I can’t believe it took me all these months of watching your videos to finally make the connection of the artist’s rendering of your logo to how you are standing for the intro of every one of your videos with your arms crossed! The artist captured your essence perfectly! 😂🔧👍
Great idea, Don, cupping your mic while running an engine! We could hear you clearly, something I can’t say for most other creators trying to run equipment and talk at the same time. 🙏👍
I need to check my deck adjustment next spring, my belt slips off sometimes when I disengage it. Almost the same model as that one. And I like seafoam too it does work. Great video. 👍 😊
Thanks for the video. I was wondering what it the make and or model number of your lift you used to put the tractor on? Thanks again, I enjoyed the video.
Maybe the engine running well after the new fuel/SeaFoam treatment was as simple as a missed emulsion tube hole with a small amount of varnish that the SeaFoam dissolved. We’ll never know! 😂👍
would you happen to have any tips on tuning a carb on a John Deere 111? it has a air to fuel mix and idle screw but it also has a needle on the bottom of the carb you have to adjust. I couldnt find anything online. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Ah, a classic JD 111. There are a few around me for sale. Good old machines! The idle speed screw is obvious. The mixture screw on the side is for idle fuel mixture, so from idle up to about 1/4 throttle is usually affected by this adjustment. Slowly tighten it till it surges at idle, then open it till it stops surging. The adjustable main is a RARE thing to see any more, that one is adjusted at wide open throttle when the engine is hot. Tighten it up slowly till it surges a little, then open it back up about 1/8 to 1/4 turn. That's usually where they work the best.

The artist is my daughter. She's artsy like that. She even got some of my flame tattoo details in the logo.

It's hard to have something loud going on in the near background and still have your voice heard.
Thanks for showing us how to adjust the deck belt tension! Bookmarked at 38:24. 🔧👍
You bet!
Thanks for the tip on properly adjusting the belt tension, I always wondered how to do that.
They are am odd but simple design. Correct adjustment is critical for proper operation though.

As usual a ton of info my. Scary to think of what would happen if everybody just did routine maintenance
Thanks Mike!
Routine maintenance keeps them running for much longer...
If you haven’t filmed an inner tube installation I’d appreciate seeing your procedure.

When you said there was no backlash on the intake valve. I thought the top valve would be the intake since it was in line with the carburetor.
The intake runner drops down 45* across the head and runs on the bottom valve in this case Bill.
Why those particular engins sound so smooth compared to the newer engins to me the new engins are rough sounding
There's less moving parts in these. Even smoother running engines are the Briggs 2 cylinder horizontally opposed engines.

Here's a video I did when I got it... ua-cam.com/video/Tf-RdDtNQaE/v-deo.html
Thanks so much. @@randomwrenching

Could very well be. Seafoam has worked like that in the past for me.
"that's exactly what we want" 😂😂😂😂
Lol

@@randomwrenching I really appreciate it, thank you sir!
Pretty easy to determine an amateur worked on that tractor before you got it!😂
Pretty much. But that's why many people watch videos like these, so they can get a little knowledge before tackling the job themselves.
