Listening to this on my Pixelbuds Pro 2. I gave up making codecs a deal-breaker. Other stuff is more important for me. (multipoint above all, good gestures, LE Audio for future proofing)
I just picked up the Pixel Buds Pro 2 after losing another pair of the original Pixel Buds (this was the second pair I've lost as I misplace things a lot) I've waited on opening the box just in case I find my old pair but I don't really see that happening as it's been a month. Having a pixel phone and the ability to use my device on the case was the biggest deal breaker this time around lol. How are you liking the Pixel Buds Pro 2 so far?
Hey James! Hope you're doing well. I'd really enjoy seeing you do a kind of "best practices" (or more like your personal recommendations) video about equalization and sound quality as it relates to the in-app, system, and third party equalizers. To give this some context, I'm a Poweramp audio player (on Android) user for my locally stored music, and also use UA-cam Music for streaming audio. Recently, I added Poweramp Equalizer into the mix (on a Pixel 7 Pro), and this has completely shaken up (and woken up) my favorite/preferred buds. It's simply amazing, as it has auto detection of UA-cam Music and Spotify (I believe). So, to finally get to the point: Do you use all of any of these levels of equalization? Or, for example, do you set the in-app and system EQs flat, and use only the earbud app EQ? I'm not referring to what you do for testing, but rather how you use these features during every day listening. To be honest, being a bass and volume junky, I tend to set a V shaped curve in the player EQ, the Android system EQ, and then modify the earbud app EQ to my liking. Now though, with Poweramp EQ added into the mix, I'm getting absolutely stunning sound with even more adjustments there (it offers preamp gain which is nice too). So, yes, large size can of worms here, but you're Picky, you can handle it. 😃 Thanks for your time and effort!
haha I love it! I mainly use an iphone so I just use the EQ's in the earbud's app. I have used wavelet on my Zenphone 10 and it's a great EQ but the EQ layering I have never dabbled in but very cool stuff
I've been wanting to upgrade my JBL Live Flex to something that just sounds significantly better overall... For the last 4 years I've used non in-ear buds and I just love how they feel (I once bought the first gen Huawei FreeBuds Pro and they kept falling out), but after watching your review of the OnePlus Buds 3 I've been thinking to going back to in-ear, just for the sound quality. Between the OnePlus Buds 3 and the Galaxy Buds3, wich pair has a better sound?? Is there a lot of difference between them in that aspect? And if so, would you recommend going back to in-ear?
Love mine. The most underrated feature that doesn't exist on other buds is "hands free voice commands" Just saying play music, stop music, next song, previous song, volume up, volume down, answer call, reject call does the command right away (no need to summon the assistant for these commands) I have a Magic V3 foldable so I can so set up the phone somewhere to take a group photo and then say "play music" and it snaps a picture (play button in the camera app takes photos) Btw, the battery lasts for a long time when not playing music (they save battery well while not playing music). This is unlike many others which drain battery when outside the case even if not playing anything. The rest of the experience is also great (sound & mic quality, fit, case, app, etc.) but the commands and gestures are perfect here which makes it even nicer to use. Wish the high quality codec was avaliable on non-samsung devices though.
Hi, i noticed you never did any comparison of the jbl live bud 3 except against other jbl buds. Are they as good as the liberty 4 pro in sound and transparency?
Sup, Picky Audio! I just bought the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro for Black Friday and I had a question for you! I work in a detailing shop where we often use pressurized air to detail cars. I've noticed since using these earbuds at work that the speakers seem to be picking up the pressurized air, accenting and emphasizing the air noise rather than canceling the air altogether. Do you know a work around for this or some kind of fix?
Hey! It sounds like that type of frequency just isn’t getting blocked out with the cancelling. It can also seem more emphasised as other noise is getting blocked out. Buds with an ear tips will be your only solution sadly
Have you ever tried the buds pro 2? If so how did you find they fit in your ears? I only ask because that's what i have and if they fit well for you then the buds pro 3 might be good for me. Thanks
So uncomfortable for me tbh... Love the sound of them but I truly felt a lot of discomfort and even some light pain when I had them for over like 30 mins
@@ektasix Really? I'm the complete opposite. I can wear the live for hours. Meanwhile the other in-ear samsung buds, my ear starts to hurt after wearing them for a long time.
@@Mtubes24 I also dont really like in-ears, I previously had the airpods 2 and the fit on them was just... perfect, but they didnt sound that great. The buds live on the other hand had a pretty good sound, but they caused me pain (i still used them for hours because i didnt had another option lolz). Now Im using the JBL Live Flex and they feel more like the Airpods 2, but the sound isnt what i was expecting.
@pickyaudio oh i just saw it! Sorry about that. I was expecting galaxy buds 3 and galaxy buds 3 pro to be compared in the same video so i thought you didn't review the pro. Unless you have a video side by side comparing them? Also curious why you didn't compare them together with the other earbuds
Yes it is. But I used the air pods pro 1,5 Years long and I cleaned it, but I had an ear infection. It hurts so bad. I never wear ear pods again. Only over ear headphones.
Total agree. Im using airpods pro 2 on iOS and Android and love the audio quality, anc, transparency, pocketability and usability. Fit and comfort are great. Nearly 2 years old and going strong. And the battery can be replaced.
What a great review, nice to see the Samsung Budz Live make a guest appearance
Cheers! A classic bud

Good move! Codecs barely make a difference

I currently have the buds live, do you recommend switching to the buds 3?
The buds live has been the best fit for me, I'm just hoping the ones I have will last a lot more years.
I hope Samsung does a FE version of them.
What buds do Press and hold for continual volume adjustments opposed to just a single adjustment? Does my question make sense
Yep! Plenty of buds do I can't remember but Sony WFX5, Sennheiser momentum buds
Love mine.

Smart move with using play music to take a group photo! Glad you're liking them
Thank you for another great one, Picky! 👍
Thanks!
Hi. Great video.
Do you test them on iPhone or android?
And is there any difference in sound quality of ap4 non anc, when used with andorid?
The buds live are my go to for work. Love them shts

Yet to test them!
if you have a samsung device, just go for buds 3 👌🏽 (if you are ok with the fitting)
Hey Picky if possible please review qcy h3 pro. I want to know if it fixes the issues with the h3

i used this and really liked it, problem is that it keeps slipping out of my ear (never had this issue with my apple airpods 3) so i returned it
Damn!
Where are the OnePlus Buds Pro 3 on the ranking list? They used to be rank 1?
This is a half in ear ranking

Why you didnt mention the Oneplus at all being your best ranked earbuds for a while?
Where is liberty 4 nc
I agree I have the pro3👍
How about xiaomi buds 5?
I put foam cover on them and they won't charge in the case anymore. Any solution to that?
The case is designed to fit the buds as they are
Oneplus buds 3
Or
Earfun free pro 3
Which is better in term of sound quality?
This will be my upgrade from moondrop space travel
This is the best half in ear for me.
Nice!
Why didn't you review the galaxy buds 3 pro?
