Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. And good on you for putting daily miles on these cars. They're meant to be driven. Also Cooper is adorable. 😉
I'm with you! I've been dailying a 991.1 C2 (manual) for about 9 months. I picked it up with almost exactly the same number of miles as yours, and have since added 10k more. It's been great so far! Had to change out the spark plugs and coil packs and flushed the coolant to stay on top of servicing. Nothing unexpected & no rattles! I haven't done CarPlay, but hopefully will this winter (~6 months from now). Two questions: 1) Any quirks with the CarPlay module? I hear they can be flaky at times. 2) Does your throttle module change the linear feel of the peddle? I'm guessing it must. I like the idea of it, but I'm not sure I want to mess with the linearity. Maybe it's still linear but at a faster ratio? Think that might be fun.
Carplay is fine. Sometimes it has the odd hiccup but this is the best carplay kit I’ve found for the PCM units (link is in description) For the pedal kit, you feel the power being delivered a lot sooner, and then tails off toward the higher end of the rev range. You can adjust it as you see fit, some settings are too aggressive, and some not noticeable at all.
If you could only have one 911 and you were going to Daily it, would you pick this one or the 997? (This is my actual scenario… I currently have the 997 and thinking of switching to 991 now that I’m dailying a 911). Thanks!
Honestly the 991 for daily driving. 997 would work to an extent, but the 991 is more comfortable, feels bigger inside. So I’m a way it’s probably more suited to daily driving than anything that’s gone before it. 992 is probably better again
I pay just £20 less vehicle theft/tax for my mk1 Audi tt 1.8t with about half the power of the 991! makes perfect sense! Love that blue by the way , very nice.
I use mine as a daily driver for work and everything else. I clocked nearly 800 miles this week which is a bit 13:24 unusual for me, but it’s a great all rounder for me, which coming from a couple of C7 RS6s is high praise. I’ve found it cheaper to run and maintain than my previous RS6 and better mpg too, especially on a long run. I’d agree with all you’ve said about daily driving it, they say that Ferrari owners brag about how few miles are on their cars, while Porsche owners brag about how many miles are on theirs! These cars are made to be driven and are great fun, I’m finding I’m actually less precious about my 991 than I was about my old RS6! Work that one out!
Nice video as always! Thanks! That mpg...could you summarise your typical daily journey pls that teturns 20mpg? And keep up the great work... Thank you.
Stop start with a couple of sets of traffic lights and a few long road at around 60mph. But I can also easily acheive this figure on most journeys so long as I don’t drive like senna.

Thanks for asking & taking part 👍👌
one thing i'm curious about is the channel name changes. Didn't you start with The Porsche Network & made to change it before?
There’s been a couple of name changes yeah

@@alsatch_ Appreciate the input! The throttle module isn't too expensive, so it's at least worth trying out. Thank you!

Love driving my 991.1 S cab !!!
Great stuff I personally think the 991 is the nicest of all the cabs through the generations. 👍
Your tax £415? I'm paying £695 for a manual 991.1 cab! Outrageous!
Yeah £415 not sure why you pay more 🤷♂️
@@alsatch_ because it's manual I suppose.
@@beanykeyoh I wasn’t even aware the Manual would cost more than the auto tax wise. Every days a schools day 👍

Great video. Does the 991 have more space in the rear than the 997?
I would say yes. But it’s marginal.
Very useful information and review , look forward to see your new video ! 🎉
Thanks so much!

Great content as usual i've been following your channel for almost 4 years now and you use to upload content weekly can you go back to this? Thanks
Yeah I just struggle with time these days but hopefully a few life changes later this year will allow more content on a regular basis. Cheers mate 👍
love the shot where the dog rests his chin on the centre console thinking to himself "FFS, why cant we just take the audi" 🤣
Ha! I think the van was his favourite but that’s gone now 😅
