Just installed them on my lifted F-150. Love the steps but sorely disappointed in the lights. You'd think that for $1,800 they could have provided a decent set of lights. I wound up ordering a different set of lights and replaced them. I'd also say that it was very hard to find info about the height and extension profiles of the standard versus the XL version. I finally found a gentleman who had posted several measurements on a forum that he had made during several installations at their shop. For reference, I put a 4" suspension lift on my 2016 F-150, and it is sitting on 35" tires. The standard PowerSteps are basically extended to the same location on the truck as a stock/OEM set of running boards would be. That was way too high for my configuration. The XL version with the additional drop comes down to the perfect height above the ground.

What lights did you end up going with?

These look like fucking junk . There is literally a harness under the cab where the factory steps plug in . Why would anyone drill a hole and hook these up to an ob2ii port when the factory wire harness is already outside the truck. What a joke of nigriggin bs

OK, so our OBD II connector came with 4 wire instead of just the purple wires. It has an extra blue and white wire, so where do those go?? Thanx, Enjoyed the video. Raul PHX metro

I’m getting these boards.i only have a 2” level but the permanent boards I had on b4 got pushed up 4wheeling...lowest part of the truck...... as far snow and not functioning, I’ll find out when I get to the mtns of Lake Tahoe.....yeah it’s not Michigan or those freezing states but snow is snow.. The best part is my truck profile looks awesome when retracted.
There was a statement regarding $$$$ ....yes these are expensive especially when yer having yer local 4x4 $hop install.

How do the motors hold up in the salt belt? I see many f150s with the OEM power boards fail quite often

True that. My running boards failed on the drivers side. It won't retract back into place and it's real slow on the passenger side as well.

not a good option when you have a lot of ice and snow and very cold conditions unless they have changed the old design if not they get packed in with ice and snow

So do the stock ones. So much so that the truck says I'm about to hit something damn near all winter. It looks like these may get stuck in the tucked position though. Thinking I may try out nerf bars. Going to lift it and put 35s on so may as well.

Wat would b the problem if the front of the running board has a gap and the back is flush? Can u also change the the light color to white?

Running boards are my anti-door ding device. I would never want them retracted.

Dual function! Gotta love *giving* the door dings when people swing their doors open carelessly instead of receiving them! 😂 -Zach

I’d like to know the best way to clean these and dress them. What is the material and finish on these, does anyone know? I’d love to know if there is a dressing you could use on the underside of the step to keep it looking black and clean when detailing the truck. Thx

Do they hv them with a red led light????

  • @bluesib

After ordering the steps my recommendation is DO NOT follow these instructions. Don’t start with the module at the bottom you have to feed both wires down. Also do not run the drivers side along the front you will not have enough wire to plug in the steps or the lights.

I know the stock 2016 f150 running board will fit the 2021 because I took my old ones off and put them on my 2021. Does anyone know if these will fit the 21-22 model?

Any thoughts about lightly greasing the gears (when assembling the motor? Secondly, silicone the perimeter of the dust/seal cover?

Stock height trucks do not need these at all. If you have a solid grab handle and are not disabled they are just a nuisance.
