I wish I could have got this kind of advice when I was in 1st year. You're so open with everything and I can relate to you a lot since I was in a tier 3 college. I graduated last month and I've been following you since. Please don't hesitate to say the truth, it really helps.
Always
Bro i graduated last month as well......i got placement in infosys but didn't recieve my joining date since last 6 months...i'm trying hard to get another job .So could you pls help me what's should i do now as there is only 2 months left in end of 2021 ??????????
@@lokeshsharma5954 bhai bohot websites hain remote jobs offer karti hain..sab pe resume bhejke dekh
@@lokeshsharma5954 apply for TCS phase 2 bro
@@lokeshsharma5954 i have heard in internet that service companies like infosys have delay for joining date
Dont worry ,it is said that delay can go as long as 1 year also, they will tell joining date ,only delay is there,DONT WORRY,all service companies like tcs, infosys re like this they delay joining date,it doesnt mean you are rejected, they will tell joining date ,just wait,ok
Point 1- Find college with 0/no attendence issue
so that 1 can spend time in self learning
Point 2- Learning in public share the good work u do in public contribute to open etc,
it will build your network use twitter as primary platform twitter has more opportunities for developers than linkedin lots of developer friendly communities are active on twitter
Point 3- Take guidance from right people for eg if you're from IIT or tier 1 college don't take guidance from kunal cause he has 0 experience about on campus opportunities vice versa is also true if you're from tier 3 college don't take guidance from IIT people cause you can't relate to them & then you have to suffer don't take guidance clickbait youtubers who overhyped FAANG or competitive coding take guidance from people who have global exposure
Point 4- Don't run behind certificates Skill>>>Certificates
don't follow youtubers from FAANG companies they make clickbait & trap
Point 5- If you're from tier 3 don't run behind FAANG India they are biased towards Tier 1 student
and next thing is FAANG is paying good but not that much its hyped it's good but overrated
you can make good money, work culture n exposure via remote opportunities
working as intern in remote can give you better learning & exposure than FAANG companies
Point 6- CP is completely waaste of time if your end term goal is to get placed
do CP only if you're passionate about about it otherwise leetcode & kunal's DSA course is more than enough to clear interviews
It's very important to join good communities
Point 7-Explore various technologies cloud devops, open source etc "know something about everything & everything about something"
it's pie shape learning checkout kunal's video on that link in description & checkout kunal's video on how i joined my fav communities
Point 8- Mindset few people have is competitive remember open source is about contribution not competition so be contributive not competitive communities you join must be supportive Learn together Build together Grow together
Point 9- Subscribe to kunal's channel he's few of the people who provide genuine guidance complete DSA course
Point 10- Believe in yourself & kunal & work hard don't take guidance from IIT people CP coders cause you can't relate to them & it will ruin your career
Thanks a lot 💪
Can do everything but first one is not possible ..i have a college with 85% attendance criteria (i swear people from third year had 81 ,79,83 ) they weren't allowed to sit in sem end exams ...and I have classes from 8 to 5 daily ...and no off on Saturdays ....i am so depressed tbh

Man I really loved your honest opinion about the low tier college curriculum 😂
Dude you're really a GEM for us I found your channel randomly and I don't have words for your content.
I'm a first year tier-3 college student and your videos are really helpful for me.
7:52 bro spitting facts!! he is the real deal!!! what i like most about kunal that he is not making tonnes of roadmap to get into faang and top tech and actually help us to become a better developer!!....thank god he is not making this jee 2.0 where getting into faang is the only deal...introducing us to open source, learning in public , remote jobs , building connections and many more!!!you deserve everything bro!!
Bro lot of similarity.... But many differences also... similarities like
1. Failed jee
2.tier 3 college
3. English mst bol leta hu
Differences
1. Ghanta coding nahi aati😏
2.attendance ke liye g**d fad dete hai....
😂😂😂
Man it took you around 2-3 mins to tell about your achievements that's just amazing...
Thank you I didn't share them all either

Really great video, thanks for this. Being from a Tier3 college doesn't matter but many things that you points out I was making those mistakes like only CP is my only path in life, following some not so helpful other youtubers, and I was afraid that I shouldn't in future get into open source because I'm from a random unknown college. But listening to you it's obvious now open source communities don't care about my college, Thanks!.
Hey Kunal, I've graduated alreafy from a tier 3 college and working in service based company for a month now. Following your DSA playlist from last 1 week, will contribute to open source.
Hat's off man!!
Thank you so much... sharing these things and aware us!

10th point is gold. Take ownership of your own learning. Kunal can only guide you (well enough), you have to be responsible for the execution. Something may or may not work. Doesn't mean it's wrong. Fail fast grow fast. Thanks for the beautiful and honest video Kunal.

Your advice motivated me to learn myself and not to rely too much on boring college classes.
Hey bro, where are you from?
Yes bhaiya most needed video
Being from IIT, I am still watching your video. Aim to build projects and contributing to open-source rather than moving to CP. We have passed a very competitive phase already and now we are tired of learning for competition.

Bhaiya you are awesome I am following your dsa bootcamp and it was just op.
Please make a video about your remote job experiences. And please suggest some websites or tips to search for remote jobs.
Because after watching this video, I am convinced that you are one of the most trusted sources of guidance in the software field.
Keep up the good work👍
Sure I will
As someone who took NIT Surathkal (batch of 2022), I'd say that unless you're into Comp Science, then your choice of college doesn't matter. I wanted to get into the core industry or get into emerging tech, hence I took Surathkal in a core branch. Now I'm applying for my Masters and probably phD in Netherlands and the US, and will eventually diversify out of traditional core
What about ece or ee?
