I have a pair on my 2016 Ford F150 lariat model, i’ve had them on my truck for about two years now and a great and wonderful everybody loves them makes it easier for my wife to get in and out of the truck the great product. They’ve been flawless and the way they operate I’ve had no problems with them they’re out of the way when you don’t need them they quickly deploy when you do.One of my favorite purchases

I just installed these on my 19' 2500 and as soon as I stuck the fuse at the hot wire in the steps raised up and won't go down when I open the doors. I assume this is the same instal as the 18 you did so I was hoping maybe you could point me in the right direction. Did you ground to the frame and where did you tie in the hot wire to the battery. This battery has like 5 different locations and Im thinking this may be my problem. Thanks in advance!

06:58 Might want to get the AMP Research Override Switch because standing on that will cause heavy strain on the gears, and motors over time. That will lower the life expectancy of them in the long run. The switch is also real simple to install and they allow you to keep the steps up when you don't want them out, and down when you want to clean them.

My driver's side developed a clicking sound when they reach the fully retracted position and if deployed I can pull it up slightly and get the same click. Called customer support a couple times to help troubleshoot. Ultimately they recommended about $50 in replacement parts. Dealership installed when truck was new, that was three years ago and they haven't needed anything other than lubed until now.

+Steve007362436 that’s pretty solid. I had no issues with durability but I have read other reviews that say they are holding up. I’ve seen some complaints of icing up, I didn’t have any problems in Buffalo, NY with them.

I replaced the main shaft and brass drive gear, also a wedge that locks the upper link into a flat on the main shaft, kinda hard to describe. Working perfect again. Really nice to have with a 6" lift and 325/60R20 tires and the truck looks better with them hidden away.

My experience today was a disaster. I have a 2016 RAM Laramie 1500 truck.
I had the chrome steps but they were too close to truck to be any use. I went to the dealer and had the automatic step running boards installed today. They seemed to work OK. I drove down to Home Depot which was about 2 miles down the road. When I got in of the truck the running boards retracted then extended and retracted over and over. It was doing this on both sides. My wife was upset not knowing if they would just break and fall down.
We were about 1 mile from the dealer so I headed down the feeder road all the time the running boards were banging up against the truck.
The accessory lady came out and saw what was going on. I video recorded this while they were looking at this. She called the people that put them in and told her to leave the truck. I got a loaner truck from the dealer and went home.
This was my experience with the electric running boards. I hope they can get this problem fixed as soon as possible.

Will Snow and Ice hamper the rails from working correctly?
Will they get frozen from water and Ice build up?

I've talked with a good number of AMP Research step owners (IN-PERSON) at their vehicle here in Canadian Rockies.
Very low satisfaction rate, with most all of the units FAILING in 2 years or less.
Asked if they, a after market shop, or dealership installed prior to delivery (most pre-new delivery)
Real world experiences, with actual owners, in front of my eyes (not online), right where I live.
I would have bought these (or the HD edition) had the results (life expectancy) been better.

I got a call from the dealer and said my truck was ready. When I opened the door I saw the name on them was AMP:
I sure hope they don't go out of control again! That would tear up the gears in the motor unit.
Another thing when they hooked the wires to the battery the positive battery protector cab won't fit.
When I close the hook the naked 12volt terminal is close to the hood.
