Undeniable brilliance and Compositional feel intersect .
Love his "Samba Party" & the cover of Weather Report's "Havona" also .
Blessings to you and your dear ones .

Saw him live in Sacramento 10 days ago. He's the real deal. New solos during his compositions. An amazing Jeff Beck cover. Lots of musicians and guitar players in the crowd and everybody was going from shaking their heads in disbelief to laughing out loud to yelling with enthusiasm. After the show he stood outside and met everyone, signing albums. Can't wait to see what he brings in the future. Very exciting.

This guy sticks out like a massive monument in a desert. That bassist is absolutely phenominal and where he positions his tone in the spectrum is perfect for the lack of a better word. Will buy their music.

Damn, that was incredibly smooth, and reaaaaaaally well written (and performed!) Loved the bass, especially at the end there, and the beginning to the solo after that turn couldn't have been better.
Awesome stuff, Geebz, I have a couple of people that would love to hear this! Thanks for sharing it with us.
Appreciate all you do; i'm still here, and keep on rocking!🤙🤘

Mostro mondiale!!!

Great stuff indeed. Not a single player below the others ....this is the greatest rocksound disguised as a fusion jam I've heard since Spectrum in 1973 ....with guys like John McLaughlin, Billy Cobham and other excellent musicians. Well done guys or better ..."ben fatto ragazzi !". Cheers from Italy.....the land where music has found its realm and terminology.

Is this the guy that was originally a bassist but has been doing guitar recently? I read about someone like that in a Steve Vai interview but I don't remember for sure who it was. I love songs like this, but only in doses. Highly technical instrumental music fries may brain after about 15min and I kind of get ADD. I need some vocals to attach to

Standing on the shoulders of quite a few giants but still making it his own - I thought the quiet section was like Vai's older stuff chordally and the bit with the bass solo section was very Steven Wilson (Guthrie/Marco - HCE era). It's bugging me which Larry Carlton track it sounds like too - it's more the swing and phrasing than the actual notes!
It's really not what I would have expected him to do - he's very jazzy, fusiony and this really melodic and a bit more straight - but great! He has a bit of a unique tone too due to not using a pick - and he's been doing that since I first saw him about 8 or so years ago doing DT and Paul Gilbert covers :p

When he starts writing music that hits an audience beyond guitarists, but he NEVER will.

      Pretty big statements here.
Many great guitarists AND non guitarists have already shown their appreciation for Matteo Mancuso and his band...I wonder what kind of masterpieces you appreciate to disrespect so deeply Matteo, or maybe he is the one who stealed your girlfriend?

    • @shackfighter
      @shackfighter 6 місяців тому +2

Check out his other compositions if you didn't like this one. I think his phrasing and slow lyrical playing are just as strong as his fast playing. And his fast playing is not just "stock licks"...he's doing some accomplished, complex improvising that demonstrates he's been listening to the strongest jazz players out there, playing a variety of instruments, as well as all the best rock guys. The coolest thing is he seamlessly moves between styles, often in the same tune. There is no shortage of fake internet guitar sensations who play BS at lightning speeds, but this guy is NOT one of them. If you write him off, I think you're missing out.
