence on me, however I'm in my 50's and grew up with all three. I look forward to watching Matteo grow.
Just took guitar to the next level. Much like van Halen. When EVH came on the scene, I remember, we thought this was the highest level that it could be played. And now
It's drop D, of course, because of making it more heavy. It's the most metalish/rock track of his first album 🙂 Matteo is from a different universe, proves it over and over, and again and again. First I saw the covers, then the improv and waited with my own comments for his own music as a writer/composer. After Silkroad and Drop D.. It was confirmed. Matteo is THE next level. You can often hear a lot of influences/or styles like Jeff Beck or Eric Johnson, but then his classical, background, the jazz sessions and covers, blues... his techniques with fingerpicking indistinguishable clean like playing with a pick, scales, chords, arpeggios, chromaticism.. it just doesn't stop... The way he uses it all and and makes it his own... man.. speechless every single time... 😐
Matteo is just incredible. you look at him doing crazy leaks in full comfort. no sweat at all. God!! his technique is unique at the the sound's so clean. JUst from another universe. Some will say, ages from now, "he's a legend'

Ostro seems to me like a robot. He transmit me no emotion. MM plays with a great technique (his right hand technique is UNIQUE IN THE WORLD), but plays with heart and soul. He appear as a normal person. He go in tour, play in bands, record album. He's a real artist, not a YT guitarist.

I didn't mention Ostro in preference to Mancuso etc. ...however, I think Ostro appears as a normal person too and has a great sense of humour ...some of his playing may seem a bit sterile but in amongst all that I thing he is challenging some boundaries too. The most complete player I’ve seen…great technique, feel, tone, and compositional skills. Jazz, fusion, blues, classical, country?…no problem.

That was more metal than I usually hear from him. Amazing. Check out his rendition of Room 335 and his NAMM 2023 performance.

I love the part when he puts the hood on. The whole album is amazing by the way. Very good variety of songs. Most are not pure rock like this.
